The all inclusive food was spectacular, especially Greek Night! The servers were very friendly and picking up dirty plates and refilling drinks promptly.
Possibly the parking. That is the only inconvenience we had.

Very nice, clean hotel in a quieter part of Rethmyno. Staff was great and friendly. Food and drinks were also great. They have 3 nice pools and the rooms were bigger and more comfortable compared to other European hotels. Would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family. If you don't want to eat at their restaurant, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
Only complaint would be lighting in the bathroom and shower area. It is a bit dim. The rest of the room has plenty of light sources.

The hotel is beautiful. It really does take you to your own little paradise. Everything is easy to find and there’s plenty of great facilities. The hotel rooms were a great size and had everything you needed including a free minibar. Towels for the pool were available, the sunbeds were beautiful overlooking the pools (there are three beautiful pools!). The restaurant serves amazing food and the staff were so amazing and friendly
The only even tiny con about this hotel is the location. It is on the other side of the road from the beach so is blocked by a large hotel which means you can only see the sea from
The hotel if you are on the top floor, however, the beach is only a very short walk away

The hotel is very beautiful and modern design. It has a large pool in front of the main building and also a heated pool in front of the annex. The rooms are very clean and also modern designed. The beds are very comfortable.
However, the hotel is at least an hour and a half away from both airports and the village in which it is located offers absolutely nothing. Leaving the hotel, in our view, you can not do much more than go to Rethymno, which was a nice place after all. The beach was not bad but not fantastic either and you had to walk there for about 5-10 minutes. Our biggest criticism was the hotel staff, it is not to be expressed in general terms but surprisingly many staff seemed unmotivated, dissatisfied and above all they were unfriendly. They simply did not have the flexibility to push 2 tables together for a family and insisted on their stubborn heads. The hefty price doesn't really justify itself, the rooms were very nice and quaint but lacked in many areas. For example, there were also far too few sunbeds at the pool so that perhaps half of the hotel could occupy one.

the design
no sun beds
only one restaurant and 2 small bars
music too sleepy in the night time (not enough entertainment)

This is a great establishment. So much excellence. Women run this hotel and you can tell because there is such great hospitality and really make you feel at home.
hotel rooms
exceptionally clean! the only thing was that the bed throw isn’t washed after every visitor as it wasn’t clean when I arrived and had stains and hair so that can be fixed in their cleaning regime. i just took it off the end of the bed and never used it. but EVERYTHING else was very very very clean and I was happy and at peace. bed was also comfy and sheets were comfy. shower was nice size and nice and hot and good pressure. i had a double inland view room. this means the room faces the street and that can be noisy however everything is so great you can’t even complain. I’ll come again and book a sea view ☺️ as that was the only room available when I booked
staff
some of the male staff could use a little more training I think. it may sound like a weird thing to say but all the female staff were EXCELLENT, friendly welcoming happy, helpful, attentive. went out of their way to make my experience a great one. manager is great 💛. the girl with beautiful curly hair was amazing too. and the lady in the restaurant maybe manager? she was very attentive to me and was great!
the extra mile
it was my birthday and I was on my own. i was given a glass of sparkling wine, the staff wrote happy birthday in flowers on my bedroom floor AND put they put balloons in the room whilst I was having dinner. what a surprise and a gift. so generous and so kind! i was in tears!
also I had a massage and they also gave me gifts as it was my birthday!
the massage!
INCREDIBLE. Marina the masseuse wow she is the best that I’ve had and I have literally had so many massages all over the world and that was the best. she is so kind so personable, I had the Cretan massage and the deep tissue massage with hamman and body scrub. perfection! if you’re a masseuse you can learn from her.
it was a bit small. everyone has their own section on the beds however it could use more outdoor space if possible.
not all the drinks like smoothies ice cream etc was included in all inclusive
would have been great if there was a standard pool to swim lengths.
i say these things for an honest review however none of these things would stop me from going there again and bringing people with me

We liked lovely staff, the aesthetic and design and relaxing with drinks by a gorgeous pool. Loved our room and facilities and the effort that has been made to make this hotel stand out
We didn’t match well with any of the other guests. First ever holiday where we couldn’t relax and have a drink or chat to anyone for the entire trip!

The room was incredible. Staff at reception were so friendly and helpful. They made our mini moon so special after we got married in Crete. The food was delicious and we were happy with the drink options. The place had such a calming feel to it. The pool was a brilliant size. We were very grateful after finding out they had upgraded us as a gift to us and to celebrate our Greek wedding.

Great stay, everything was done extremely well.
More varied entertainment in the evenings/during the day.
Drinks all inclusive to be after 11.
Consider additional staff during peak season, as staff seemed to be on the go all the time during the day.

The Syntopia is an outstanding chic hotel and we felt very well looked after throughout our stay by the staff. The food and drink selections were superb, as was the size of the room.
The only issue was the lack of sunbeds around the pool. Most were gone first thing in the morning.
10.0
The interior design at The Syntopia was so wonderful, so was the food- we have never done an all inclusive before so didn’t really know what to expect.
The service everyday, morning, noon and night was always warm.
The only notes we have are:
- The lighting is a bit dark in the rooms especially when in the shower.
- the check in was a bit frustrating as it wasn’t very simple. We checked in at 1am and the last thing we wanted to do was download an app, type out a very long password and fill in some paperwork on a phone with 10% battery.
We will definitely reccomend The Syntopia to family, friends and collegues.

