I love all of this hotel

Nice layout. Lots of restaurants. Raul the concierge was very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Swim up Suite was amazing. The swim up bar was awesome. The Teppanyaki restaurant was very fun and food was great. Excellent food and service in Capella.
The property needs to be maintained a little better. Repair work done on walls. 24 hour coffee bar was not open at 6:30 am so we couldn’t get coffee before an excursion. Room service food was not very good. The steakhouse was closed.

the property was beautifully designed and decorated. the family vs adults only lay out is genius.
the rooms could have been better designed. the toilet door is a glass door with no lock, and there is huge glass window between the bedroom and the bathroom. as a result, there is ZERO privacy for using the bathroom.

This is our third time staying in Paradisus and although this was the shortest stay (one night) it was amazing as always! Food was great, the Nespresso hut is a great addition, the Kids waterpark is a hit as usual, and the staff is wonderful. Shout out to Pablo who was very attentive and kind, the buffet staff was more than accommodating and the girls at the Kids Club are now my daughter's favorite group of people!
From our last stay we did notice the rooms are in desperate need of some love. Paint was peeling in some of the walls, etc. Nothing major but worth checking out. Also, despite having the Melia app, we were never able to order room service which was a bit frustrating. Nothing crazy but worth noting!

The hotel was really nice and upscale. The food was great and there were a lot of options. The Friday night carnival games and pirates at the pool were a great hit for the kids.
The pool is very deep. Its over 5 ft everywhere but in the kid's pool. I couldn't get drinks at the swim up without sitting at the bar because I couldn't touch in the pool bottom anywhere. It was difficult to bring your kids anywhere on rafts or even with floaties if you cannot touch the bottom of the pool. It was way too deep for a main pool. Our room had a great Ocean view, but we were right above the restaurant and couldn't open the doors without smelling food the entire time. There is no couch in the room despite the pictures. There is only 1 swim up bar, there are waiters, but they are hard to come by in the kid's section.

cleanliness/food
3.5
Food all tastes the same. Maybe good for Western taste but Asian travellers beware, the food gets very boring very quickly
More food variety, eg Thai, Indian etc
4.5
the facilities, the kids club , the cleanness, the friendly and smiling staff
the slow service at some restaurants, the only place to eat between 11am and 1pm is the snack place at the pool, no lots of options, so had to adjust lunch times and naps accordingly, with a 3 year old.
4.5
The food is really food, the restaurants with food options. The amount and diversity over the pools is really good. Two great options for the kids on the pools, it was a lot of fun for them.
The bartenders look at your wrist all the time and if you were not premium wristband then they sometimes ignore you for the person that does have it, not all but the majority.
Difficult to put a donut bar in the entrance of our room, and we were not able to take it because we were not premium, having 2 kids of 4 and 5 is quite difficult to ignore it and not have a donut, so a couple of cries were part of the trip.

Beautiful facilities, everything was arranged for having a good rest and to enjoy those amazing landscapes
Maybe to have more activities at the beach. Everything else is outstanding.

We enjoyed the food and service from the staff. The commitment to exceptional experiences for guest was on full display.

well laid out, lots of spots to relax
food took a long time to come out in some of the restaurants. staff were v.polite though.

This was our 3rd hotel during our trip in Mexico and sadly it was the worst one.
While one bedroom suite we stayed in comes ( not sure why) with the fully equipped kitchen, microwave and a blender, there are no forks, knives and spoons… and if you want to have a kettle ( which we never received), you have to sign a paper that if it breaks you’ll be paying 50 USD …. what about microwave and blender then?!
Reservation curtesy time is 5 mins … don’t dare to relax, as if you’re 10 mins late ( we travelled with 2 kids ages 3&5) you’ll find that your table is occupied by a group of 7 sipping on their drinks that supposedly was set only 2 mins ago …. Right … Then you can’t get into any other restaurant, as everything is booked and have to wait another 30 min - it was a struggle to get food in an all inclusive …
Staff is overall indifferent to your experience and whether you’re happy or not isn’t their concern since you paid already. Took us over 1 hour to check in, another 1.5 hrs to find laundry list and submit clothing for cleaning, no cash at the front desk, restaurant staff forgets things and something as simple as pasta with tomato sauce isn’t available. Horrible sea water, brown and smelly like a swamp. Contacted Director of Guest experience, who was eager to meet and listen to our concerns, we were then in direct contact with one guest service agent over WhatsApp who made things a bit better for us - thanks Tatiana.
Final hit was the check out where we had to beg uninterested staff to let us out and not miss the flight. One agent at the desk during check out hour, dozen passing staff members and no one was trying to help - I felt like the biggest Karen of the world having to raise my voice in the lobby pleading for help.
One person who was very helpful was Carlos at the bell desk - thank you for being a little ray of sunshine.
Do not recommend this hotel for anyone traveling with small children and looking to relax…

Paradisus was really good. It worked out for what we were looking for. We were looking for a place which would allow us to relax, play golf and scuba without being overly crowded due to Covid19 issues and concerns. Staff were polite and attentive!
The one issue I had was they only had one option open for breakfast and lunch outside of their pool grills.

very well laid out, and a distinct family side along with a distinct adults only side. Gave the adults only guests the option of doing activities all over the property, while keeping the children on the family side only.
The only thing that made it slightly less than perfect was the traffic/trip time to and from the airport.

Excellent stay, Hugo, Alma, and Rafael, were excellent. They made our stay unforgettable and very special, specially for our kids. The food was on point and we really recommend everyone to go with the reserve services; you will not regret it. Thank you for an unforgettable vacation. See you until next time.

Nothing!! Everything was great!!

Before I forget, staff was accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly. Jeaneen, our concierge was outstanding. 2bedeoom suite was perfect for my husband an I in one separate room suite and our 2 boys right next to us with their own everything. Worth the money! Covid secure, clean environment... Oscar (I 🤔) at Market grill was awesome and the food was great there. If early, many choices to lounge by several pools. Nature critters posed NO problems birds and little monkeys have home training Lol. 1st post Covid vacation. No worries.
THE HORRIBLE SEAWEED SMELL! Couldn't function the first night. NO BEACH! THEY WERE ACTIVELY WORKING ON IT THOUGH... Food and restaurants were bountiful but not my taste.

We stayed in multiple resorts while in Playa and this one was by far the best. The swim up suite was amazing, the staff was great, and the overall experience was golden!
