Exceptional

Beautiful view. Walk into St. John de Luz was not well marked and was a couple of miles. Getting a taxi from town back to our place was challenging. Short, nice walk into Guiterry where we had .lunch. Fabulous view over the parachuters to the sea. Nice good sized pool and beautiful landscaping. We had one of the two largest rooms. Some of the other rooms seemed nice but quite small.

Maps to St. John would have hel;lped. We got off course a lot but the locals were friendly. There was nothing we didn't like

highly recommend!

very nice and cozy home, with really welcoming hosts. the house is located right by the sea and has an amazing view. there is always basque cake on supply ;)

our room was adjacent to the office and kitchen so we were woken up a bit early. Upstairs rooms are more quiet :)

Beautiful spot near natural wild beach and a vast garden area to enjoy during the day or evening.

Great breakfast but some people might want to eat earlier than 8,30.

Doors to bathroom hard to close without looking it. One room door hard to lock. You need a car to gey around, few buses or trains available in this region.

A lovely stay, we hope to return!

We had a lovely time here! It is a beautiful house, the room was very comfortable, all the staff were lovely and helpful, the breakfast was great - we like the long table, it is nice to meet some of your fellow guests. It was very relaxed, we felt very much at home. There is a large lounge with picture windows, and you can make coffee etc in the breakfast kitchen area at any time - there is a small fridge too, and a supply of cakes! The pool is magnificent, we enjoyed lounging in the sun after a swim and watching the colourful paragliders cliff soaring beyond the hedge. Our room was not huge but wasn't cramped, and had a sea and mountain view. I really liked the toiletries in the bathroom. We cycled into St Jean de Luz for dinner, swimming in the sea on the way. It is a nice, calm cycle route although the signage could be better. Cycling north another day, we got lost for a while, and it's not so pleasant a route. The gates have a code, and we felt our car and bikes were very secure in the car park area. We definitely hope to return!

Great breakfast, good location, very nice common rooms like living and dining room, lot of light all over, great garden and swimming pool, unfortunately tv did not work (problem with Orange ?). We’ll be back !

air conditioning units need to be considered in bedrooms, as unusually high temperatures during our stay made it very hot in rooms at night

Lovely Property, Lovely Location, Lovely Hosts

The property is in a fantastic location with lovely views. it is very clean & welcoming. The hosts are superb, helpful, informative & available when you need them. The breakfast wonderful. I have severe allergy problems & they dealt with it & made sure I had a really good breakfast.

We loved just about everything at 'La Maison Tamarin' - we expected it to be good, based on the reviews we had read, however it exceeded even these expectations! Romain and Emilie are extremely pleasant and helpful, and the location just superb for anything you might want to do in and around the Basque coast. We had a lovely mountain-facing room, which was the epitomy of good taste and cleanliness, the breakfasts were super... really too much to list and can't wait to go back in the coming months. Thank you to our hosts :-)

Will be back!

Breakfast was superb. Decor very tasteful. Position excellent. The 5km walk to St Jean-de-Luz centre was a highlight as the coastline is really beautiful.

Pays Basque at its best

Lovely , renovated Farmhouse with beautiful sea and Mountain View. Nicely located between StJean de Luz and Guethary. Perfect starting point for cycling, hiking, surfing and of course- dining.

What a gem!

What an amazing place! Quiet and away from the city bustle on a bluff overlooking the ocean. Short walk to the sea. This is a place best visited by car and it makes a great home-base from which to tour the coastal Basque country. Centrally located between Bayone and San Sebastian. The staff, Emily and Roman were great and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Emily is a great cook and prepared special treats each morning for breakfast. The experience was like staying at friend's beach estate.

We love everything! It’s rare to have a place which meets all our expectorions. It’s beyond description. When you feel comfortable at a place, that’s the goal and comfort of travelling. Will come back!
