Le calme et la serenité du lieu, la piscine extérieure est divine…
Dommage que la vue magnifique sur le Douro donne aussi sur la petite ville de Regua, avec des immeubles de béton très laids.

First Six Senses we visited in Europe, we have not been disappointed.
From the location, the friendliness on arrival and every time you meet someone. Always helpful and very friendly.
Perfect stay over the New Year festivities.
will come again at different season to fully enjoy the valley.
Maybe the rainy weather, but that's not the responsibility of the hotel.

It's one of those experiences you can not forget.
It was amazing in all it's details.
I'd recommend a wider range of room service menu

everything was perfect from check in to check out. The staff were amazing and a special shout-out to Simon and Nadine from the activity hub for their excellent service and customer care.

Amazing breakfast, with freshly made juices, house-made yogurts, kombucha and jams. Selection of pastries, muffins, donuts and sourdough breads. Cornucopia of fruits, nuts, granolas. Healthy options to perfectly executed crispy bacons, they have it all.
Their focus on producing herbs/vegetables in the edible garden and efforts to minimize waste/plastic usage are highly commendable, as well as beautiful.
Minibar, snacks and even port wine was offered for free in the room.
Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Communication with front office via tablet in the room wasn't always prompt or smooth (usually about 10 minutes until reply came, so I preferred to go to the front desk in person).
Unless you have your own car, it's not easy to get around - which enhances exclusivity of the property, but not that many dining options nearby the hotel.

What didn't we like!

Generally less good than other Six Senses resorts we have stayed at.
We paid over 1000 euros per night for a room with terrace and river view. It turned out that the river view was very restricted because of the very large trees blocking the entire view. This is is called “mis-selling”. We will not return.

The staff were lovely but it felt as though they were a little understaffed in the restaurant at times.

Wonderful property on an old “quinta” with plenty activities/facilities
two things that disappointed us: #1 our shower was flooding during the bath. we called for services three times but no one fixed it. in the last try on the following day, with our entire bathroom already flooded, they got it fixed. we understand such things happen but it’s unacceptable to take so long to fix it. We needed to stop our shower to avoid flooding everything. #2 we missed the tree climbing activity on the first day (we were late). We tried to schedule for the next day and never got an answer back about availability. In the end, we asked for a late checkout as we are traveling with our 10-months baby but no availability. We can completely understand it but would expect some sort of support after what happened during our stay. Besides that, everything is great but for the price we pay we would expect to have basic issues solved quickly.
