Cooking in the house with the dishwasher was a wonderful experience. It was fully stocked with pans, bowls and utensils. There was plenty of outside seating on the decks and down by the water. Having 2 hot tubs was a luxury. We did most of the meal preparation in the house with the dishwasher. We had some hot days and the kitchen ran about 80 degrees because there is no central air conditioning in the main part of the house with the dishwasher. Both bedrooms in the house with the dishwasher had air conditioners so it was cool in the bedrooms to sleep. We had enough beds for everyone so we did not use the loft. Our group enjoyed using the canoe and the three kayaks. For our late July stay, Keuka Lake lived up to it's reputation of being the warmest of the Finger Lakes. While swimming, we noticed that the water was remarkably clear with no seaweed.

Had a wonderful time. Location was perfect. supply of kyaks etc was appreciated since we all loved being in the water. Loved the hot tubs and
Sitting on the deck for morning coffee.
The down side was not having central air on the main house and losing Wi-Fi throughout the
Week. Linda tried her best to remedy the
Wi-Fi problem. Fun

We stayed here with our wedding party over Labor Day Weekend and loved every part of this house. It is the absolute perfect setup for a larger group with separate living areas and kitchen space so you don't feel on top of each other. We spent every night out on the beautiful porch, in the hot tub, or at the beach which is large enough for the whole family to hang around the campfire. Linda is an absolute gem and was attentive to anything the group needed throughout the stay, which wasn't much as the house is fully stocked with all the essentials and beyond. As someone who grew up on the lake with a family who has rented probably over 100 properties around the lake over generations - this place was TOP TIER and we will definitely be back!

Great property to host extended family celebrating a milestone birthday for my dad. We enjoyed kayaking/paddle boarding/canoeing/fishing on the lake and evening campfires. It was also a nice base camp for exploring the area including vineyards, bike trail to Seneca lake, and the Corning glass museum. Plenty of space and things to entertain our multi generational group of 14.

We rented both houses for a family getaway! We loved the access the the lake which was beautifully clear! We kayaked we canoed. We rented paddle boards and shore line rentals delivered! Sitting in the hot tub with a view of the lake was so relaxing. The living area was perfect for cool mornings and very comfy. But we spent most of our time on all the decks or lakeside. The fire-pit was great in the evenings to continue the fun. We were able to watch the perseid meteor shower from the docks. The star gazing is amazing! Linda the owner was helpful and quickly available for any questions or concerns. We would so return and we recommend highly! In addition we did not ever need to leave but we enjoyed Hunt Country and Dr Frank Konstantin
Wineries, the little mercantile in Branchport and the availability of bigger stores in penn Yan. (And 2 can dans in penn Yan for recycling was super quick and nice!). Thanks for a great week!

We had an amazing time at Blacksmith Cove! We traveled with small kids (2 and 7) and a bunch of extended family.
This was a perfect spot for kids and water... the wade in (stone... be sure to bring water shoes) beach was perfect for the little ones and stayed fairly shallow and protected for quite a while. The kids basically lived in the water and it was very low stress for us parents. We made good use of the boats, docks and hot tub!
The decks and living room areas were super comfy and made the adults quite happy to sit and relax.
The hosts were extremely responsive, helpful and flexible. This was an extremely challenging trip for us on a personal level (car troubles, illness, etc) and the house itself and the hosts' helpfulness saved the trip!

Great week at Keuka
This property was great for our week at Keuka. 2 families with adult children and their friends. The guest house was perfect for the adult kids to be in. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit and floating in the lake all week. The property owner was great to work with and responded immediately with any issues. It was great to have someone meet you at the house on your arrival and show you around. We are looking to book again.

Location, Location, Location!
The property was perfect for our large family (8 adults, 5 children) - the house is right on the lake, near the wineries and close enough to Penn Yan that trips for supplies weren't an issue. Lovely place!

We were very lucky to get a booking on short notice. From booking forward through the stay Linda and son Alec were responsive and a pleasure handling all questions. When we arrived it was like stepping into another place and time. Large property with LOTS of open areas, decks, beach, docks for relaxing (and btw social distancing) - larger than the pictures may look. The property has many trees giving it a treehouse feeling while allowing all full choice between shade and sun. Also the pictures of the main house do not do it justice - very spacious. The water was very warm this week - great for swimming and boating. If you are looking for a brand new, pristine place with new everything this may not be for you - but if you want a very classic lakeside property with warmth, character, space, water, relative seclusion, this is your place. It is a treasure and I wish I was back watching the sunrise and calm lake all day from many vantage points. We will return.

