Location was good. Host was living inside, so could let us in anytime. We liked electronic lockers which seemed very modern for such apartment.
The price was too high for such room which was average. I would not return.

Amazing location, just round the corner from the town centre and the 'touristy' bit, which with the price makes it really good value. Michael the host was great, he gave us all the help and info we needed. The other staff were great too, I didn't catch his name but the guy cleaning in the morning gave us amazing insights about the way people think of thier history here. Everyone is incredibly friendly, like almost everyone in the town here are to tourists People stopped us in the street just to ask how we liked it and to make sure we came back! The place itself is also above a street food style eatery and electronics shop, and there's a supermarket opposite. They were happy to let us leave our bags after check out. Otherwise we were left entirely to our own devices, so you could talk as much or as little as you liked.
There were ants in the bathroom, but it's the middle of the rainforest, and we could see they were cleaning everyday so it feels very harsh to say, but want to be honest.

Our room was comfortable and big. It had a mini fridge, microwave and air con which were all very appreciated.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. He ordered us a taxi to the border on the day we left.
Nothing. Great room especially for the price!

Just budget room. No more, no less. Room includes A/C and the fan.
Nothing, room was like we expected. But nothing special.

I loved the location, the hammock, the city, the manager AC
It was very loud overnight and we had some trouble sleeping. The rooster was very perky early

There were no breakfasts. There is a small restaurant on the property that was well run and had good food and strong coffee
Mike was a congenial host always smiling and helpful
Nowhere could we find a tshirt that said Cayo or San Ignacio or Santa Elena.

I love Mike, the owner. he’s friendly, helpful, and a good all round legend. He took me out for delicious, cheap local food at a little local food location I doubt I’d have found without his help. it became my fav place to eat!
The room is clean, the aircon works great, and the wifi was nice and fast. There were some internet outages, but these were with the internet company and most of the town had them at the same time so not the fault of Max Rooms.
I loved the 6 minute walk across the bridge to San Ignacio. the location is great because it’s a bit quieter than the main San Ignacio town so I got better sleeps.
Given the price I paid, nothing. it’s great value for a budget place.

Mike was extremely helpful. Great location; short walk from San Ignacio proper, supermarket and a restaurant across the road. I would happily stay here again.
The shower head caught on fire; however, Mike responded very promptly to this and put me in a new room immediately. The property has only recently been converted to a hotel and was undergoing renovation, so I'm happy to chalk this up to a freak occurrence.

Ended up staying a week, and the manager, Mike, is a complete legend - I got pretty illl for a couple of days and he drove me all over to get supplies and made sure I was ok. Thanks again Mike!
I'd stay there again for sure :)

Nice spacious room with airco, hot water (!!), a fridge and coffeemaker. Location is great, just over the bridge and you are in the town (10 minutes walk).
Our host Michael is the best! He was extremely accommodating and ready to answer all our questions/gave really good tips. Highly recommend this place!
Maybe a water refill would be nice. Otherwise all perfect.

Spacious apartment-like rooms, good location just a short walk from the center. Nice common areas for hanging out.
Mike really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. However, for us this attention was a little too much. It was clear, though, that it was with the best intentions.

Considering some of the prices of the competition, this place seems like the best deal for a private room in Cayo (depending on which rates you're able to get). The air conditioner is awesome, there's a solid wifi connection and the room is spacious enough to have a couch, mini-fridge and table. Mike is a friendly guy and the property is only a little ways over the bridge, not too far from the main tourist areas of San Ignacio.
Trying to book an additional night felt a bit strange, as the price went up considerably (both on Booking.com and off the site) when we asked to extend our booking. The restaurant downstairs didn't seem to be open, but there's a decent (and very cheap) Chinese food place a bit down the road, in the opposite direction from the bridge.

good location, only a short walk to the centre. Mike was a really helpful and lovely host. Covid testing centre 5 mins away (Codd’s drug store, 100 bzd).
really good value!

We loved staying here! The hotel is located a few steps from the bridge and really just under a five minute walk from the center of San Ignacio. The owner Mike is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dont expect a modern hotel with loads of amenities and just be happy with a good bed, nice hot shower and a lot of tv channels. The little fridge and coffee maker were a bonus!

The owner Mike was welcoming and hospitable!!!
I felt part of the community just five days there.
The location is great, one can pretty much walk to any location around town with ease. Wi-Fi is super fast!!!

The manager, always trying to please in a positive way. First day did not like the breakfast but they rapped it up and put it in my bag , after 1 hour travel to our boat starting point, floating another hour , hiking to the waterfalls, the breakfast I did not like was gorgeous.
The 5 min walk to downtown over the bridge, refreshing. Everything ——-oh —no cork screw .
Safe what more can you ask for.

Staff was super friendly. A lovely quiet place.
May not look like much from the outside, but the inside is very nice and clean.
