Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Great location.
Nothing we were happy with everything.
4.3
Tranquil location near fantastic hiking tracks. Their Cream Tea was the most enjoyable we had in the UK - perfect scones.

4.3
lovely relaxed but elegant feel to the place. The food was exceptional - such an experience. cannot recommend highly enough
4.3
The food was fabulous.
No phone signal and poor wifi.
4.3
fantastic hotel and so dog friendly. the food was extremely good and the service from staff very attentive without being overall intrusive.
4.3
Food excellent, good wine selection.
All the staff were really helpful and were obviously well trained.
Hotel was rather too warm for our liking!
4.3
Extraordinary staff - very friendly and competent
Wine list is odd. Very descriptive but no mention of the grape(s). Informed choice is difficult

4.3
good food friendliness from staff great walks for the dog
would like more french claret wine to choose from
4.3
Excellent breakfast. But not so good second day.
Evening meal. Verging on raw scallops barely warm. Lamb tough and tasteless. Portion size ridiculously small
4.3
The service was great, considerate, and very organised. Breakfast was really nice.
There was a constant noise in our room, probably from the fan in the bathroom.
4.3
The hotel is in a spectacular position. All staff very attentive and polite. Sitting rooms warm and cosy. Good shower and toiletries. Generally very clean.
4.3
Breakfast was excellent
4.3

Stephen at the front was welcoming, helpful, and has a great sense of humor. The staff was excellent and the meals and tea lovely in an old fashion genteel way. Our room, The Meavy, was a bit old and tired but the bathroom was very modern, squeaky clean, with a great soaking tub.
Our room (Meavy) could do with a little updating.
4.3
Breakfast was delicious - the granola and gluten free toast particularly
Bed was very comfortable and the bath and bathroom products were relaxing and luxurious.
The window seat and small balcony were a nice addition.
A small fridge in the room for milk was expected for the price of the room.
With an option for milk to be in there if wanted.
4.3
Staff were terrific. Food was amazing. Facilities in the room were poor.
The presentation of our room could have been much better. A Junior Suite, it was in the roof. No view really, and necessary to have air conditioning to keep cool. Comfortable chairs well used. Shower doors did not fit, basin useless for proper washing and the seat on the toilet was broken.
4.3
Love the breakfast. Only think proper sourdough bread would be lovely for the toast 🙂
Bathroom a little tired

Location was perfect for walking the dogs. Enjoyed sitting in the reading room, where dogs could join you for food. Lovely gardens.
Lots of treats for the dogs in the room.
A less fancy choice on the menu for evening meal would have suited one of our group but the restaurant helped to cook something he would eat.
4.3
Staff very courteous and outgoing. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, including quality of food and service.
Property attracts like minded guests, at least while we were there.

The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The location was fantastic and we could do walks directly from the hotel. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly.
Dinner was disappointing and overpriced. I had a steak. The plate had 2 small cubes on it and I left hungry. My wife had the seabass and the sauce was quite oily.
4.3
Room was comfortable and airy. Lovely bathroom - spacious. Dinner was lovely and breakfast was very good. I have stayed a few times and would definitely return again.
It is a super hotel, beautifully decorated, superb menu and ambience. At dinner most guests dressed appropriately, smart casual. However there were a few who turned up in scruffy shorts, creased tees-shirts and flip flops. This is being discourteous to the hotel's standards and perhaps should have a simple dress code for dinner.
4.3
The location is perfect with easy access to varied walks in beautiful and frequently stunning surroundings.
Breakfast was varied and hearty and worthy of a visit just for the breakfasts.
Dinners were superb with an excellent choice of menu. All prepared by a talented and imaginative chef who has made The Mill End worthy of repeat custom. We will certainly come back.
A little more attention to detail with regard to cleanliness of the communal areas. The gardens were unloved which is a pity because the landscaping is excellent. Just needs a little more attention to change this.
4.3
The room and dinner were superb; the service was excellent too.
The continental breakfast was a little disappointing
4.3
Both were good
Nothing
4.3
Staff were all excellent - perfect mix of professionalism, friendly welcome and great sense of humour.
Food was consistently good - from the afternoon tea on arrival to evening meals of very high standard, and breakfast was pretty good too!
It's a great location too for walking and driving to explore Dartmoor
Not a lot - it felt like home for a couple of days
