5th year in this lovely perfect cottage. This year kids were big enough to go on Cape Cod bike trail. Beautiful. The classics: Harbour light minigolf (and ice cream), Brewster general store ( a gem), Kate's seafood (for ice cream) , feeding the butterflies and visiting the natural history museum (so worth a visit) and of course Paines creek and Scargo lake. We hope to be back next year!We

We truly loved our week in this clean and comfortable cottage. The neighborhood can’t be beat, and the home is perfect for a family. Ian and Carrie were kind and responsive before and during our stay. We hope to return next year!

This is our third year staying at Tales of Sunset Bay, and once again, it did not disappoint! The location is perfect, and we did not hesitate to take advantage of being right down the street from Paine's Creek Beach. It's the perfect beach for our kids, who are now 5 and 6 yeas old. We also made sure to make our annual nightly walks to Kate's, whether that was for fried seafood or for ice cream. The only complaint, which always seems to be an issue, is that the week just goes by way too fast! Thank you for another great summer vacation in the books, next year can't come soon enough!

We love this home. Ian is a great host. He is very responsive and easy to work with. The house is so comfortable, perfectly located near the perfection of Paine’s Creek Beach. The kitchen has everything we need. The outdoor space and especially the outdoor shower is perhaps the best feature of the house. Leaving SixPenny Lane at the end of the stay was so difficult. We would return again for sure.

Extremely private and quiet, only a 10 minute walk to a popular beach.

This was the 4th year renting this cottage and I hope there will be many more to come. We keep coming back because the house has everything we need (and then some), it's in a great area of Brewster (walkable to Paines Creek) and Ian is absolutely wonderful to work with. This cottage is clean and it's a reliable listing. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home for a week every summer. I feel like it is part of our story now too :)

We had a wonderful time fly fishing on the Brewster flats celebrating our 30th anniversary. We had our kids for a few days as our son prepared to get married next month. The Cape has always held special memories and fun times for all of us. This cozy house was centrally located and allowed us to make day trips and walk to fishing spots in the evening.

My family had a wonderful stay at Ian & Carrie’s cute cottage. This was our second summer renting this property and would recommend it to small families that want a safe and quiet place that is close to everything. Really appreciate the host allowing us to check in early too. Outstanding experience!

Cute Property. Accessible to everything. Luckily we drove so we could bring sheets, towels etc. Noticed in the guest book that people came from far and wide. Don't know how they brought bedding etc. Definitely would stay again.

The house was adorable. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the needs of their guest. We enjoyed our stay. I think it is a little silly not to offer sheets and towels. When you travel by plane it’s tough to bring. Last thing you want to do is shop for sheets and towels. All and all we had a great time.

We had such a great time. We visited from ATL and Ian was also quick to communicate and gave us so many awesome recommendations on things to do. The cottage was adorable! It was very homey, comfy, and had everything we needed and more. I loved the little touches like the local menus, “incase you forgot something” Basket, the games and books for all ages, the spare umbrellas, etc. We wouldn’t have changed a thing. Awesome layout and nicely decorated. Very well stocked kitchen for cooking too! Location was great, it was easy to find, and owners were very nice and helpful. I’d definitely recommend it and we can’t wait to go back!

Ian's house has become our annual family vacation spot because it has everything we want and need in one beautiful ocean cottage. We love Brewster because it's a bit quieter than many other towns with a great personality and a wonderful selection of restaurants and shops. We always pick up something at Lemon Tree Pottery for our home and my daughter adores the Toy Shop around the corner. The cottage is amazingly well kept, the backyard is perfect for relaxing and we love the outdoor shower! Thank you Ian for anther terrific year of great memories!

