Tolles Hotel in perfekter Lage für Islandrundreise

Super Hotel, tolle Lage, sehr gutes Abendessen, alles top. Uns hat es super gefallen. Und es gibt eine Happy hour, Parkplätze ebenfalls ausreichend vorhanden.

Good value between two major attractions.

Breakfast was plentiful and lots was on offer. The toiletries provided were L'Occitane- a nice touch. The room had lots of space to unpack and store things. The restaurant has good food so you don't have to seek out dinner. There are lots of places to sit outside of your room in case you need to do that. The second floor hallways was lit by natural light which made it nice- you didn't feel boxed in and it's environmentally friendly (uses less electricity).

We stayed in 6 hotels in Iceland on our trip and this was the only one with a carpeted floor. That felt a little old/dated.

Fabulous experience at Hotel Klaustur!

Great service from the moment we walked in the door. Super clean & comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional. Would definitely recommend & would stay there again.

Surprised by facility with great rooms and dinner/breakfast options.s

I had a super salad, love the portion, we enjoyed dinner but even more well presented and delicious desserts. And it was nice to find comfy chairs after dinner to sit and play cards for a while and have some wine.

My husband and I liked everything about our stay and were pleasantly surprise with hotel so remotely located being so nice and big. Were not expecting the level of comfort it offered us. Will recommend it.

I am soo impressed with that hotel, grateful food, icelanding style very clean hotel....small and cosy...close to vatnajökull and Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon...recommender also ride to Lakagígar valley...soo beautiful...anyway hotel is grat with facilities and location

Despite the small room and mediocre beds, the lobby and bar view and service were wonderful.

For over 400 Euros the room was tiny with a view of a dumpster and an orange bicycle next to a nice field. The bathroom was a descent size, with a shower only. I hoped for a nice hot springs for the guests at the price, but there was none. The bar was a nice spot to unwind, and the service was wonderful. Dinner was descent, again the service wonderful. When the clouds cleared up the next day we were treated to a lovely view from the lobby of the mountain behind the hotel. I understand there’s a nice hike up to a lake there, as well. I wish we had the time to explore this! The most extraordinary piece of the stay for me was the service. Just prior to checking out, I tried to change my flight ticket but was unable to do so. The front desk lent me a laptop for better internet access. Then when I realized by credit card had been frozen for suspected fraud, the front desk lent me a mobile phone so I could contact my bank. Thanks to their help, I was able to connect with my bank and fix the problem, then change my flight. They were all so kind there.

The price was really quite high, the beds not so great. The room was also quite warm, perhaps a fan could help

Pretty room. Nice toiletries.

This is a Pig in Lipstick Hotel. It looks nice but is uncomfortable. Even with heat off and window open it was still way too hot. Extremely loud with other guests doors opening and closing. Breakfast was mediocre. Breakfast was 7-9:30. At 8 am scraps were left. No eggs, no bacon. This was a $500 a night room. Unacceptable

The food was excellent. Excellent the bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep.

Despite the rooms feeling a bit like a dorm room, the beds were extremely comfortable, and I had a good nights sleep. The heated floors were a bit of a surprise.

Someone gave the front desk staff a dinner bill and said to bill it to our room but we had paid for dinner the night before. The staff didn’t ask who he was and what room he was staying in. After some time they were able to delete the charges from our room, but it was not good that she ask his name and confirm his room number and check with us before charging dinner to our room. I’m concerned if someone said “I need the key to X room” they might give it to the person without even confirming they were in that room with identification.

Ok for 1 night. This is it.

Efficient, comfy loacated, food is ok for Icelandic standards.

Barthroom was dirty, shower was not cleaned appropriately, rooms are very basic. The place is far too expensive for the offered comfort and layout.

Food was excellent. Staff was also great, upbeat and super helpful. Close to several restaurants and a grocery store.

friendly staff service. we had our jackets too wet. the staff were gracious to have them dried in the dryer room and had them ready for our next day trip. night dinner they delivered to the room and for very fast.

i would say the dinner food was very good. just that the portion was small. breakfast is not vegetarian friendly. would have preferred more veg options. usually in USA, there would be baked potatoes that would be available. I didnt see this anywhere in iceland not only in this hotel. for the breakfast price, I didnt feel it is justified for us to have it

lovely stay, would definitely recommend

The reception staff couldn’t have been more pleasant. The room was very clean and just the right size. Bathroom was large with lots of room to move around. The hotel was homey and very comfortable.

Only challenge was the lighting in the bathroom, it would flicked and go out while showering. probably just needs a new light bulb.

Very good

Nicely decorated rooms, restaurant, lobby, from the inside much more beautiful than to be expected from the outside. Super friendly staff, very eager to make it possible for us to see the northern lights (which actually we did)