The staff were so well attentive and perfect at they’re jobs. The restaurant food was amazing and such good selection. Never went hungry or without a drink. super stylish also.

Jacuzzi rooms were beautiful and big. The cocktails from 5pm were really nice and the staff were amazing. The staff arranged balloons a cake and gave a nice card to my boyfriend for his birthday.
Our room was not cleaned daily and the food was quite repetative. The canteen snack bar food stayed the same for our whole trip. Which is toasted sandwhich hotdogs or crisps. They do say nachos but it is just a squeezy cheese sauce added to the nachos...not great. The beach charge guests for sun lounges and we were not aware of this. We actually ended up going to the main beach in town as we got to have sunbeds for free at beach bars where the food was a lot nicer than the one for syntopia guests. The sunbeds are an issue like all of the other reviews say. We actually didnt even bother trying to get them around the main pool so opted for the quiet smaller pool where they have a lot more sun loungers however the road next to the second pool is very loud therefore not too relaxing.

Staff were always very helpful and accommodating. Food was good and healthy as well
The hotel is a bit far from the old town so if sightseeing is your purpose, it’s not super convenient. Perfect if you just want to relax
6.0
Let me start by saying the hotel is beautiful. It’s definitely one for Instagram, if you are into those things! The staff welcome you with the biggest smiles and couldn’t do enough for you. You have to check yourself in by downloading an app, a bit strange, but this might be due to COVID.
The room - Is lovely, it’s immaculate and the bed is so comfy. The shower is lovely!
The beach - Is only a 5 minute walk with lovely cocktail bars. I highly recommend the Roulis Bar, their cocktails are superb with a lovely view of the horizon. Again, I recommend going there to watch the sunset.
Unfortunately, there seems to be as many negatives as there are positives!
The pool - If you are fair skinned like myself, good luck! The nice beds you see in the photos are all taken by 7am with towels or people from then till around 5-6pm. That is the only shade provided and annoyingly, the people that take the beds, remove the shading on the beds to be in the sun! There definitely should be a booking system in place to prevent this.
The Food - If you are thinking of going all inclusive, do not expect the standard of food to be the same as the hotel. The food is okay and for the five days we were here, was pretty much identical all the way through. We ended up going out on the last few nights just to have some decent food. Luckily, the old town is only a 10 minutes drive (€12) and there are also some nice restaurants down the road. We had a lovely mixed Greek platter for 2 for just €23 and it was amazing. It gave you all the flavour of Greece on one large plate.
All inclusive drinks - I will use the term all inclusive very loosely. You have three timings on what options you have when it comes to drinks. 10:30-17:30 your choice of cocktails are limited to the pre made frozen ones, which are pretty bad and very limited. 17:30-23:00 you have a larger choice of cocktails which are made at the time, which are also pretty poor and still not that many options. After 23:00-01:00 you have to pay for all of the above, and the quality is still as bad.

I liked everything: starting from the drinks when you are checking in to hospitality of everyone even though they seem to work almost everyday during the season. The vibe is really relaxing, they have this motto “Let us spoil you” and I felt pretty spoiled;) location is nice, there is 10 min walk to the beach, nice music, great food. They try to do various events in the hotel lobby in the evening, such as music performances, cinema nights, etc.
nothing, it was a great experience and I totally loved it

Everything we needed and more was here. The buffets were great, I’m not usually one for buffets but everything was fresh and good quality. My partner particularly loved the pina coladas!
The evening entertainment wasn’t to our taste, however a lot of other people seemed to enjoy it.

Great hotel! You are immediately immeresed into the Syntopia experience when you walk in and are wrapped into their signature scent - very sophisticated. The staff is incredibly nice and makes you feel part of the Syntopia family. Food, drinks, interior design - everything is on point! Would recommend!
I greatly dislike hotel guests that reserve sunbeds for an extended period of time without actually using them… unfortunately this happens sometimes
8.0
Everything was up to expectations, the overall vibe, the food variety, the room and bed was very comfy. The only thing is it is impossible to get a sun bed!
The hotel staff would inform you that you can’t reserve the sun beds and that those are not attended after 30-mins will be cleaned up by hotel staff for others to use. This is not true. People would be up 6/7am to ‘book’ these sun beds by putting their personal items on it, and then only return from time to time. Want a sun bed? Get up early else no chance you are going to get any sun!
9.0
Drinks and food were really good and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Very nice styling and the balcony view of the sea was lovely.
The sun beds were very limited and we saw people reserving them from as early as 6am and staying on them all day which meant we never had the chance to get one (bit of a shame as this was our honeymoon!). We think a better system would be if you could hire one with your room or possibly pay a supplement for them. We were also a little bit disappointed that we didn’t receive a bottle of champagne in our bedroom on arrival as we were on our honeymoon and would have really appreciated that.

Amazing hotel! Designed with a lot of style
No beach, 15 min drive from rethymno

It is just beautiful. Relaxing and really attentive staff esp the main manager who went above and beyond to make us happy. We also had a Cretan massage at the spa and it was really great. Lunch buffet was varied and fresh and we really enjoyed this.
Also enjoyed the entertainment we saw, including the Sunday DJ set.
I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails!
Sunbed wars with the other guests…if you don’t get down before 8am (even then I think all taken) the towels are already down on the “popular” seats.
Room drink service would’ve been good for the room with the jacuzzi.
A la carte option at dinner would’ve been nice but it did mean we visited some nice local restaurants so not all bad.
