Tout, de l’accueil au départ.
Très bon dîner et surtout un personnel à la fois discret et au petit soins.
Vraiment rien à redire !
D’avoirs à le quitter.

Standard rooms are by far too small and they never have 15qm

The totally unexpected surprise at the end of a dark alleyway. Riad Tafilag was an oasis of peace, comfort and tranquillity amid the bustle of Taroudant. This Riad was an absolute delight. The communal areas, the bedroom, the plunge pool were all perfect. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent. The manager and the receptionists were friendly and super efficient and helpful.

Riad Tafilag is located in a busy shopping street in the medina of Taroudant and is easy to reach by car, presumed you do not arrive at rush hour in the late afternoon. Then it can be a bit difficult to stop in front of the riad to unload the luggage and get to the car park, but with patience it worked out well.
The hosts are very warm and speak excellent English for tips on sightseeing, shopping and eating. The riad has an overall well-maintained appearance with plenty of lounge areas to relax in. The rooms are on different levels and almost all have a private seating area on the veranda, which makes it pleasant to end the day there. Our room was quite small and narrow compared to other riads in the price level, but clean and cosy, the bed comfortable as well. The bathroom was also clean and functional - just right for a night in this interesting city.
We didn't have dinner in Riad Tafilag, but went to the Kasbah Komplex about 10 Minutes walk away, where a a huge variety of good food is offered. The breakfast was very good - favourite was the homemade carrot-orange-marmelade.

lovely riad lovely staff very friendly atmosphere highly recommend
the diner was a bit long and portions a bit conservative. I was a bit sick the next day but can’t tell if it was related or not

Helpful and friendly staff, nice breakfast.
Neighborhood a bit noisy, when claimed we were offered a quieter room.

We loved absolutely everything! All the staff were so friendly, Naima, Brahima, Mustapha and everyone else. The Riad was a peaceful sanctuary within the bustling town of Taroudant. It is quite amazing but one cannot hear anything of the outside world, just the singing bulbuls in the tree that rises out of the central courtyard.
Wonderful views from the roof terrace toward the Atlas mountains too!
The food was superb and we particularly enjoyed the veggie tajine, and the amazing selection of jams and other preserves at breakfast.
If you like fossils and gemstones, they also know all the best places.
Lots of wonderful aloves with comfortable sofas to enjoy mint tea and a game of backgammon.
We had one of the upper rooms with a very comfortable bed, a powerful shower and air con (very handy in this relatively hot town!).
Oh, and if you enjoy a wee bit of birding, one can enjoy fantastic views of pallid and little swifts from the upper rooms, and house buntings and spotless starlings can be viewed on the surrounding medina roofs.
Superb and very highly recommended!

Amazing experience! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Loved staying there
Beds were ok but the pillows were not good, all one firmness, nothing to mold around your neck for support

Riad Tafilag was closed due to maintenance work when we arrived so were booked to Dar Tourkia. Dar Tourkia is a bit further away from the city center, in the quiet Kasbah neighborhood. The hotel was very beautiful. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very hospitable.

Things I loved about my stay in this Riad.. Firstly, the attention of the staff.. Everyone was genuinely invested in making us feel comfortable and welcome. The decoration was tasteful and had several corners where you could relax outside of the room. Our room was lovely with a balcony that looked over the courtyard and beautiful garden. But my what I remember most about the Riad Tafilag was the delicious food. ! Breakfast were included in the booking.. the breakfast was unremarkable as most in Morocco.. but the lunch/dinners were in my opinion the best food I tasted in Morocco. Your typical Moroccan menu but so tasty - definitely prepared with love. You have to wait a very long time for the meal.. but worth the wait. I would return to this Riad.
I think the breakfast could have been better given that their lunches and dinners are so good. The usual breads with jams and La Vache Que Rit cheese.. Some protein could improve the breakfast. Ie: Eggs/ Real cheese / Merguez sausage. and Fruits.

