Very disappointing stay - overpriced, under-delivery - cannot be recommended!

Comfortable mattress. Spacious

1. We booked a King Room on 03 July 2024 (3 months prior to our visit). Yet on arrival at the hotel were told that the King Room was not available and that we'd be upgraded to a room with two double beds at no extra charge. I was not happy, but having travelled long distances and with my wife in particular being tired, decided to accept the "upgrade" to something we did not want and had not booked! We ended up an interleading room next to noisy neighbors. This surely would not have been the case in the King Room (see Booking confirmation number: 4998.740.447 from Booking.com and email from Hilton reservations dated 04 September 2024 confirming that our booking was on the system). Despite efforts by a Hilton Hotel employee on night duty (who was met with a very aggressive response), the noise continued well into the hours of the next morning. Our disappointment at not being given the King Room which we booked and paid for only got worse. The following morning I requested that we be moved, which was kindly arranged and the new room served our purpose. We effectively lost a day of our short 3 day visit to see family who have relocated from South Africa to the UK. 2. At no point did we have any contact with hotel management. 3. The shower over the bath is awkward to use, is dangerous as it becomes slippery, and certainly not what one would expect from a 4 star Hilton Hotel. 4. Far too few drawers and shelves and in truth far from 4 star standard. 5. Besides the efficient and friendly lady who arranged our move to another room, the staff generally were bordering on being unfriendly. SADLY I WILL NOT BE USING HILTON CRAWDON AGAIN. WE HAD COME TO LONDON FROM THE NETHERLANDS WHERE HAD STAYED IN PROPER 4 STAR ACCOMMODATION AT A LOWER DAILY RATE, INCLUDING BREAKFAST, AND POSITIVE STAFF. MY OPINION OF THE HILTON CROYDON IS THAT THE MINIMUM IS BEING DONE TO ENSURE GUEST HAPPINESS, THAT GUESTS ARE TROUBLESOME AND SHOULD BE GRATEFUL TO BE STAYING AT THE HOTEL.

Overall experience not bad but need more improvement in some areas

The rooms is neat but need more improvement also need to provide smaller cooling systems to stick up our stuff.

The reception area should provide welcome Snacks as before and not selling them. Need more improvement in the breakfast as before. Things have really change. Not bad but need more room for improvement. Thanks

First time stopping in a Hilton hotel but willll definitely be stopping with them again.

The staff were lovely from the staff on the front desk , the ladies cleaning the rooms next morning AND to the gentleman at breakfast checking me in and explaining what breakfast there was. Great comfy beds and lots of room in the hotel room.

Nothing comes to mind just a 1 night stay for my trip to the capital.

Normally really like this hotel but poor sleep and rising prices will probably stop me staying again

As a general rule I actually like this hotel and have left a very glowing review for it previously. This was based however on getting a good nights sleep, cracking service in the restaurant with amazing food and a very reasonable price. Again the restaurant was fantastic but the other two elements (cost and good nights sleep) failed miserably.

As I am working regularly in Croydon I initially found this hotel via Booking.Com and the price offered including breakfast was within the budget that my company pays. Since then I have stayed a further 2 times and each time the price has gotten higher and higher (even as a Hilton Honors member) to where the last time I stayed I had to cover over £50 of my own money for a night. Add to this an American Education organisation uses this site for their coach excursions and the hotel was full of teenagers and in my particular case I appeared to get the "party" group on my floor and in particular in the adjoining room next door, as well as using the corridor as a running circuit (or that is what it sounded like). To give the reception desk credit I rang at gone midnight when the noise wasnt abating and I did hear them come up and the noise quitened for a while but then started again at around 0215 for another twenty minutes or so, by which time I was wide awake. I complained in the morning and again, to the reception desks credit they offered a form of rebate, but that hasnt made up for the lack of sleep, which when paying the monies required for this site is something of a pre-requisite in my opinion.

Bardzo dobre miejsce na kilkudniowy pobyt w celu pozwiedzania Londynu.

Bardzo dobre śniadania , trochę mało warzyw do wyboru ale wszystko świeże, smaczne i dobrej jakości. Bardzo miły i pomocny personel. Pokój czysty i zadbany. Dobra lokalizacja pod kątem komunikacji z centrum Londynu, a zarazem z dala od zgiełku miasta.

Sauna and steam are extra charge as the parking. Be aware of double charges for room if paid on booking.com as the Hilto

I was charged twice, booking.com payment with additional payment for parking at the property but the Hilton charged me for the room and parking. They were aware of the booking.com payment but charged me twice. Raise the issue at the property they informed my they would sort it, I followed it up with an email only to receive a response that it was bookings.com problem not the Hilton where in fact it was the Hilton at fault and I’m still in debate about this and no refund.

