Idyllische Lage, Parkplatz direkt am Hotel, nettes Personal, Zimmer insgesamt in Ordnung
Staubiges Zimmer mit einigen Spinnweben, in die Jahre gekommenes Bad, sehr hatte Kopfkissen, wenig Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet
3.5
Very little
Dirty window sills and windows.
Very poor breakfast. Awful undercooked food. Poor selection of everything. Fruit was just tinned peaches and half pears. Poor bread selection. Rock hard butter and sour milk at counter.
Cleaning staff threw three bags of sheets outside room 221. I almost fell over them. Around the corner from room 221 on route to reception,4 doors were open. Staff were there and made no move to close doors as guests tried to pass by with suitcases in a very dimly lit area. Reception was a poor experience also.

Excellent location, peaceful surroundings. There is a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel - we ate there the first night but went looking further afield on the second night.
The hotel is 'dated'. The room wasn't ready at the stated time and we were asked to come back a bit later :(
3.5
Glorious location and friendly staff in the hotel though less so in the bar.
We had a double room (very small!) but with two single beds pushed together. In fairness?? Surely a double room booking should have a double bed and I had requested the same.
Last time we stayed we loved the old style bar - very disappointed to see that it is gone!
Fruit selection for breakfast is very limited, just two tinned fruits.
3.5
The location was gorgeous and the woman on reception was really friendly and helpful!
The breakfast was disappointing. It was a buffet style breakfast and a lot of the containers of food were empty. Heard others in the restaurant mention this to the staff who didn't seem to reassure anyone or go into the kitchen to check.

location was excellent, friendly helpful staff

Absolutely spotless and friendly staff goes along way lately. Exceptional value for money and look forward to next visit.
Old school hotelier and on the money.
3.5
It was in an ideal location
3.5
The location and food was great
1 towel between 3 people. No milk in the room and a bed looked like someone had been sleeping on top and not cleaned. One of the bar staff seemed to ignore any of the girls waiting to be served. It was noticed by other guests at the bar. Last breakfast slot had a poor selection and dry hash browns. Not the service that we have seen here In the past.

Friendly staff & relaxed
Food service outside restaurant times

Great location
The laundry cupboards were often open in y to be passsge
3.5
Good location
High price for a hotel which has worn out rooms, could be cleaner, rug had a lot of stains, breakfast selection could be bigger, hot breakfast was not really warm
3.5
Gorgeous surroundings
The price would suggest it's upmarket, but everything else says not. Food in the restaurant was poor. Room was small. Outside areas were, frankly, shabby. At 07:15 the main entrance was still locked so a walk before breakfast (not available until 08:15) wasn't easy!
3.5
Location and good clean bedroom and bathroom.
Staff were uninterested and didnt smile at all. Wasnt made feel welcome. We felt like we were an inconvienience. Breakfast was stone cold an unappealing, as were staff.
3.5
Charming, quaint, located right on the Wicklow Way. large Irish breakfasts. An older building but everything functioned. Quiet location. at the end of the road so nearest town is a half hour walk away. Best to have a vehicle, we did not. Short walk to historic monastic center, well preserved. Ten minutes to National Park info center and trails map. We walked 30 minutes to Lynhams Pub in Laragh for excellent pub dinners and atmosphere.
Short staffed, but early season May 15 - 17. No one on staff who was familiar with the area. Primarily focused on tour groups.

The only good thing was the location.
The floorboards creaked. The 8:15 start for breakfast was very late. The food on offer for breakfast was very poor.

The room wasn’t the biggest but really comfortable and just what we needed. The location is perfect if you’re looking to walk around glendalough, the sights are really accessible to the hotel. The staff at the front desk were so nice too.
Thought the staff serving breakfast were really unhelpful, honestly would have been more efficient Going behind the counter and doing it myself. We went to the restaurant for dinner in evening and chose the 3 courses for €25 which was good value. However, we waited half an hour to have our orders taken which was annoying as it wasn’t busy, and it would have taken longer if we hadn’t walked over to staff members and asked for menus and for our orders to be taken. While this was annoying there was a lovely man on the staff who was appalled that our order hadn’t been taken yet and he looked after us with a couple of free drinks which was really kind.

Friendly, efficient service, comfortable room (great shower!) and relaxed atmosphere. Setting is amazing!
Nothing.

great location and comfortable hotel

Location, herd of deer outside the window in the morning, wonderful walls and monastic site outside the door. Excellent for sightseeing and Wicklow gap.
3.5
Location perfect. Reasonably priced. Some staff were excellent others didn't seem too helpful. Reasonably priced but the supplements seemed a bit extreme for fish cake and salmon!! But weather fab so had a great weekend with what was available to us!!
Some of the bar staff seemed to have an attitude. Breakfast freezing on both mornings even though we were among the first down on the second day. Carpets grubby and a musty smell on the landing. Choice of dinner menu a bit limited.
3.5
Location,
Indoor Bar restaurant not available for leisurely drink if not eating. Breakfast dreadful
3.5
It was ok but there seemed a distinct lack of managment?
The staff were ok but things some how got overlooked or forgotten

Not a huge choice but well presented
Not enough pillows on bed 1 each
No shower caps

The location was excellent.
Zero room service, paid for bed and breakfast and could only eat toast due to poor quality of food. Breakfast coffee came from sachets. Staff could not provide more than one pillow each due to the hotel not having pillow cases. Staff appears all young, poor management!
3.5
I liked the room it was very comfy. Although 2 single beds pressed together is never ideal.
The staff were very friendly and chatty.
Location to all the near by attractions was ideal.
We got a coffee from the coffee hut attached to the hotel.......it was more milk than coffee.
The breakfast was only fair so much so we only had it the one morning.