Rustic & fun
Blacksmith Cove's two houses were a great fit for our bunch of friends with kids. The water was pretty quiet - not too much boat traffic - and though it wasn't deep enough to really jump in off the dock, the shallow beach was perfect for the younger kids in our group. We loved the treehouse feel, too - very charming!

Blacksmith Cove-Great Family Vacation
This was our 25th Annual Keuka Lake Family Vacation and this was our first visit to Blacksmith Cove - it definitely did not disappoint! We were pleased to be on the West Branch as that is the area where the "elders" of us spent time when we were younger. We used all of the facilities of both cottages - the decks, the docks, the hot tub, the beach, the firepit, the hammock, the loft, the kitchens, the grills, the laundry, the canoe, the kayak - we especially enjoyed the deck on the main house because it was like a treehouse; even in the morning sun, there was enough shade that it was pleasant for morning coffee and conversation. We had a heatwave during our stay this year but the A/C in all of the bedrooms made pleasant sleeping for all. And the stairs are very gentle so that even us "elders" were in lovely, clear Keuka every day. Linda greeted us when we got there and gave us a tour extraordinaire - she is a fantastic owner and was very responsive to us any time we asked her a question.

Great location
Located on beautiful Keuka lake, clean clear water. Perfect for water sports, family gatherings and bonfires and s’mores at night. Two issues with plumbing and ants were taken care of immediately. Two drawbacks were you should only drink bottled water and low water pressure for showers. Overall great experience!

Perfect for larger group
This was our second stay at Blacksmith Cove, and it was as great as we remembered. Location is awesome, close to towns, wineries, breweries, marinas, plenty of activities for kids of all ages, (kayaking, canoeing, swimming). Highly recommend!!! Thanks Linda!

Memories on Keuka Lake
This was our first time at the cottages on Keuka Lake. We very much enjoyed our time together especially all that the outdoors had to offer from the hot tub to the hammock to the easy access to the lake/docks. The seating at the main cottage was perfect for our 8 adults and 4 children. We loved being able to look out on the lake from anywhere on the porch. The porch at the guest house became quite the gathering place on the one day that it rained really hard. We all hung out there most of the day. If it wasn't for that covered porch we would have had to sit indoors and we all just wanted to be outside even though it was raining.
We loved the location of the fire pit and that we were able to bring our own kayaks and fishing boat to which we had easy access right at water's edge.
Sitting on the dock in the early morning hours was so quiet and calming. We even saw a few fish jumping.
We did have issue with the lack of central air-conditioning. Three out of the seven days we were there the temperature was above 90 degrees with the temperature in the kitchen on those days being close to 100 which made preparing meals almost unbearable.
Some things in the cottages really need to be updated such as the carpeting in the living rooms. The guest house living room carpeting was especially dirty with a musty smell that was apparent as you approached the door from the outside. I was very hesitant to even allow the grandchildren to play on those carpets.
We did appreciate having a washer/dryer and that there were two 5 gallon bottles of water available to us.. Kids loved the loft and hanging out up there.
There was one incident that was quite upsetting and that was that our 15 year-old granddaughter's second jump off the dock the day we arrived landed her on a cinder block that was in the water at the end of the dock. She obviously didn't see it nor did any of us expect that to be in the water at the end of the dock. She came out of the water with a huge gash on her leg. We dressed it the best we could but had to take her to an urgent care facility the next morning, the closest one being in Geneva. We had to change her dressings every day and she refused to go in the water the rest of the week which was what the 4 grandkids love to do more than anything. She will have a permanent scar no doubt about it.
We had a lovely time at the cottages. A few improvements would have made it perfect.

