Staff is nice... if you can find one.
view is nice.
First of all, if you like to swim, either you go to the dreadful pool (+pay $30 pp) or crowded beach at the end of the seaweed graveyard, which carries a strong fish smell. .
Second, the check-in system was painful. When we arrived at 1 pm, check-in time starts at 3 pm, whilst over 100 people waiting in queue. (And you need a Korean phone number to join the queue)
Also... if you are person who loves good wines and fine dining, you better pack your own meal and drinks- there is nothing other than average Korean meal and hamburg chain called 'Lottelia' which makes you miss McDonald's.
Finally, if you stay at the condo, be prepared for garlic smell. I am Korean, who is well trained for garlic stinks, but this was a new level. Had to leave the window open the whole day.
Overall, we checked out at 8 a.m., keen to move to the next destination. Think it was the first when we refused long sleep in the morning during our vacation.

Location by the sea
All facilities are chargeable. How is it a resort when you have to pay just to use the swimming pool?
4.5
Everything: location, facilities, amenities for baby (e.g baby bottle sterilizer, bed safeguard, cribs etc.,) & esp. the staffs
Staying at a resort type room requires extra charges for the entrance to the swimming pool & the rent for bed safeguard, baby bathtub, or baby bottle sterilizer

The pool is not included hotel price. Water park too. Check in time is too late 15.00 not only this hotel all korean hotels same. It’s very bad decision i think. Need to change.
4.5
Comfort and location.
The access to the swimming pool should be included in the hotel faire.

Nice location for hikes in the national park. The ocean view from the room was great and the room was spacious. The parking facilities were for free.
The hotel feels very cold and anonymous. It wasn’t much stuff visible. All pool areas needed extra payment, although if you just want to use the „normal“ pool and not the aqua park.
2.5
The facility was very clean and the staff was very nice.
The guest wifi in the main portion of the resort was substandard. We arrived early in the day and I was trying to work remotely, I was continuously disconnected.
There were only 2 restaurants in the, very large, hotel/resort. One was a buffet and one was a pub of sorts. There was also a poolside bar, that only had beer and substandard food options.
The entrance to Infinity pool was right off the lobby, perfect! You would think so, but not really…..you have to go down 2 levels from the lobby, walk through the entrance to the water park, through the shower area and then down a long hallway, then back up 2 flights of stairs. Oh, and you cannot wear your flip flops, you must take them off! 🤦♀️
Once at the pool, you have to pay for Lou ge chairs and an umbrella. Towels are free at the desk, but you have to return them to the water park!?!? And the pool is only 3 feet deep!
Last but not least, the hotel rooms are lovely, bed and bath is amazing. There are no glasses, only paper. There are 2 places on the resort to buy wine, but no glasses on the rooms. It appears you are supposed to drink wine / champagne out of paper cups.
The rooms also have amazing balconies, yet not furniture on them. We took our table and chair outside so we could enjoy the space.
I realize this is a place for families, but with a little work, it could be so much more.

We enjoyed the convenience of the hotel. There were many, many amenities for everyone to enjoy. My child loved the water park. There is an arcade, mini golf, laundry facility, as well as karaoke. You can hike on the trail, hang out on the beach, and work out if you want. We had multiple places to eat and a 7-11 convenience store that had everything we needed. Our ocean view from both rooms were amazing! The rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious.
You have to pay to use majority of the facilities, but you are not paying any resort fees. So, we weren't bothered by it. But I can see how some people may dislike having to pay for everything.

Everything! Seriously Everything.
Pool and jacuzzi were just like warm. not sure if that is intentional, a little cold for our comfort as such. But, the view Holy Moly, it was a treasure. A Blessing. much gratitude to have seen that and experience the view. and the walking trails!!!!!! OH MY Gosh. Amazing.
2.5
The property is beautiful with easy access to stairs down to the beach, walkways, and fresh fish restaurants. The beach view is beautiful from the hotel rooms.
I was appalled to find out that in order to use any of the marketed amenities, there is a separate fee. There is a fee to use the Waterpark, a fee for the sauna, fee for the kids indoor playarea.... there is even a fee for extra towels. Also, most of their amenities close at 7 pm.
I feel like we paid for an empty hotel room kind of stay. We didn't utilize anything else because of the fees or the early closing times. We booked a family condo. We received two twin beds and then two floor padded mats in the second room for our children to sleep. We didn't even get 2 Queen sized beds. We will stay somewhere else next time. This resort was most expensive per night than all the neighboring resorts but it was disappointing.

The location is excellent. The scenery is wonderful. The facility is very clean and new. Staff members are very nice and friendly.
We stayed a condo and the utensils are not sufficient remarkably compared to the other average Airbnb in US. The price is high.

