About this villa rental
Moomist Villa is an idyllic setting to relax and rewind. It is located within Polynesian Gardens across the street from beautiful Siesta Key beach (Number 1 on the list of Top 10 most beautiful beaches in the USA). Out the front door you have a “peek-a-boo” view of the bay with boats cruising by. Out the back sliding doors you look on an ancient oak covered with resurrection fern, orchids & bromeliads & a stone path to your own private hot tub in the middle of the jungle of tropical flora.
When you walk in the front door you will be captivated by the arched ceiling painted to look like the sky. The living room is charming & tropical, the sun porch/TV room is comfy and cozy . The kitchen is properly “beachy” with open shelves & bamboo countertops. The master bedroom with a king bed & wicker chests is a sanctuary ala Tommy Bahama style. The second bedroom has twin beds and is bright & Floridian.

Beautiful Home…. Great Location; just a short walk to Siesta Keys Beach😊 Amazing swimming pool and the house had a really nice Hot Tub as well!

Very comfortable, peaceful and lovely landscaping. The pool area was beautiful also. Centrally located to both Siesta and Turtle Beach! My granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the property!

This house is sheer perfection if it were properly maintained… the screen doors and sliders needed to be addressed as opening and closing them in the back of the house to the garden was near impossible… the layout of the house is wonderful as their is a bedroom and bathroom at either ends of the house which allows for great privacy when vacationing with friends.. the back yard is liveely as is the vegetation but the hot tub I fear is so moldiy because if the old cover, that if you have breathing issues it should be avoided.. I was there for two months and no one ever added any proper chemicals to the water in the hot tub .. after I let Jeannette know about the screen problem as I had also brought it to her attention when I stayed there about 5 years ago!!!! She said she would speak to her handy man and I was there another three weeks and no handy man ever came.. the sliding door in the bedroom remained open about 6 inches during my stay in January, the coldest January on record.. so.. as much as I loved the location, the house , and Siesta Key, until those issues would be resolved I would not stay at this dreamy spot again.. and it breaks my heart because I Do love everything about that Moonmist Villa.. except the sliders!!!

Great location, perfect as a base to explore the area from Bradenton down to port Charlotte. We all love the pier looking onto the intra coastal waterway, saw dolphins and manatees in the wild..Fabulous.As golfers there are plenty of courses within an hours drive.Lots of restaurants of all types and prices are easily accessible with or without a car.Pity that there isn’t a beach access a little closer but the free trolley bus is great .Villa has everything you could want and any issues were dealt with by the owner.

Only issue we really had is there could not be any food left on either side of the kitchen countertop. If you did so, it would be covered in small brown sugar, ranch.
As well the thermostat was locked at 72° and we could not turn in any lower than that. My wife has cancer and recent chemo and severe hot flashes and would have been nicer to get the room colder than 72°.

Very nice property.

Stayed for a week to visit friends and family. Also this was a good location for all the activities we did throughout the week. Such as pairasail kayaking EBike ride fishing and even a helicopter ride.

We really enjoyed our vacation at siesta key. The rental is decent for the price and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Walking distance to the beach and you can take a free trolley to either end of the key.

this was the perfect location; close to family
The pool was fabulous
Only complaint is beds in guest room were not too comfortable for two adults; children probably ok.
4.6
Property was excellent except for the beds for children, too small and uncomfortable. Next time we would stay closer to the beach and restaurants.

Been going to Siesta since the 1970’s. Never been back around this property location but it’s marvelous! Privacy, peace and quiet, and spacious. The property was even better than the pictures and description. We loved the hot tub, the open floor plan, the decor, and all of the windows. Backyard is a shady oasis. Highly recommended.

LIKE THE LOCATION,DID`T LIKE THE CONSTRUCTION AT 7:30am across FROM CONDO! DUMPSTER DELIVERD AND CONCRETE DUMPING IN METAL DUMPSTER, hmmm

We have stayed in over 50 vacation rentals, and this was definitely one of the cleanest by far. The rooms are spacious, interesting and unique decorations, different areas in the house so people can separate, nice hot tub to hang out in, beautiful tree in the backyard, and all the beach toys you will need. It is definitely evident the owner takes pride in creating a villa that is enticing to stay in. Three minute walk to the bay and a 10 to 12 minute walk to Crescent Beach. We went snorkeling at point of rocks and were able to rent a mask and fins for only $15 each for the full day. There are places to rent bikes and kayaks as well. The sand, all I can say, is, it felt like cornstarch on my feet. Many restaurants within driving distance. We will most definitely be back to the same place again!