Perfect stay for our 6 year anniversary. Felt very attended to, and the decor is beautiful.

This was our second visit after Hilton dealing with our feedback very well. This experience was perfect for our anniversary, they went above and beyond to make sure this time we felt looked after, this time we used the bar area and breakfast facilities and they were lovely, and the decor and service was to a very high standard. Each employee acknowledged us and make sure we had everything we needed. The room was an upgrade from the previous time, and it was a really beautiful room, spacious and cool. The team at Hilton also went above and beyond with our requests, and they decorated the room free of charge for our anniversary and I thought this was a very nice touch. It’s the little things. The reception lady was very helpful when I wanted to pay extra to upgrade our room on the last night, and the hotel itself is close enough to restaurants, train stations, shops to walk, so you don’t need a car. However we did bring our car, and the parking area was good and under shelter. We also had breakfast, and the variety is great and caters to everyone. Overall very pleased with our stay, and we had the perfect time away for our anniversary.

A disappointment, which I was surprised about because I received info hiltons are the best

The person I was with made the experience nice, and the bed was not uncomfy.

The first night neither of us were able to sleep due to how hot the room was, we looked for a fan around 1am but couldn’t see one, so we tried to change the temperature/ put the aircon on but couldn’t work it out. So we went to reception the next day to ask for a fan and they said they didn’t have one, which is understandable but we then asked for the air con to be turned on or the room temperature to be turned down, but the guy at the desk explained it was in winter mode so couldn’t do much. He said we could open the window, so the next day we opened the window slightly and we realized it was far to loud with the traffic to be able to sleep with the noise, so I didn’t sleep to great again that night and really wanted to due to having a long drive back. Also I thought with paying a decent amount for the hotel, breakfast would be included but they said it was £19 each and then when we went to book it on the morning it went up to £25 per person because we didn’t book it the day before . Also having to pay £15.00 per night for parking, you would think there would be parking included or a discount for the space. Unfortunately I felt for £151.50 a night (£303 altogether), we both felt it wasn’t worth the money and I wouldn’t choose to stay at a Hilton again.

Great option if you are driving + Good Wi-fi

Breakfast is good. Wi-Fi is fast. The staff are very helpful. If you are driving in London, then it's a great location. They have parking onsite with lots of space. This hotel is near a commercial center with quite a few options of restaurants, within a walking distance (only 5mins walking). It's not far to East Croydon Station (about 8 mins by taxi), and from there you can take one of the express trains and be in the city center quite quickly.

Nice clean hotel apart from the air conditioning issue.

Clean nice big standard room. Owen, the male staff at the reception was awesome.

The air conditioning was set at 24 degrees and they said could not be changed due it’s it being winter and central heating so sleeping was quite uncomfortable and I had to open the window that also won’t fully open. So I won’t be shaking again due to this issue.

Location - Just 10mins drive from East Croydon Station also buses available. Bed - Extra massive, I booked a King Size room 😍 Overall all, lovely & Clean , great service from Staff.

There should be more bottled water available for guests especially during this heatwave.

Really enjoyed my stay and would return

Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. As a solo female traveller I felt well cared for . Bed was extremely comfortable . Got a bit lost in the giant feather pillows but not a critisicm. Breakfast room staff were very good and choice of breakfast was brilliant.

Think that the evening staff in the bar could have been better. They didn't seem to know whether to serve at table or the bar. Food was adequate . Slightgly limited choice. I had the Duck salad. It was a small portion. Enough for me but served on a small plate so didn't feel like an evening meal. I don't remember reading about the extra £15 a night for parking that I had to pay. Bit expensive for a hotel guest parking I thought.

Top tier breakfast and one of the best hotels in Croydon.

Very friendly staff who were courteous and polite. Room was very big and nice. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of variety and we really enjoyed this. Lots of parking too which was hugely convenient.

The room was quite hot when we got in. The thermostat didn't seem to be working, so was quite uncomfortable during the night.

el desayuno estaba muy bien

escogimos este hotel porque estaba a 1 km. del centro tal y cómo indicabais en la página de booking, luego la realidad es que estaba a 59 minutos del centro. UN ENGAÑO. teniamos hecha la reserva para 4 personas y solo teniamos toallas para 2. las camas estaban muy mal hechas y la limpieza en general muy mala, con mucho polvo en la habitación.
