About this apartment rental
Exclusive, quiet, and private. As featured in Jones Around the World (Best Airbnbs in Los Angeles)
Get ready to be charmed when you stay in our beautifully appointed and exceptional artistic hideaway, just a 10-minute walk from Grauman's Chinese Theatre in the heart of Hollywood. Enjoy sleeping in a custom-made queen-size bed by French-American owner and sculptor/photographer/filmmaker Pascal Giacomini, who hand-built many of the space's delightful and unique metal and wood furnishings. Completely renovated spacious studio apartment with separate sleeping area and private entrance. Gorgeous new bathroom with marble walls and stone tile floor. Grounds and apartment filled with sculptures and art from Haiti, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Bali, and Thailand. Our main house has been operating as a private (by appointment) art gallery for over 30 years. (The only reason we don't call this a small one bedroom is because we chose to separate the bedroom from living area with curtains instead of a door cause we like the flow better!)
This is not a shared space, it is your own private apartment that is the downstairs unit of the main house. You are welcome to use the backyard, pool, hot tub, and cabana.
Centrally located with many restaurants and the best margaritas in town, all within walking distance. 10-minute walk to Runyon Canyon for spectacular hiking. 5-10 min drive to groceries, shopping, restaurants. 35-40 min drive to the beach. So much to do here.
Parking permit provided free.

My friend and I loved this home! The house was central to everything we planned for our girls trip. Carine was very warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!!

My wife & I spent 4 nights in this wonderful space. The space is very well appointed & the hosts were very gracious. We loved the art in and around the apartment, house & backyard, and enjoyed the gazebo every evening for a bit of relaxation. The neighborhood is wonderful - an oasis in the middle of W. Hollywood! We will definitely stay again when we return to LA.

Beautiful and peaceful artistic retreat! Centrally located. Excellent hosts. Definitely request an appointment to check out the beautiful art gallery upstairs!

We loved our stay. Carine & Pascal were terrific hosts. The unit was just as it appeared online. Anyone who knows LA, this is “the it” neighborhood. Within walking to Runyon Canyon…it’s also a historic district so walking around all of the Los Angeles bungalows was a treat.

The property is conveniently located in West Hollywood close to Hollywood Blvd and all its attractions. Super clean with an amazing display of metal sculptures and other art pieces.

We had a wonderful stay. The property was clean and as advertised. Perfect for our needs. Within walking distance of all Hollywood history, but nestled in a quiet, secure established residential area. Would visit again.

This is in a perfect location to visit lots of amazing places. The place is super cozy & artsy. We did not hang out in the backyard, but it is super cute. Wonderful hosts so helpful and friendly. You will love it!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely studio. The art work was an added bonus. Parking on the street worked out just fine with the parking permit. Hosts responded very quickly and with graciousness when we had questions. We would love to stay again.

I met my husband in LA for a long weekend to visit friends and celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary after spending a few days at a conference on the West coast. Booking our non-refundable stay was easy and a welcome email with instructions gave us everything we needed to check-in and what to expect.
My plan was to have a day of relaxation and recovery before hitting the town but on the day we arrived I received an email from the VRBO owner that there “might be some digging in the backyard” which would make the backyard unusable.
When we arrived we found the entire backyard (located just outside of the door to the VRBO) completely unusable due to the owners having a pool installed. While not the end of the world, it was disappointing and soured our experience. Also, there were so many flies inside! Not sure if this was because of the digging but regardless it was annoying.
Overall, we made the best of it but had I known the cozy backyard was unavailable I would not have booked it as there were plenty of other similar options available.
This VRBO is in a good location with easy parking however and would be a good “landing spot” for those not planning on spending much time at the home.

This property was very close to everything in Hollywood. My wife and I stayed there during a trip to universal studios. I would recommend for anyone who wants a cozy room with close proximity to many Hollywood attractions.