There is a scenic path right in front of the hotel.

the room was nice, comfortable
the times for accessing different activities were too restrictive. breakfast was 35,000 but most food was cold, and the pastries were dried out. coffee comes from an automatic machine. the one I used spit coffee and milk everywhere including my leg. the staff was not helpful, no follow up about how our stay was or how the meal was. it’s like they know it’s bad.

Location is great and facilities are clean with an amazing view
The front desk and check in process could be dramatically improved. They don’t accommodate early check ins and expect people to wait till 3pm to the dot to check in at 2 self serve kiosks with 3 front desk attendants for a resort with hundreds of rooms. It makes zero sense. The whole process creates a massive bottle neck in the lobby with a swarm of people. It really makes the experience feel like I’m checking into some courtyard Marriott or another sub-3 star hotel. Specifically I found the manager Ki Jun Im particularly inhospitable. I was visiting from NY and in Seoul for just several days and he was insistent on not accommodating even a 20 min early check in when my room was ready for over an hour!! Do not understand the point of such a silly policy especially if as a result a swarm of guests are just waiting in the lobby to check in during a pandemic. Apart from this terrible process the resort was otherwise fine but if a Shilla comes to this area I would go there in a heartbeat because the quality of stay considering how lacking the hospitality was really not worth the money spent.

Great location. Close to the main beach - walking distance, only 1.4 km away from the hotel. Great ocean view.
We didn't enjoy the infinity pool. The main reason I booked this place was the pool, but it was so crowded with so many kids in swimming floaties!

just the view is great and the bed are great.
expensive, no breakfast included, a very few people speak English, water park was about 50 usd, and it's ridiculous that they charge extra for towels and swimming cap and they tell you this after you buy the ticket, it's like charging extra for napkins at a restaurant! food is average and overpriced. bathtub is small, if you are 1.80mt half your body will be out, bathroom door didn't close well so water came out from the shower, shower is made of cheap material. the sofa is uncomfortable. building is new and looks good.

The location is right on the beach, so if you are interested in walking on the beach this is a great option. It is also a 15 minute drive to Naksansa temple. Our hotel room was as-advertised and clean. We could hear louder guests, but ultimately the room was solid. I would note that if you book an "apartment," this is considered to be separate from the hotel, meaning you cannot use the pool, gym, and other amenities.
The hotel does not allow you to check in until 3 pm, which I knew in advance of booking. However, they wait until 3pm for all guests and require you to pick a number for when check-in begins. This means there is a line of close to 70 groups waiting to check in simultaneously when check in begins. I have some Korean skills and was able to navigate, but for those booking here without Korean language skills, note that no hotel staff were able to assist in English during our check-in/out (in the restaurant we visited our waiter spoke English). That said, the staff were kind and helpful. For coffee/snacks, I would recommend purchasing from the 7-11 in the basement as the coffee at the lobby cafe was expensive (7,000 won) and undrinkable (It tasted a bit like shrimp/fish water, so perhaps there was an issue with the water used. To be safe I didn't try to drink it after tasting it). Additionally, while clean and featuring a great view, the restaurant (R9Pup) was sold out of several items when we visited. All in all I think this hotel is an affordable, clean place to stay in Sokcho, but it is not a luxury resort.
4.5
The hotel was excellent, with lots of facilities. The games room is fun and the convenience store is large. We enjoyed R.9PUP foortop pub, which is an unusual and welcome facility in a hotel.
The breakfast is too expensive and the cooked food not warm enough. Also, you need an additional coffee machine, as the current ones are very busy. Perhaps open the lobby cafeteria before 9am so that people have an additional breakfast option?
3.5
The location is fantastic only.
Some towels were dirty, didn't wash properly. The quality of utensils like really small, thin paper cups provided. It is not for the hot tea. I have to use several cups to drink hot tea or coffee. It feels like the middle level of the motel.
I went to the Beach Rosort in Jongdong-jin next day which was the less price. The Beach Resort was real hotel!!! Please upgrade the quality of the hotel.

The view and the location on top of the hill is beautiful. The hotel is nicely designed, rooms are spacious and well thought out. The staff was very friendly and we didn’t have to ask the missing towels for our child. The kid cafe in the hotel was also impressive.
The temperature control was a little hard to work with. There is only one cartoon channel. And if you don’t have a car, walking up and down hill is tiring, even if there is a small port with local seafood restaurant at the foot of the hill. Also almost all restaurants inside the hotel were closed when we visited so that means you might have to be prepared to go out for food or stop by the 7/11 inside the hotel.

The hair dryer has to be upgraded! it takes forever

Location , the hotel very clean , professional staff , the resort includes many facilities such as 7/11 store and many restaurants and cafes in the basement.
The check in at 3 pm and check out at 11 am was not fair , and if you want to extend few hours more , you must pay almost 75 dollars.
