Like the facilities
Shower was just a dribble and no information in the rooms about times of meals trips out etc

Eggs were cold but cappuccino excellent in Cafe. Room service arrived perfectly on time but filter coffee poor.
See above for food. Staff all terrific, helpful and friendly. Lovely spot. Heating system never attended to.

Location is beautiful, friendly staff. Lovely comfy bed. Spa is lovely! Meal and cocktails in the rib restaurant were delicious. Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.
Bathroom had a bit of a bad smell and mould on rubbers around shower glass. Was in a smaller room this time still nice but prefer the Premier rooms with robes etc included for spa also a 1 hour slot for spa wasn't long enough and breakfast wasn't worth £15

Left my fire stick in the tv and when I phoned to ask about it they said they could not find it so I was a bit disappointed

Rooms were dark and tired. At the cost I was expecting more than a 1970's hotel. The hotel relies on its golf, spa and wedding packages but was poor value.
Dark and tired accommodation. Service less than average.

Good facilities. Lovely room.
Not a friendly ambience or welcoming feel to the hotel. Only 1hr slot available in the Pool.

When we reported a light wasn't working in our original bedroom the receptionist gave us an upgrade straight away. All the staff were incredibly friendly and smiley.

The size and space of the room, the facilities within the room were excellent, and the bathroom was amazing. The leisure facilities were really good and couples cocoon spa day is a defintite recommend.
We stayed during weekdays however were still only able to book a one hour time slot to use leisure facilities, despite this not being peak times. Good choice of restaurants however the service in the two we used was very poor.

Everything I could have asked for all in one place, it was a birthday surprise for my girlfriend and she was over the moon. From the facilities to the food and to the staff everything was perfect.

Nothing much.
Time available for use of facilities.
The room was very standard for the price I paid.
Hair dryer blew up.
Staff at spa reception were very rude.

Old and not very clean rooms, lighting made it feel like 1980s movie

location was nice. some of the staff were helpful and lovely
We stayed at Ramside for the New Year Gala Dinner night with a group of friends. The whole stay was disappointing. The room was not the room we booked. The room didn’t not have all the facilities that was advertised. No dressing gown and no slippers and it was not the deluxe room. Lunch was poor I ordered beef stottie, chips and gravy. There was no stotties so had to choose bread, when it arrived the bread was hard. Majority of the lunch menu that fellow friends tried to order was not available. My husband ordered fish and chips and then was told they didn’t have it and was not able to get a refund. Eventually he was allowed steak and chips at no extra cost. when my food turned up, it arrived with old cold chips, the gravy was thin and flavourless. overall it was poor.
The gala dinner night was a disappointment and definitely not worth the money. the wine provided on the table was cheap and awful in taste. we paid for the gala dinner night inclusive of drinks but in the first round of drinks friends had ordered flavoured gin and we were then told they had to pay as they were not part of the inclusive price. it was help yourself buffet for starters, and you were offered up by table number we were table 35. By the time we got to go up it looked like it had been attached by ravenous dogs and you were choosing through what was left. we did not get our mains until 10.15pm after having to ask, when we would be fed, by which time we were all past the point of being hungry. By the time we ate our mains we did not have enough time for a reprieve between courses so never got the opportunity to get pudding even though we were told it would remain out for a while giving us time between courses.
overall decorations and entertainment for the event was poor and disappointing. it was a lot of money to pay and a shame as we had high expectations after being recommended by friends who have attended previously years.

Great base for visiting Durham. Fusion restaurant was a highlight.
Better choice and variety of hot food for breakfast. Standard of bathroom for a deluxe double was poor and was not what it was shown when booking. Didn’t like the one hour slot for the pool, amount paid for staying at the hotel should give you more flexibility.