What has made our staying at Riad Tafilag rally special has been the kindness of the staff, the restaurant and of course the position.

beautiful riad in a great location. staff very attentive. food was good, especially dinner
our bath room had a mold issue which the staff were not aware of. they were very attentive once they were aware of the issue.

charming hotel with friendly staff. really enjoyed our stay.
it’s an old building built into a tight space so not a lot of privacy but that’s part of the charm.

Staffs of partner hotel were nice.
This rating is meant for the hotel organisation and communication and not the hotel accomodation.
We booked our stay in advance and they confirmed it too, only to be cancelled a day before our stay (very short notice). We were then referred to a partner hotel, which we unpleasantly accepted since we do not want to get stressed looking for a new one. Although the room was dark, all in all the stay on partner hotel was fine.
But me just note that we don't buy the story of the hotel closure on the period, where we were supposed to stay, since costumer current reviews says otherwise.

Friendly staff
Good location
Good communication prior to our stay.
Comfortable bed.
There was an issue with our room. I had booked a suite with a terrace When we arrived around 5pm we were shown to a suite without a terrace. I did ask about it and was told there was a communal terrace and I assumed I had misread the booking details. However when I checked my booking the next day I found I had indeed booked (and paid for) a private terrace. I raised this with reception who said that there had been a problem with the room we had booked at the time of our arrival so it was not available for us. This problem had been mysteriously fixed so that a later arrival could have the room. The Riad should have explained the issue to us when we checked in, not waited until I raised it the next day. When I did raise it they offered to move us to a sister hotel but as we were only staying two nights we didn't think it was worth the hassle of packing up and moving.
It was no coincidence that a large group booked in on the same day as us and it seems likely that as their custom was more valuable than ours they were given the room I had booked and paid for.
We also had to have breakfast in a rather chilly outdoor area as the same large group took over the breakfast room.

I have based my ratings not on Riad Tafilag but on Dar Tourkia. We were upgraded and found Dar Tourkia to be perfect in every way.
Everything was perfect.

Just amazing, the nicest place we stayed in on our whole trip round Morocco. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, food was so tasty, and the building/rooms/layout itself was just spectacular. Like a boutique hotel. Perfect little swimming pool that the kids enjoyed, our room was huge and decorated beautifully
Nothing, it was perfection

An outstanding small hotel in the centre of town. Spacious with numerous terraces and relaxing areas all with great decor and plants which make it feel like an oasis. The pool is excellent and the staff all very friendly and helpful. Food is also excellent. The rooms and hotel are furnished with style and quality. Rooms are very clean. Highly recommended.

A beautiful, characterful riad. We arrived on the first day of Eid. Everywhere was closed! The owners kindly let us use the pool at their other wonderful property only 10 minutes’ walk away. The staff were very helpful and Naima was always happy to chat to us which made us feel very welcome. The rooms were beautiful.

Staff here were exceptionally kind and helpful. The driver they hired for us was the same. Nothing was too much trouble. We were looked after like royalty. Breakfast and dinner were great also.

The staff were excellent and the dinner was delicious, served with some chilled Moroccan white wine.
The only thing I could improve would be the breakfast. Eggs and a piece of fruit would have been nice ... but that's just my preference as I'm not a fan of sweet stuff.

Honestly one of the best riads I've stayed in and I've stayed in a lot. 100% the best place to stay in Taroudant. The staff are absolutely exceptional - they even give you a map of the city and tell you all the best places to stay. Beautiful room. Best traditional breakfast we had in Morocco. Really wish we'd stayed for dinner at the riad! There was a big gated car park nearby that you can find on Google maps and cost us 20 dirhams for the night.
Google maps took us to the back door entrance which doesn't have a sign on the door, but they let us in anyway so there wasn't a problem. Any local will know where it is, just ask at a shop for 'Riad Tafilag' and people will help you find it if you have any trouble. You can always phone the riad as well - they speak good English.
