Chambre confortable.

Staff were so lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Food in the Globe was unreal.
Room was very warm. AC wasn't doing its job and even the fan I got wasn't cooling it down. It was 16 degrees outside but 28 inside it felt. I couldn't feel heat from anywhere in particular. But we got plenty of extra water from the hotel. We managed it but it was uncomfortable at times. The pool was very small but was nice

Close to attractions in Cork city. Walkable to sites, transportation hubs, etc.
AC wasn’t working, rooms were hot, and rooms were small. We paid more at this hotel than in the hotel in Dublin and didn’t really get full value.

It is a lovely hotel situated right in the heart of Cork city. The room was perfect with air conditioning. However, we could see the homeless sleeping on the street behind our room. Breakfast was great but finishes at 10 am during the week which is a little early if on holidays. Car park underneath. The evening food was good as well.
The online check in process does not inform you of breakfast times so you still have to go to the check in desk to get this information. We were reprimanded for arriving to breakfast a couple of minutes before 10 am! This was the morning following a concert so we had payed big money for the room. If hotels are increasing prices on concert nights, they should allow a little leeway, maybe offer a later breakfast option.

The location, we didn’t like anything else
The room very uncomfortable no air con, could not open a window, no view, very uncomfortable , bar closed at 11.30pm you couldn’t have a drink in the lobby, bar staff not very friendly need a course on people skills.

The room was clean and comfortable, we requested a ground floor and were given a first floor room which was quite acceptable for us as we had our two grand daughters with us. The foyer is very bright and spacious with plenty of seating.
The receptionists were very welcoming and helpful, however some of the staff at breakfast looked less that happy to be working in the hotel, which was very sad, as the restaurant area and breakfast itself was good.

Room was comfy, clean and very spacious and lounge areas well appointed.
Staff were pleasant but often distracted and hard to get their attention. Breakfast options fairly limited for the cost.

Room, hotel offerings such as coffee bar, restaurant & exercise facility were good compared to hotels of the same rating.
The car park process of getting the ticket validated and then needing to prepay before exiting at the car park payment booth was rather confusing and became irritating. The person manning the payment booth couldn't have been nicer, but he commented the hotel doesn't mention the process to guests. Furthermore, the second time leaving the car park I pre-paid returned to my room to gather luggage and the ticket to exit was only good for ten minutes. Again, the nice man at the car park payment booth assisted to reset the ticket so we could proceed to exit.

We paid for breakfast but there was a very good choice with a lovely little coffee and pastry area if not wanting a big breakfast. Room was very nice great view and a balcony. Nice bar area, and lots of seated areas.
Service was rather slow in the restaurant for the evening food, didn't seem a lot of staff. However the food was good when it arrived.

Location.
Room was dirty. 1 bed had pubic hair in it. Glass and grit found on another bed. Disgraceful.

Good breakfast, great location. Insufficient heat in bar area, had to move seat as a result.
No heat in room in late November, two sub standard heaters provided in lieu. Booked evening meal special and paid for it at reception. We were billed for it again later on. It entailed conversations between four people to attempt to rectify, following this process, it was still incorrect.

It was very clean, relaxed and very close to the city really enjoyed our stay.
The staff at reception were extremely dismissive and not inviting at all which for me was disappointing. The lady at checkout was extremely rude and didn’t talk to us. Didn’t even ask us how our stay was which I thought was unusual. A lovely hotel but wouldn’t be running back.

Bar staff so inexperienced at pulling pints and 12 euro carpark fees disgraceful after the cost of hotel fees

Not much to like.
We were put in a room directly across from the door of a homeless shelter. We were out for my wifes birthday and came back at 10pm. The noise outside was unbearable people shouting and this went on and on. I rang the reception just after 11pm and was told that the noise would soon die down. It actually got worse and eventually out of exhaustion we fell asleep. In the morning we went to reception to complain. The receptionist who booked us in the previous day immediately said she would compensate us so this must be a nightly thing. She had no interest in talking to us and we refused compensation and we went to get our luggage and leave. We are both in our 60s and are disgusted that the Clayton would knowingly put guests in that room and charge full price (€263) for the night. Shame on you the Clayton in Cork City.

It was a warm night and the air con didn't work properly. Last time stayed in this hotel there was a digital thermostat and the room cooled fine, this time though it was an old analogue style push button. It was turned all the way down and it still felt like it was just blowing out warm air.