We stayed for 2 months in Jan-March 2023.
The house is very spacious and the neighborhood setting is very quiet and tropical.
The neighbors host HH on the pier and are very welcoming!
If you want to be able to access the beach, this location is not convenient as there is no beach access close by.
The owner was very responsive with the few issues we had.
As big as the place is, it needs upgrades. The furniture is very tired. The sheets and towels are very old. The kitchen needs to have new matching dishes and silverware. It was hard to even find a bowl to use for cereal.
The lighting needs to be upgraded as the lights were very low level brightness.
The back yard is a nice shaded area to relax in, but the outdoor furniture needs to be replaced along with the grill. The hot tub is a nice feature!
The beds however were very comfortable.
The step down shower is tricky and since there is no fan in the bathroom, we had to constantly clean the shower to keep the mold at bay.
The community pool is in the middle of the community, a close walk with restrooms.

We stayed at this location before; we chose it again because of our comfort with the property and the location convenience.

Contacting property manager was difficult. But, owner (who worked through a hot water problem) was extremely helpful and quick to communicate. A nice place.

Lovely place and very comfortable, pool is great, short walk through the complex, very close proximity to the parking area at Siesta beach. Everything you need is in the place!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a cozy little spot that was close enough to the beach/entertainment but far enough away that it wasn't too busy or crowded.

Good location for a beach vacation. Property was nice, beds were comfortable, neighborhood was pleasant.
The property was well appointed with furnishings and decorations to promote the Polynesian environment. But normal wear and tear has taken a toll, and it's time for some renovation.
Some might say the promoted jungle environment is, in fact, just overgrown landscape. Kitchen countertop appliances, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, should all be replaced.

Wonderful home & wonderful host
This rental is absolutely perfect! Finding a private home that you can walk to the bay in under 2 min, drive to the beach in under 3min & have a private community pool is a rare gem. Jeanette was the perfect host checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.

Absolutely adorable and comfortable villa close enough to the village but far enough away to feel like you are at your own private resort! Easy access to all main highways and locations. Very clean and very comfortable with all accessories available.
Loved the hot tub in the private jungle back yard and I had to tear my husband and son away from the dock where they fished until the wee hours every night!
Sad to be leaving but looking forward to coming back. This villa will be on the top of our list!

The location and size of the rental was wonderful, is a nicely equipped condo, we loved the single story with its own parking area. The pool was nice and sitting on the pier with some of the very friendly neighbors was always a good time. I would love to rate this unit higher but there are some items that need attention: the kitchen needs a deep cleaning especially the open shelves & the ceiling fan was very dirty even after the owner dusted. The patio area needs cleaning out, was junky. The furniture in the Oasis area was terrible. It's time to consider replacing the outdated TV or get new remotes and the couch in the TV room is quite saggy. A working smoke alarm is needed and there were lots of burned-out light bulbs. A little love will definitely bring this unit up to the standard it deserves.

Moonmist was great
We enjoyed our month at Moonmist. Its central location on Siesta Key was perfect. We bike to the beach almost every day and walked up to Orange Octopuss for ice cream a lot.
Were disappointed that the owner did not have the property available for us next year.

House is located in a quiet neighborhood. House is fully equipped. The hostess had everything neatly arranged. The passage to the beach can be reached via the public access roads. These are a bit further away but can be knitted easily with the free troly. The decor is a bit dated but fine. Everything is there to beach necessities. Highly recommended.

Property was exactly as described. Nice villa for a reasonable price. Jeannette was extremely friendly, responsive and helpful. Had a problem with the hot tub when we arrived, but she was able to get a repairman out and resolve the problem quickly. Only downsides were no direct access to the beach and the furniture wasn't very comfortable. However, the bed in the master was extremely comfortable. Overall, great value in a nice community in beautiful Siesta Key. Would definitely stay again.