Perfect house for a family with young adults. Comfortable sleeping arrangements, two separate seating areas. Kitchen had everything we needed. AMAZING outdoor space and SHOWER!! Can’t beat this location. Easy walk to Paine’s Creek beach especially at sunset when parking is tight. Ian was responsive at available, although we had no real issues. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Very nice house. Well equipped kitchen. The dining room has sliding doors to allow for quiet meals even when people are playing in the living areas. Assortment of games for younger children. The two bedrooms are very separate and quiet. The outside grounds are very neat, well maintained and sunny. A great outdoor shower.
The location is really great. A ten minute walk down to Paine's Creek Beach (vert interesting tidal effects). If you enjoy fried seafood and ice cream the house is basically around the corner from Kate's. a great place but usually busy.

Perfect Cape Cod Cottage!
Such an awesome week for our family of 4! Paine's Creek Beach was perfect for our 3 and 4 year old kids, and the house was just the best! Thank you Ian!

The Best in Brewster
My family of four was very pleased with this cottage and felt right at home. Ian and Carrie went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and even reached out mid week to see how we were doing. Some of the items we really liked having access to were beach buckets and shovels, wi-fi w/smart TV (connecting Netflix via QR code took less than a minute - and logging out took even less time) laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, outdoor gas grill, outdoor shower, variety of games (Tin Can Alley was our favorite), books, etc. This cottage is so well laid out… My husband and I could watch boys playing in the backyard or in the family room while making dinner because of the clean sight lines. The dining room and small sitting area was my favorite place to sit. It is decorated with functional barn doors, which look great and also helped give privacy/quiet from the other rooms when sitting down with a book. I love the windows in this area of the cottage and how it overlooks the stone walkway and yard. Very peaceful lane in great area. Paine’s Beach is a short walk and we visited twice a day. We could walk to Kate’s and also liked being close to the Pizza Shark. We can’t wait to return to Ian and Carrie’s cute cottage again next year!

Another wonderful week
Second year in this beautiful cottage. Paines creek and Mayflower beaches including gorgeous tidal flats and sunsets. Long pond and princess beaches showed us the beauty of the Cape's freshwater ponds. Everything is close by. And after a long day we enjoyed the outdoor shower and deck. And Ida's rain did not matter in this lovely place. We hope to be back!

Sweet, comfortable Cape cottage
We had a lovely week in Brewster. This cottage is so comfortable and laid out thoughtfully to maximize the space. The little sectional sofa in the dining room is great for post-beach lounging :) we loved having morning coffee on the deck, and the outdoor shower is wonderful. Ian is a terrific host and was really responsive and accommodating at the start of our trip when hurricane weather was forecast. 10/10 would stay here again!

Our 2nd stay... and not our last!
This was our 2nd time staying at Ian's cottage in Brewster, MA. We loved it so much in 2020, that we returned this year- and hope to again and again. The cottage is perfectly located - close to everything, but in a quiet neighborhood that is safe and convenient. My husband, my 6-year old daughter and I had yet another amazing time with numerous beach days, sunset walks, fantastic dinners out (and in!), mini-golf, games and we even snuck in a very successful whale watch. The house itself has absolutely everything you could need- and even some things that you didn't know you needed. The amazing deck is my favorite spot to settle at the end of the day with a glass of wine and a book. Very comfortable, very clean and Ian is just an amazing owner- providing the confidence that everything is well taken care of. We're very much looking forward to making even more memories in the years to come. Thank you so much Ian!!

Brewster rental
The house was wonderful. The dining room inside can be closed off for a quiet meal. The kitchen was very clean and well stocked. The deck and back yard area were nice and the solar powered night lights created an enhanced ambience. The outdoor shower (a Cape Cod essential) was everything to write home about! The owner really provided a lot of extras. The location was great for beaches, bike riding and restaurants.

Best stay we've had in Brewster
We loved staying in Carrie & Ian's home. Besides being in great proximity to the beach, ice cream, and the most impressive liquor store on the cape, the best part about the house for us was there was plenty of space to hang out. It's hard to find places on the cape that are good for two people that also are not a studio cottage.
This was perfect for me and my partner, and we had friends drop in for a couple of days. The twin and bunks are definitely for kids but honestly not that bad for a couple of grown ups for 2 or 3 days either.
It was really clean and Ian was very communicative and cared to make sure we had everything we needed. Paine's Creek is a great beach and not far from Mant's Landing which we also enjoyed. We will definitely look to stay here again we loved it so much!

