The beds were really comfortable. The room was quiet, didn't hear the young farmers bash at all.
Breakfast was below par, but then there was just one poor student trying to cope by himself. I presume some staff had not turned up after the night before. Poached eggs like golf balls !

The room was fantastic, a good size with wonderful views, the bed was comfortable, the food exceeded expectations.
The beer was off, but they were happy to replace it with something else.

Location was very picturesque. Only 30 minutes from Exeter. Breakfast was good. Grounds were impressive.
The property looks great from outside but is rather dated inside and is in need of a facelift. We were on the third floor and there was no lift! We are in our mid 70s as were most of the other guests so stairs were a bit of a problem. The dinner menu was very ordinary.

Nothing was a nice ride, didn’t fall out

Room was clean and nice refurbished bathroom.
Asked for a table to be reserved for breakfast in the lounge for myself and my dog, it was not and had to ask twice for a table to be set up.

So quite just perfect for a good nights sleep after a long day.. food was excellent.. staff were great
The location is very good tho I think it could be hard to access at times of bad weather.. but this doesn’t mean it’s a fault of the hotel.. the views in the morning are super.. bed was made and comfortable.. I will definitely be returning to this hotel at some time in the future
Nothing.. maybe accessibly but that’s not as much as a distraction

The room was a good size and clean. The location is fantastic as was the view, and this hotel looks very good from the outside.
Inside the restaurant, the bar and sitting room have zero atmosphere and are a total letdown. We stupidly decided to eat there on the first night. The food is diabolical and super-expensive for what can only be described as very sub-standard!!
For example, a Lamb Shank is £31!!! My wife had Chicken Supreme (£20)..a white piece of meat with a bought-in sauce and a few mushrooms poured partially over it. Roasted vegetables were 90% onions and a couple of peppers. The two very young staff, alone, were working hard. One got very confused about our wine order, and obviously had no idea what was on their menu. They need a proper chef!

Really nice setting, bed was comfy.
Staff had no customer service skills when i checked in before even saying welcome here’s your room number, breakfast starts at 7.30 etc she handed me the card machine to pay, also no one at the bar had to go and find someone, in the end the cook served. Rooms are not that good certainly getting charged for surroundings.

Wonderful views and quiet location

Very quiet
Very difficult to reach the place, through narrow roads. There was noise from the kitchen and we asked to change the room

Beautiful location near an amazing garden, Haldon Grange. Staff were helpful. Good food.
Bit dated. could go with refurbishment but clean and good value.

The setting, idyllic. Room is clean, bed fine..Staff are great, Even the locals are friendly with no Wicker man in site!
Put IDE in your sat nav as an intersection. This way you reach the hotel via a narrow but passable lane. If you come in the "othet" way which my satnav sent me, breathe in, pray nothing coming the other way and on arrival a stiff drink

Well kept garden. Nice building.
A room for 2 people should have 2 easy chairs. Carpets needed a bit of attention on stairs.

Great views and gardens from the location.
Bathroom smelt like a drain. The carpets throughout the hotel look grubby and 40 years old. Breakfast was expensive so we didn’t bother.

Breakfast & dinner were good. The staff were charming. The ambience was good.
There was no light over the dressing table mirror. In the large bedroom room there could have been another wardrobe, or dressing table. We used the floor a lot for our things. We would have preferred a bath to a shower.

lovely location and they provided vegan choices
nothing really

Room was near end of corridor but below was bar out side door. Noice was heard from our bedroom. Garden view from our window bedroom. Just perfect for Hybrit car charger as the lication of hotel far from petrol station.
.
Not many staff around when you need it. Specially not enough milk and coffee in the room. The room not been cleaning over the weekend.

Stayed at this hotel for one night before continuing on to Cornwall.
It's set in beautiful countryside with fabulous views.
The hotel is nice and clean, and our bedroom was very spacious with a lovely comfortable bed.
The bathroom is all white marble and very modern. A real pleasure too use.
Our evening meal was very nice, breakfast was excellent.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
I would use this hotel again for one or two nights.
The only downside was a guest with two dogs who allowed them to jump up and lie on the velour covered seating leaving dog hair all over the furniture.
The owner should know better.
Didn't spoil our stay though, just found it annoying.

Very nice room with a view of the country fields. This hotel has beautiful and well kept gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful. A good selection on the menu. We had breakfast and an evening meal here. Plenty of parking space.
Everything good.

Excellent supper

Beautiful setting, large car park, great breakfast (other than the weak coffee!)
Hotel was very dated and tired, with thin walls so we could easily hear the neighbouring room! Road to hotel is also full of pot holes!

location was stunning, excellent views of the countryside. Pet friendly, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
The drive to the property has lots of potholes in the road, but the parking area is perfect.

I like the hotel and the location in the countryside.
The restaurant is open 6-9pm. I got there at 8.15 to be told that they had sold out. I had to drive several miles to get something to eat.
My room was up 5 sets of stairs with no lifts.
It appeared that they only had one member of staff on, with the poor guy having to do everything.
I appreciate that the hotel is dog friendly, but someone's dog was barking continuously.
In short, the hotel is understaffed and understocked. With some basic management, this hotel could be amazing.
I stayed here at Christmas and I really enjoyed it.

So peaceful.
No hot water in arrival in room, but staff were outstanding and moved me to another room immediately which was perfect. Apart from that couldn't fault our stay.

Dinner was awful but the staff were lovely. The room we had was right at the end of corridors without fully opening windows; it made me feel claustrophobic! We went out for breakfast later... Bathroom tiles could do with steaming. Beautiful countryside location.
