The location is great for Amsterdam & the balcony rooms are great to stay & chill in.
No lift which can make it difficult when you have a lot of luggage. Shared showers could do with freshening up or en suite rooms.
3.7
Great staff, good location, good facilities.
The stairs are rocklike, no elevator.

L’emplacement

Beds were so comfortable and you can go inside and outside with your keys whenever you want
Quality of the shampoos

Great value and location. The rooms are small but functional and clean. It’s close enough to the museums and parks and there’s a supermarket downstairs.
Pillow is too big.

The beds were so comfortable, we didn't want to leave some days. The room was a decent size and well equipped. The person at reception gave us a kettle and some mugs on arrival, which was very appreciated. The location if the hotel is exceptional for the price, 10 minute walk (depending on your ability) to the centre, a tram stop right outside the door.
The shared bathroom was what we expected. Clean but well used.

The location was fine near the tram and easy walking distance to shops etc.
I hated the stairs especially because I had two suitcases and no help is given. I think a warning should be given at the time of booking about the stairs or people given an option for lower floor if they have heavy luggage.

Good staff, good selection of continental breakfast. Very close to centre!
The fact I'm disabled and had to go up four flights of very steep winding stairs in the building and a large set out the front wasn't the greatest but, luckily I only done 1 night there or I would have been screwed as they are killer even for my healthy non disabled dad.

The connection to RAI exhibition centre for me was most important - brilliant. Tram stops outside hotel, both ways -3 stops, connects to metro, 2 stops - all the stress of getting across Amsterdam removed. Perfect!! Hotel staff were very pleasant, location very good for local shops and great local cafe bar to watch the world go by. Will make this my 'go-to' hotel for all future trips ( so, please - no-one else book it when I'm going!! Joking obvs.) Paul
You get what you pay for....so at top of building on sunny day, rear side soaks up the heat and with no air con....can be a bit hard to sleep. Room is very basic, and really only for sleeping - functional. But overall, not enough of an issue to outweigh all the other benefits.

Very cozy! Loved the interior
I would’ve loved some air conditioning

For 1 star, the hotel was better than we expected. We had a triple room with a shared bathroom, but it felt private because the bathroom was right outside our door. It was also pretty clean, but was a wet room. I liked the breakfast, the juices were proper juice and there was cereal, bread and some cold meats. I also enjoyed seeing the local cat resident!
The breakfast could have done with a toaster as we had to just have bread everyday. The stairs were also very steep, although this is the same throughout amsterdam so can't really complain.

Good price point. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. Breakfast was satisfactory. The girl that helped me with the check in was very nice. They have a cat!
Dirty carpet, bathroom wasn't clean, litter below the bed

The staff are amazing! Every single one was very kind. There is a Albert Heijn market below, which is great. Also another one very close. And a tram station for line number one right in front of the hotel. Decent space in the triple room. The room is equipped with a hair dryer.
The main problem was that the breakfast only goes from 8am to 10am, which makes Day Trips impractible, as you generally need to leave early to enjoy your day in another city. This could really be improved.
If you plan to arrive very early in the day and leave your bags at the reception: don't do it, as the reception isn't 24/7: opens from 8am to 11pm: they say there is someone there for emergencies, but we weren't told how to contact them (do we knock really hard on the door, or scream? - we didn't need so we made no further inquiries, but it is something the staff could be oriented to say upon guests' arrival). If you're worried about check-out at times the reception isn't open, this isn't really a problem, as the reception doors have a special box to return your keys.
They only provide one key, but make it possible to do a deposit of 10 euros to get an extra one. As the shower box is kind of small, the curtain on the shower was always wet, which was bothersome when using the toilet.
They don't have face towels or floor cloths (to step on after showering), only bath towels. You can always ask for an extra one though.
On one ocasion we didn't leave the "Do not Disturb" sign hanging and the room wasn't cleaned... as far as we know the standard procedure would be to clean the room, with no need to leave the Green/Clean side of the sign hanging outside. This could easily be improved.
Be aware that this hotel, as it happens with many in Amsterdam, doesn't have elevators, so be prepared to climb stairs with your luggage at least one floor to the reception and one to three more floors to the rooms (there are no rooms in the same floor as the reception). The stairs are somewhat steep.

Location excellent for Paradiso and sight seeing , room was good value and everywhere very clean , breakfast was very good and staff friendly and welcoming
Beds a little uncomfortable, could do with extra pillows , was noisy due to having to have window open as very warm weather / hot room
3.7
Staff was very nice.
Bed sheets were stained, dirt on the wall, everything pretty run down. I would not complain if I had paid 30€ per night - but 100€ per night is brazen. One clearly pays for being in Amsterdam, and not for having nice facilities.

Looks better on pictures, location is excellent. There were no vegetables for breakfast, no croissants

1. The gentleman kindly allowed us to use the kitchen to wash our stuff.
2. We could relax in the common room even after we had completed the checkout process.
3. The room was clean and it had a nice view.
1. We didn't have our own bathroom.
2. The room/toilet might need some renovation..
3.7
Staff were reasonable with the refund
It was dirty, stained sheets and pillows. Hair in the shower. Dust. Weird marks on the ceiling. Not enough room to open the door from the corridor and the door to my room so people kept knocking into our door disturbing us. Shower too close to the toilet. Shared balcony felt very unsafe
3.7
The people at the reception were very polite and friendly. We could store the luggage after check out on our last day in a room which was also locked. This way we could spend a few more hours in Amsterdam whithout having to carry our luggage. Very convenient!
