Food was a bit expensive in room service. The room had a great view of the river, and very comfortable. Shower a little small, but manageable. The location was great for shopping and dinning walking distance.

The location was great
I did 3 phone call’s in Spain and they charge me 69 euros! Also they were charging me for the wifi and a transfer I never used. At the end they change the bill but the phone was super expensive I think

I thought the hotel was the perfect combo of luxury, charm and service. While i don't know if it is the nicest hotel, it has to be in the top 3 or 4. Feels like a 5 Star hotel.

We loved the size of the rooms and the bed and towel linens. Shampoo was great too! Maid service was very reliable but when the sunlight hit our tv it was covered in dust and the room has serious mold to the point our children are congested and have sinus headaches. The rooms we had were not direct sunlight rooms so they suffered from humidity.
The breakfast should be included in the room rate. We go to our rooms through Amex and we did not have it and it is just too much 160E a day for just breakfast. Maybe an a la charge option?

Fantastic breakfast (not the same as in Berlin Adlon, but also worthy); location to the old town, new town and two city beaches; attention from the staff and excellent concierge service.

I want my beloved Maria Christina to become better:
1. The hotel is closed for the night, and you have to knock for a long time. Why close a hotel in San Sebastian? Maria Cristina is in Samoli or Haiti? Or is Francisco Franco close to the Basque country and dreaming of locating his military headquarters in the best hotel in the city?
2. Cooperation with taxi companies with unscrupulous drivers. The concierge called me a taxi to Biarritz. The staff and I made sure with the driver that he accepts cards for payment. However, upon arrival in Biarritz, he said that he only accepts cash, since in France he does not catch the Internet, and according to the driver, this is always the case. The driver lied about accepting credit cards. Dear Maria Christina, you cooperate with not the best taxi companies.

Massive room, bathroom and roof terrace, excellent restaurant and bar, pure luxury throughout

Lovely location and great sized bed which was very comfortable.
Overpriced and had to query a number of things that had found their way into our room bill. Also no tea / coffee, kettle and milk in the room unless we asked for them!!! Extraordinary for a hotel of this calibre. Also, with many tours starting at 8am, it was a shame that the weekend breakfast buffet didn’t start at 7.30am as it does during the rest of the week.

Excellent Hotel style & decor. Large rooms

on the whole the best thing about this hotel was the comfy room, the bed was so comfy and the products in the bathroom were labo which was very premium
the hotel reminded me of a posh old style London hotel, like the Dorchester or Claridges
the main thing was that there was no outside space you could sit if the sun was out, the weather was gorgeous when we were there the only place you could sit was outside the back of the entrance where there were a few tables & chairs, they did provide a drinks service but it was feeling like you were sat out on the street. As a city hotel of the price and calbre you would have expected them to create a roof top sun terrace or some sort of area for residents to sit even if theres no pool some sunbed and service would be nice.
also my usual gripe in Spanish hotels, there was no English language TV channel apart from news, which for the price we paid, which was A LOT! one or two options of channels would have been nice to have. Recently I stayed at a hotel in Italy where they had the option of Netflix & some other streaming channels, where you could log in with your own account details and watch from the TV, which I think would be relatively easy to do The hotel was very expensive it cost us about £3500 for 4 days, this was a special trip so I didnt mind and I really wanted somewhere lovely to stay, so these two points which I think are quite important, mainly the out door space situation, really let this hotel down. otherwise it was a lovely stay, staff were lovely and the breakfast was lovely There is also a lovely bar inside the hotel to have drinks before you go out. which was really nice

We loved this hotel from the minute we walked in. Reception staff faultless and very friendly. The hotel is ideally situated. The breakfast had a vast choice of hot & cold food. Our room was spotlessly clean and kept that was throughout our stay. would return in a heartbeat .
We loved everything.
