Don't book if you want to get to sleep prior to 4am

Location is excellent, staff were nice, beds were okay. Main benefit is the location.

I'm sorry guys but the noise here was absolutely horrendous. The room I was right above a bar (I think like overhanging the actual bar) with the only noise barrier being a very thin window. There were drunk people shouting, screaming, singing, arguing at the top of their lungs continuously for hours until the very early hours of the morning. It was impossible to sleep, like impossible. I think they were finally all kicked out at around 4am, definitely not before 3am. For context, I am not at all sensitive to this sort of stuff and of course I knew full well it was near a bar but this was so much louder than expected. I've slept in tents at music festivals, plus my flat that I live in is above a music venue so I'm used to a bit of noise outside and drunk people when trying to sleep but this was next level. Deafening. It was basically like they were in the room with you, you could hear every word of their drunk conversations, everything. I mean, even with noise cancelling earplugs, I think it would be a struggle. I also paid almost £90 for the privilege which in hindsight was a bit of a rip off, seeing as I was in a shared room with eight other people and I couldn't even get a peaceful nights sleep. It's also quite difficult to find as there's no signage.

Great location

We had a private twin room and it was as expected for a hostel. Was nice to have your own bathroom and beds were comfy enough. Staff were super friendly. Location is great!

The shower was a bit fiddly to get to a not boiling vs not freezing temp but otherwise good.

Does the job :)

Have stayed several times, chosen mainly for the cheap costs. It's good location, there's storage for belongings, staff always friendly and helpful. Have no issues with security.

beds can be uncomfortable, its pot luck. Not always vacuumed down the mattress, but hey it's cheap digs!

Micro econ double - Bit disappointed as have great previous experiences

Economy micro double room. Quiet room.Mattress was comfy and I slept well.

I have stayed in the dorms and the suites, but I thought this room was the lower end of value for money. Mainly because it had a good size bed frame, but the mattress was smaller than the frame itself. The fan worked, but did not rotate and the light bulb in the lamp was dead. Curtains were broken and stained with rust or water. Bit of a shame as I have great experiences with the dorms and the suite. Still need recycling facilities.

Todo perfecto

Absolutamente todo, mi inglés no es muy bueno, pero me hicieron sentir muy cómoda con eso. La comunicación fue clara, te hacen sentir bienvenidx. En general es muy tranquilo, el internet es bueno para trabajar, las camas super cómodas, los baños son perfectos para las habitaciones compartidas, pero lo más importante, el personal es muy amable.

Linda zona - demasiado ruido

Esta muy bien ubicado cerca de todo, se puede mover fácilmente caminando.

Los fines de semana es casi imposible dormir, nos toco viernes y sábado y la música de abajo estaba tan alta que sentíamos las vibraciones, se entiende que es por la zona, pero era demasiado. Le falta un poco de ventilación

Excellent short stay in bustling popular area with comfy beds.

I like the way the room was set out. Felt very private, and the beds were roomy, comfortable and had a lot of privacy. Great location and near stations etc.

Kitchen and lounge area could have been a bit tidier/cleaner. I thought this was more the fault of the guests rather than staff.

Excellent value for money

Walking distance from many attractions. Front desk girl extremely nice and helpful. Read some reviews about rude staff and i can tell nothing to do with her. There’s another woman who i met working before check in time. She wouldn’t face customers.

Heating was just ok during very cold nights, i wish it could be warmer, but was ok

Good location and good value for money

Good location, clean, comfy, beds with curtains

Wanted to have a coffee at the morning but receptionist told me it’s not possible (probably there was no person to take care of the coffee machine)… but few minutes later he was making a coffee from the same machine for his friends… would be nice if he could make it for me as well as it was 1st day of Christmas so all coffee places were closed. I have to ask for a free check-in drink as the receptionist told me nothing about it. Only figured out thanks to the information in the elevator

La posizione è ottima. Il letto comodo e anche la doccia.Non cè asciugacapelli e danno asciugamani.

Sotto il letto ho trovato della sporcizia ( cèera un tappo di un bicchiere grande e altra "spazzatura")

Pleasant

Friendly staff, great location.

Beds are not comfortable and you can't open the windows, which is not great in summer. It's also very basic for the price, but its in the city centre so this location is reflected in the price. Having to download an app to check-in is a pain, this was a one-off trip and I am unlikely to use this hotel again so the app was just using up storage on my phone and deleted straight away.

Clean bed linen and friendly staff

Lots of maintenance related issues, such as the fire alarm hanging by its wires from the ceiling. Or the shower screen with its broken parts left to the side. Also the lack of soundproofing in a very noisy location.

Mould in bathrooms, stains on sheets and curtains on bed. Rubbish under mattress and behind beds.

well worth the money and definitely would stay again.

our one night was good, comfortable enough and would stay again. the free drink in the bar next door was a bonus that we didn't expect. after our night out we returned to the hotel late at 1 am and was welcomed in by the friendly staff.

nothing really. all was good, great location for the center of the city and all things to do. the only thing that was odd was that the number to our room was hung upside down, more funny than anything and gave us a laugh.

Loved it bang in the middle of the northern quarter ten minutes walk to train station

Great colourful funky boho neighbourhood with relaxed outdoor cafes and bars and Selina is like an upmarket hostel with a colourful kitchen, outdoor patio area attached to restaurant bar to smoke or drink and relaxing lounge areas to work on laptop great 24/7 staff and nice coffee available at reception with free lemon water would stay there again bedroom bathroom spotless with lovely thick mattresses, luxury shower gel, cream and fresh towels you also get a free alcoholic drink in bar which was a nice surprise

Lift needs cleaned more often as reception and rooms are spotless it makes a bad impression and front door is a bit hard to find as it looks like a window and we walked past it a few times room windows don't open so was v warm but there was a fan to cool us down but these are minor issues we were very pleased overall

excellent location, staff were always helpful 24/7, everything was exactly what you expect from a hostel

the shared dorm bunks have these weird shelves above the legs leaving a small amount of room to move around, it made moving around in bed slightly uncomfortable

Not worth the money

Great Location, very comfy bed

No bin. Window did not open. No plugs in the plugholes. Light above sink did not work. No Aircon and as window did not open was so hot and stuffy for such a small room!! Shower knob fell off, we notified a staff member who said maintenance had left and she would call the manager. Heard nothing then for the rest of the stay. Tried the shower again in the morning and the whole door completely came off the hinges!! Complained to the front desk but each time we went to the desk or came in and out of the residence (atleast 5 times), there was a different person there and clearly no communication between them about the issues we were facing. Still waiting to hear back from a manager about a refund as the room was appalling considering we paid extra for private facilities. We were also not notified of where the shared facilities (coffees, fridge etc) were until we happened to stumble on them after forgetting the way out. Would have been handy to know!!

Would come back.

Slept like babies. Loved the location. Good view. Lovely staff! Pretty much everything you need.

Shower was FREEZING both nights. Other than that perfect stay. Not much storage.

Not the Selina experience I was expecting

Staff are really nice and friendly. There’s also the Selina vibe amongst the guests and everyone was very polite and quiet. It’s in a really good location, near the main street with lots of pubs and eateries nearby.

The kitchen was filthy. Although I saw the staff cleaning there, all the surfaces were sticky, with lots of dust and the cutlery was dirty too. I had to wash it before using it. There was also lots of noisy, from engines, aircon and also the bar downstairs.

Overall, I like the Selina and if I have opportunity to visit Manchester again I will lodge there.

Friendliness of the staff and the comfortable bed. Staff are approachable and considerate also.

The toilet wasn't as clean as expected.
