This could be a good hotel but in now tired and run down
The hotel is very tired. The taps and shower need attention. The shower was virtually unusable as cold water did not run through. The lift need replacing. The hotel was very quiet and breakfast was buffet style which meant the food had been heated for a long time. Fried eggs were like plastic. We so few people staying it would be best to cook to order which would also avoid wastage.

The staff were nice
Hello the pictures that they are posting in booking don’t match the reality it’s an old hotel the room was so dirty except the bathroom

The staff were very helpful and service was good. View from room was lovely and bed was comfortable. Bar area was relaxing and dinner and breakfast was good. Lovely location for an evening walk to see the lighting of the DDay beacons.
Unfortunately we felt the whole hotel was looking a little tired and in need of a spruce up and makeover. The windows in our room were very dirty and unfortunately there was a lot of noise from the room above and next door both late into the night and early the next morning.

Poor quality breakfast, too highly priced.

Very nice hotel. Presented well. The staff were very polite and helpful. Parking was ideal we got a spot on the road right outside the hotel. parking charges were reasonable. we had a superior double, the room was spacious and had a lovely sea view. Fan and heater provided!
The bed wasn't very comfortable. Slightly too far from local attractions to walk as the weather was poor.

Location and lovely reception girl who checked us in.
Breakfast was horrible but friendly breakfast lady chef, bar staff so not friendly, can hear people steps on the corridor all night because the flooring is so noisy.ironing board in the room but no iron.

Staff and the bar
Water issue which they have addressed, breakfast was poor

Hotel was well worth the money spent. But need to sort out WiFi because the amount of people that had trouble with the parking apps. I personally had to use 2 phones just to pay for parking.
Bathroom needs to be better equipped. I.e. toilet tissue. Better access for mobility scooters. Bar should be manned throughout bar openening times instead of staff covering both the restaurant and bar. Our room was good. But needed extra toilet tissue.

Room was clean and comfortable. Everything was provided that one hoped to get on an overnight stay. Would use this hotel again.
Nothing.

Location
The restaurant service, menu on website not available, not enough for 2 people to have their 1st choice of dinner, staff not engaging. Staff cleaning our table with cutlery still on the table, so spray potentially landing on cutlery we are going to use as they sprayed around the cutlery. After using the toilet in the bedroom no soap to wash your hands with

Location was good as we were visiting Cliff's theatre.
Not much else good to report.
Having stayed in the same hotel approx 4/5 years ago, the standard has sadly dropped since then.
Bathroom was so tiny, it was virtually impossible to turn around in there.
Toilet had a macerator system that went throughout the night loudly.
Our friends staying in 2 other rooms had the same problem.
Bed was so small it was uncomfortable for 2 adults, again our friends had the same experience.
Hotel bar was closed promptly at 11pm, notice said the night staff would provide service, but no one around.
Breakfast was ok but not great.

Room layout, lighting, socket positions, chair for working with laptop. Very bad bottled water provided, tasted and smelled. Carpet needed to smell fresher.

The cost of parking was quite expensive

Great location
The shower hose was split and raised that up with the staff hoping on it being fixed and nothing happened

Staff were helpful, and on two occasions, I saw staff going to reception to sort out an issue on behalf of the guests. Room was lovely, comfortable bed, sufficient hangers. Quiet location.
The shower was disappointing - small cubicle, the shower head wasn't adjustable, so we had to squeeze into a corner to get wet and rinse off. The rest of the bathroom was fine.

near the cliff pavilion theatre
being in form the bar east closed when we got there after the show at 10.20pm main reason for staying there. last time the bar was open till 1 o’clock . a lease 10/14 unhappy guests gave up

Lovely location over looking the estuary. Parking outside the hotel is extremely handy. Lovely, helpful, friendly staff.
Little but dated decor wise.
4.0
Great location. Nice decor.
I was travelling with a disabled person, the lift access was very difficult. No walk in shower in their room, and access into the hotel at the rear to avoid the front steps was quite difficult.
3.0
the reception staff were very friendly and willing to help. The room was decent size for a family of 3 adults and 2 children. The food provided at the restaurant was of a good standard and very reasonably priced.
The room was freezing and had terrible draft from the windows. we asked for heaters but we’re told the radiator could be turned on. the radiator worked on a timer so was only on for an hour before going off and not coming back on again. The bar was poorly manned, not sure if it was due to the time of year but the staff appeared to be working in both the restaurant and bar which are located separately

right location
Service was horrendous. Nobody even at reception when we got there then we had to wait for Staff for ages. Breakfast was repulsive tasted like reheated old out of date stale food

we stayed before, love the location
room wasn’t clean, mould growing up the wall, dusty everywhere, no towels replaced and poor signal for the tv, things left from previous guests all in all i don’t think the room was checked before our stay, no offer of another room when we notified staff of the mould growing near the bed.
1.5
View from room and actual room (apart from blockage in bathroom sink!)
The buckets in reception collecting water from the leaking roof gave us a very disappointing first impression. Unfortunately it did not get any better. Hotel is very old, outdated and in need of repair. I complained about the breakfast which was cold and did not taste nice.