Just as described, perfect for a couple. Neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe, parking was easy on the street right in front of the house. Hosts were lovely and helpful. Central location for LA sightseeing. Plenty amenities within walking distance. Very clean. Only (very slight) downside was not great water pressure in the shower, but it was fine. Would definitely stay again. Really enjoyed the yard for morning coffee and the hot tub at night.

My daughter and I were planning a trip from Michigan to LA for spring break. We found this amazing apartment on VRBO and immediately thought "that's the place for us!" It's super cute and located centrally to everything we wanted to do. We took a 32-mile bike tour featuring the homes of the rich and famous, plus Santa Monica and Venice Beach; visited Little Tokyo where we enjoyed the Six Taste Food tour and stamped the Ireicho at the Japanes American Museum; went to Disneyland; strolled the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and dined at In & Out burger (both of those walking distance from the apartment). We wrapped up with a taping of the Jennifer Hudson Show. The owners provided excellent instruction for check-in and check-out, even when we arrived at 4:00 a.m. due to travel delays, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and fresh coffee. We highly recommend! Thanks again.

This place is charming and encapsulate fun, quirky Hollywood. It is a unique stay in a centralized area that I rented for my parents for a weekend trip. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a little more space, an outdoor area and uniqueness/charm compared to staying in a hotel in this area. The hosts are very kind and easy to reach. A few things to note for further description of the unit- not bad, just different than what we were expecting. This is a studio, not a one bedroom apartment. The bed area does include a curtain that closes to section it off as seen in the photos, but it is not a separate room. This unit is located downstairs in a basement style apartment underneath a deck off the main house. There is still plenty of light in the unit and a lot of nice windows/window coverings, but you walk down a few stairs to get to the unit and standing up in the unit you will be looking out at the level of the ground. The bathroom and kitchen were very nice and the access to laundry was a great plus! My parents really enjoyed their stay and I would recommend this cute oasis in the city. Thanks Carine and Pascal!

We had a great stay at Carine's apartment. The place is set back from the street and very quiet. There is a beautiful back yard that is accessible to the guests. Paintings inside the apartment and objects of art, mostly made of metal, make this listing truly "artsy". Will be back!

This place was a great find (perfect location and price) before we even get to the extras. It was exactly as described and the perfect home away from home for a week. The extras make it one of the best VRBO rentals I’ve had. The hot tub is in an amazing little nook of greenery that makes it feel even more out of the city (while being centrally located). Incredible art and sculptures surround you. It was the small things (bathrobes, fresh fruit, and wine) that made it feel like we hadn’t left home. Parking was a breeze.
The hosts were wonderful with recommendations for nearby hikes (walk to Runyon Canyon) and restaurant ideas.
Book this ASAP - you’ll be so happy you did!

While this lovely home is just blocks from Hollywood sights, great restaurants and coffee shops, it is on an idyllic, tree-lined street that is quiet and verdant, with easy street parking.

The property is just as described: artistic, serene,
well-appointed and very comfortable. It was the best VRBO experience I’ve had in LA! There’s plenty of street parking, and though you’re only a block from Subset Blvd. it feels as if you’re in a quiet, secluded country setting. Amazing. I’ll definitely stay again.

Gem in a fabulous location
I had a perfect week in this glorious space.
Not only was check in, check out, parking simple, but the space is glorious; from the luxuriously comfortable bed, linens, towels, robes, to the rain shower, splendid artwork inside and out, hot tub, hand made tiki hut. Every detail in this home is thoughtful.
I was looking for a quiet place to explore by foot Hollywood and West Hollywood and this location (with and without a car) did not disappoint. There is a grocery store a quarter mile or so away plus amazing restaurants a block or 2 away as well as easy access to canyons to hike or walk the neighborhoods. I walked many many miles and was in my heaven.
Thank you Pascal and Carine for your hospitality and sharing your space. I loved everything about my stay and will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carine's. She was there to greet us. The unit is quiet, clean and very interesting. Having the back garden with gazebo and hot tub was a real treat. We walked to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and tried a couple of the restaurants Carine recommended. We highly recommend this place! Greg and Jill