Great outdoor space, beautiful natural setting
Spent two weeks at 2 Side/Side with extended family, renting both the main (upper) house and guest house. The houses are nestled among the trees on a slope, making you feel like you are living in a tree house. Deck space is very good, with lots of outdoor furniture and amazing lake views. The guest house has a covered deck, which is ideal when it rains. The hot tub near the deck of the main house is large and in good working order. The rocky beach is also ideal, with space to lounge and a fire pit surrounded by many comfortable outdoor chairs. We had a campfire every night and loved it. The canoe and kayak were also great for exploring the lake.
The indoor space is serviceable, although not outstanding. Both houses are a bit dark inside and the loft in the main house gets hot and stuffy. Kitchen in the main house was small but well stocked with dishes and pans, plus a good dishwasher. The guest house has rather small bedrooms, and the place was a bit dusty.
Oddly, some of the dressers are filled with personal belongings, making it hard to put away your own clothes. With desktops, dresser tops, and bathroom cabinets also holding personal stuff, it feels a bit as if you walked into an occupied house and took over. But overall, we had a very good time and loved the lake access and beautiful views.

Great Property and convenient location on West Branch
Two very nice cottages with super views of the Bluff from the numerous decks and docks. We stayed with another family with a total of four adults and five older teenagers. Plenty of space for all of us and a more if needed. Both of our families grew up on West Bluff so we are vary familiar with the lake and the property met all of our expectations. The owner and the management staff were extremely helpful and the property was clean and neat. We will return in the future!

Our Wedding Week
We rented these 2 cottages for the week of our wedding. There were perfect from having a rehearsal dinner, getting ready for the big day & enjoying everyone's company afterwards. After our wedding (at Keuka Lake State Park Shelter - great place for a great celebration) we stayed at the cottages with our closest friends & family. We wanted to spend more time with those that traveled from various states & these cottages were perfect for that. We planned some group events (wine/beer tastings & dinners) but also had time that each family could go & do as they wanted as well. And, those friends who didn't know each other that well at the start, now have a bigger extended family now. It made our "honeymoon" week so much more fun & memorable! We couldn't have planned or dreamed of such a great week! The cottages were the perfect spot with spacious room for all to have their own space & enough space to be together as a group. The best part for us was waking up with the lake view & drinking our coffee on the deck or dock. It is so peaceful, you can't help be relaxed, We did not have that "hurried" feeling at all. (Not even when getting tot the wedding on time.) We dealt with Linda, the owner, & she was great! Any time I had a question before our stay she responded to my email within the same day. She was also available via text messages throughout the week. We had minor questions for her, & she got back to us within minutes. I would recommend this place every time! We are all still talking about how great a time we all had & that spending the extra time together was a wonderful experience. Our week at the cottages were so relaxing that no one wanted to go back home. We are already being asked to rebook it for years to come because everyone had such a great time!

Great spot for a family vacation
We enjoyed our stay at the Lakeside Cottages on Keuka Lake. The owner was very responsive and concerned of our comfort and needs while we were there. It was an ideal spot for our large family to enjoy. Great deck spaces!

Keuka treehouses was the perfect description of the cottages by one of our guests.
I planned a Keuka vacation with my adult children and grandchildren in hopes that they would enjoy it as much as I did in my childhood. The lovely and comfortable cottages made our inaugural Keuka family vacation a complete success, guaranteed to be repeated. The large decks allowed plenty of space for entertaining as did the lakeside docks and firepit area for enjoying the lake and views. The convenient location to Hammondsport and the vineyards was perfect for exploring the breathtaking landscapes.

Quick weekend getaway!
We had a great time at this cottage in the lake! The house was clean and well kept and had everything we needed plus more! Linda and i texted throughout the weekend making sure we had everything! The view and the trees were just gorgeous and the cottage was great and centrally located to everything and everywhere we needed to go! We would definetly go again!!

Fairly priced, great location!
This home has such potential. It has three bedrooms containing two double beds and one queen. The kitchen was adequately equipped for a simple meal. The real problem with this home is the spider webs in every single corner and the dust. Even the bed linens were dusty. Not sure why it wasn't freshened up before we arrived. I pulled the vacuum out of the closet to freshen up the place, but there were no attachments to do corners. I guess thats why it hasn't been done! The living room had two leather chairs with ottomans for a home that sleeps six!?! We took shifts relaxing in the living room by twos as the other four sat on two wicker chairs brought out from the bedrooms, or arranging an ottoman against the wall with one of the large pillows from the chair. The kitchen table only had 3 chairs. The location was great. The front porch was very enjoyable, as we ate breakfast there; there was plenty of table seating there. The owner is super duper nice. She even went to the store to get milk for us and refused payment. I don't want to scare anyone from renting this unit. Maybe you should request that the cob webs be removed before you arrive!
