Friendly staff with a warm welcome. Room was clean and tidy.
Parking included (which in Bakewell is much welcome).
It was very conveniant for us as we were cycling the Monsal trail.
The bed was uncomfortable and with the room next to the extract for the kitchen it was unfortunate that you got the noise and smell (not too much). It certainly is not worth the money £155 room only (plus £12pp if you took breakfast).
Ate in the restaurant, food was ok, there are far better options around the town.

Great location. Clean, large bedroom, good sized bathroom. Friendly staff. Good food. Very good in terms of non gluten food. Lovely bread. Parking.
Got given an obsolete menu on one occasion so had to re chose our menu option. Got served the wrong food on one occasion (it was busy). We accepted it and it was good but it was a cheaper option but we didn’t get given the difference in price.

Location excellent, breakfast good , staff helpful . Bedroom basic but clean with kettle and hairdryer
Bedroom was situated on the main road through Bakewell. Door directly out onto seating area, motorbikes actually parked directly outside door at one point. Think there should be signage
Walls are thin so traffic noise is heard all the time

The location was perfect that's it
Unfortunately we won't be staying here again I booked this for my partners birthday for £165 for one night ,the room was tiny with a view of a roof ,it cost £11.00 for 4 small bottles of water, breakfast took 40 minutes, uncooked mushrooms and cold beans and there were only 4 people before us there was a lad running around as if he had a full pub he then turned people away that wanted to come in for a breakfast because he said they were too busy he was very rude and no it wasn't busy there were a table of 4 gents our table of 4 and a table of 2 all of which had already been served breakfast that's not how you treat customers there's alot more nicer and cheaper places to stay in bakewell for one night with a better breakfast and more happy polite staff sorry but do not waste your money .

Great location, good food, comfortable room, good staff.
Room faced the road. Double glazed windows would reduce traffic noise

Nothing to not like! 👌😁

Food was impressively above expectations for both late evening meal and breakfast.
The staff were consistently polite and helpful for the four days and three nights.
The location is outstanding in a tremendous town. The overall score is balanced by the superb location which has parking included too.
Unfortunately, and this comment is not personal for anyone who works for the business, the infrastructure is exhausted. It seems as if the organisation has not had time over many years, and possibly decades, to regenerate the accommodation so it has very old decor and feels as if it needs a few licks of paint. The bathroom in my room was well below the standard expected for the price paid.

Excellent comfortable clean room and would not hesitate to recommend it.
We booked a table for an evening meal which left a lot to be desired. My wife's scampi and chips were not well cooked and not very hot. My lasagne was the worst I have ever been served, the white sauce was more like mashed potato than sauce, the pasta and meat were just a stodgy mush and the garlic bread soggy and not at all crispy. When the waiter came to clear the table and asked if the food was okay I said it was not up to scratch. He replied well we like to fill people up and disappeared not to be seen again. On reflection I think he misheard me and thought I meant it was us that were not up to scratch because of the half full plates remaining.

the location
it’s was disgusting, everything was filthy I’ve got pictures to prove it was a night mare from start to finish we got no sleep as the radiator was making noise all through the night. there was no travel cot either.

Fantastic stay at castle inn, Staff really helpful and friendly ,perfect location for all facilities and very central.
We ate at the inn at night and the food was excellent. The room was very comfortable and the parking was free which was a massive bonus. We have already booked again for next year and can't wait to return . All in all a fantastic weekend
Nothing no negative comment to make all was great.

Good parking
Close to road and a road junction results in a lot of noise from lorries etc. Not conducive to a good night's sleep.

Location to town was good, good parking, nice decor, friendly staff
Road noise was awful - if you are offered Hathersage or Buxton ask to get moved as there is only a wooden wall between you and a busy road.
Mattress was worn and very uncomfy where your hips lay
Something I ate gave me food poisoning

the location was excellent!
noisy heating.

very good food and waiter service excellent
reception was very poor and unbelievable that a brewery owned inn did not have 1 hand drawn beer available ----no deliveries made we were told

The restaurant and bar were excellent. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Accommodation very poor. Felt like staying in the garden shed. Tiny room, could hardly move around without the other person going outside. Never cleaned whilst there even though we stayed 6 nights. No ventilation on a very hot summer week. Tiny window would not stay open and room door opened on to a footpath on a very busy street, so if you left the door open everyone could see you. We bought a fan of our own but with that and the fan in the room it wastill airless and very hot. We ran out of toilet rolls whilst there and went to the supermarket to buy our own because asking at a very busy bar was a little embarrassing . It was the worst hotel room we have ever stayed in over our long lives and not cheap. We have stayed in another hotel this weekend with perfect room service every day so Covid is not to blame for this. We will never stay at Greene King again.

a great location
During the evening, taking a drink in the bar, unfortunately we were subjected to listening to a drunken woman and a man sitting at the bar (at first we thought they were the management, but who knows).
Being the only people in the place it was hard to switch off to their loud, obnoxious conversations which including a lot of swearing.
We had already left another bar where women were drunk, rowdy, arguing and out of control. The management, who knew them by name, did nothing.
We believed from our day trips that Bakewell was to be a cosy town. Not a town full of drunken louts.
Very disappointing experience with the local people.
The room was large.
Only Luke warm water from
the shower.
When the bath was filled with water, it had to be emptied again immediately due to the amount of scum floating in the water, I’m hoping it was just a cleaning product which hadn’t been rinsed off.
Breakfast. only filter coffee and tea as they had no machine for anything else.
Barely warm full English was served.
very under ripe avocado toast. Broken poached egg yokes on both. chef apologized and said they weren’t behaving or something like that.
Most the bar staff were courteous.
Very disappointed in our visit to a traditional English town.

Breakfast was good, mostly freshly cooked. Comfortable bed. Modernised bathroom. Parking OK. Location in central Bakewell, although on the main road out of town.
Staff were not the most friendly, initial welcome by the manager quite surly. Room staff failed to replenish milk etc. Bedroom window in a state of some decay, and hanging at odd angle. Lacking some Freeview TV channels. Only ate there on the first evening - steaks inadequately cooked. Ate elsewhere other nights.
3.8
Noisy location right outside pubs outside tables . Woken up several times with people outside as they went home around 12 o’clock
