About this apartment rental
Winterfel is a beautiful studio apartment at The Ore house Inn our 130 year old building downtown New Castle, Colorado. This themed studio has cable T.V., High Speed internet, Atari Game Console, Blu Ray/DVD player, Huge Bathroom, typical hotel amenities and Full Kitchenette with place settings for 3. There are laundry facilities and an Ice Machine on the same level. Our hallways characterize New Castle's mining history. Just 10 minutes to Glenwood Springs, Close to Sunlight Ski area, 2 world class hot springs pools, the Flattop mountains and Rifle Mountain Park, Rifle Falls, Rifle Gap, Colorado river rafting, Snowshoeing etc. etc.. We ask that pets be declared at time of booking not be left unattended unless they are in a crate. Your huge private (Not Shared) bathroom is located right across the hall. New Castle offers great food, world-class hiking and biking, golf, fishing and more. We offer discounts for Iron Mountain Hot Springs and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. We have 4 possible EV parking spots (240v J1772 plugs, 2 Nema 14-50 plugs) call for details. There are snowshoes available to rent downstairs. We are just 1 block from RFTA (Roaring Fork Transportation Authority) bus stop.

The property was nice, a bit difficult to get into, but overall it was nice. It would be important to note that the bathroom is external to the room itself.

I had everything I needed and more! The space was charming and creatively decorated. You Game of Throne fans will be particularly pleased. Awesome location in the heart of old town New Castle. The bedding was luxurious and the robes were the icing on the cake! I would definitely stay here again!

Great comfortable stay! The New Castle / Glenwood area is full of activities and this was the perfect place to stay at to access it all. Some amazing restaurants you can easily walk to. Perfect weekend getaway.

Overall a cute little spot. Fantastic pizza in the place across the street. Some info on Vrbo inaccurate (wifi password, restaurant below doesn't exist) but info posted in the room was helpful and up to date. Owner was great with communication! We loved that they allowed us to stay with 2 large dogs! Dog friendly spots are hard to come by. That said, when we first entered the room, we could smell some urine in the warm room from previous guests - very mild, but I did notice. Other than that very clean and comfortable.

Everything was fine except the sleeper sofa which was horrible. I ended up folding it back up and just sleeping on it as a couch.

We had an excellent stay in New Castle! Had some drinks at the bar downstairs. Went to the hot springs and the adventure park (thanks for the discount code). Went walking around town and it was a short distance to things we wanted to do. Thanks for allowing us and our cat Emma to stay in your lovely place! We hope to visit again. Would love to come stay when it is cooler outside!

This was a great little place. John was very responsive when we had questions and had the A/C started prior to our arrival. Check in was great and easy. We traveled to her vet reservoir only 15 minutes away and drove down to fish the frying pan two mornings as it was only about a 45 minute drive. Great game of thrones themed room we didn’t expect and we appreciate the little things.

We had such a great stay at the Ore House Inn. Right in the heart of Old Town. The room was GOT inspired and was fully stocked with everything we needed (for comfort and to make breakfast). The owner also owns the restaurant below which has a tasty menu and great staff (we ate dinner there a couple times during our stay - you get 10% off for staying at the Ore House). Super close to Glenwood. There’s an ice machine, Washer/Dryer available, extra towels for the hotsprings, cable TV. Would definitely look for availability at this property on my next visit to the area. Thanks for the hospitality!

Clean, quiet, and good location
I was looking for a place to stay so that I could visit Glenwood Springs, Aspen, and some state parks/national forests without too much hassle. I came by this place in New Castle and I’m glad I did!
It’s a private (themed) studio with everything you need from cooking equipment to a stocked bathroom. It’s essentially a fusion of an apartment rental and a hotel right on New Castle’s Main Street. The check in/out process was easy as well with very open and clear communication.
I would definitely stay here again!

Incredible stay!
This is an incredible place to stay and s great location. The restaurant and bar below is run by the hosts, John and Corey who were so kind. The food was great. John had great recommendations for things to do and see. I would give the stay a 10 or of 10!

Perfect stay! Accommodations were great! Owner owned restaurant downstairs—gave fantastic recommendations for day trips that did not disappoint! Wonderful vacation all the way around!

Nice stay
The place was nice. Wasn’t expecting the Game of Thrones decor, which isn’t really my thing, but the accommodations were good. Also didn’t realize that the bathroom was located across the hall. On the other hand, it wasn’t busy so I didn’t feel awkward going back and forth.

The place to stay!
I rented this space for a week while I was in Glenwood for a conferen6ce, and it was fantastic! The location and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing and I enjoyed my stay very much. John and Branden were extremely helpful and accommodating before and during my stay. I will definitely be staying again!

Good deal
We only stayed one short night. It was a little inconvenient that our bathroom was across the hall from our room. On the other hand, it was very convenient that the restaurant downstairs delivered our food to us and we got a discount on the food. I only wish we stayed longer to watch more Game of Thrones.

Wow!
Everything about my stay was comfortable. First, the owner was excellent about communicating with me that Glenwood Canyon had been closed due to a mudslide; he immediately let me know that it opened, and I was good to go.
The property had everything I needed and more. It was nice to have a few restaurants around (88 Grill below was his and he offered 10% off which was a pleasant surprise!). Loved having access to an ice machine, which is rare in most VRBO rentals. Many streaming and cable tv options as well.
I was able to walk my dogs just across the street to potty; very nice downtown area. Ample hiking opportunities nearby. Be sure to visit Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood! May be the nicest hot springs I’ve ever been to, and got a 10% discount with a code John shared. He also provided larger towels for this purpose.
So much more to say, but I’ll simply say, rent this property, you will not be disappointed, especially if you are a GOT fan; it is decorated with GOT theme.

Perfect Little Getaway!
The staff was so sweet and the room was perfect for my boyfriend and I. We loved the Game of Throne theme!! It was located in the cutest little town with multiple places to dine and all of which had delicious food. It’s close to Glenwood Springs which was convenient. We honestly loved every bit of our trip!!

Amazing !
My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and we had an amazing time. We were minutes from the hot springs , the food down stairs is fantastic, the staff is friendly and the property managers are super kind and helpful. You can get discounts for the hotsprings just ask them about it , new castle is quiet but cute. We can’t wait to come back ! ❤️

This was one of the best VRBO experiences I’ve had thus far! The room was great, especially for game of thrones fans! The food was good from the 88 grill downstairs and the process was easy and stress free! Wonderful experience would highly recommend!