Beautiful long weekend
Amazing newly renovated house with great location. The owners communication was outstanding. The whole property was clean and the brand new deck was a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy the ocean breeze. The house was clean , quiet , and spacious . If I could give it 6 stars I would.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage. Fully equipped and so tastefully decorated. Great new deck, awesome outdoor shower. Quiet and peaceful yet near everything. Paine's creek just a short walk away. Beautiful sunsets, starry skies, ocean breeze and wonderful grounds. Even during the 2 rainy days we had everything was perfect with games and movies. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Lovely cottage
We had a great time in this lovely cottage in Brewster. It was better than expected and had everything one could possibly need. Ian was very responsive to our needs and questions. There was plenty of space in the shed to store 3 bikes and could have fit more. We loved watching the 2 bunnies that lived in the backyard and came around several times every day. We biked to the Brewster beaches very easily and enjoyed them at low and high tide. A couple of times we had take out from Kate’s around the corner and were very happy with our choices (fried scallops were great, lobster roll, fish dinner and fried calamari). We went to the outer cape beaches a few times for long walks in the late afternoon/evenings and enjoyed nature, social distancing and seals. Overall a great vacation!

Cape Cod cottage nothing short of perfect
Ian's beach cottage in Brewster, MA was the ideal vacation for our family. This private house had more than you could have hoped for- with all the little touches of home. The cottage was immaculately clean (important during a pandemic) and Ian kindly confirmed that the cleaning protocols were followed for Covid19 rentals. There was more space than appeared in the photos - we were pleasantly surprised by the two living spaces, the large kitchen and nicely finished dining room. The back yard with the NEW deck was awesome! And the outdoor shower was not only fun, but very practical (so nice to rinse off the sand after a day at the beach and not track it inside). The yard and outdoor space was ideal for our 5 year old to run and play- and felt very safe. Location was fantastic- a short 10 minute walk to the beach or to catch an after dinner sunset. And only a 15 minute drive down to the Dennis beaches (Mayflower, etc). A very convenient location to much of Cape Cod's attractions! Communication with Ian was nothing short of perfect- he was quick to respond to any inquiries I had, very helpful with information and incredibly kind. He is also my daughter's hero for finding (and return shipping) her most beloved stuffed elephant that was accidentally left behind (thanks again Ian!). From booking to locking the door on our way out, this was a flawless and wonderful experience! I look forward to staying at the cottage again very soon!

What can I say about this adorable Brewster cottage? Turns out a lot! Ian has created a little oasis where you yearn for nothing. It’s comfy, tastefully decorated, and has terrific outdoor spaces (especially the outdoor shower!). Our family of four loved it and hope to return again. Thanks for everything Ian!

A perfect cottage for our summer vacation!
We loved this house! It was the perfect size for our family of 4. It's on a quaint and quiet side street with easy access to everything. Our kids loved walking to Kate's ice cream shop and Paine's Creek Beach is so close. We also loved Cold Storage Beach which is just 3 miles down the road. The house is well kept and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need if you plan to have meals at the house. We would definitely stay at this house again in the future!

Perfect stay at Tales of Sunset Bay
Property was exactly as they described it. It was neat and clean and we had plenty of room in the cottage. The cottage was nicely decorated and had plenty of supplies like, blankets and extras in the bathroom in case we forgot any of our own. We would definitely come back again for another stay. It was a short walk away to Paines Creek which is a beautiful beach to complete your Cape Cod stay. The neighbors were super quiet-never saw them and the street was quiet as well. We got to see some wildlife in the back yard, ie; cardinals. bunnies, and even a cute ground hog waddling from house to house. (we had to look up what he was).
Thanks again for offering your home!
