Ok..

The location.

The place was quite cold and not cosy especially that the rooms are not carpeted. Heating was only on for very few hours and it was not enpugh for a comfortable stay as it was a very cold night in Windermere. There was a heating fan provided under the bed, but it's noisy & not ideal. Communication: hosts were not often available for enquiries. I felt askward having to knock on rooms a few times that have "private" on them because I have a question or need help, wasn't ideal & there's room for improvement.

LOVED our stay here!

Fab hospitality! Excellent location! Super clean! Breakfast was delicious! Service was warm, friendly and super prompt! Very well designed rooms. The garden is beautiful. Loved every bit of our stay here! Attention to detail is wonderful.

Perfect stay in a delightful room, with amazing breakfasts

This was the most delightful & perfect stay. Our room was fabulous; very spacious; the decor was so cute and the bed was very comfortable too. The breakfasts were just amazing - so much choice and everything was presented so perfectly and tasted incredible! (We particularly loved the Puddle Duck imprint on the toast!) David was really accommodating and his dog & cat were really friendly too! The location was perfect - short walk down the hill to the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Puddle Duck Lodge and highly recommend it. Thank you to David, Jenny & their son (?) who made our stay so wonderfully relaxing.

Another lovely stay at Puddleduck lodge

The single room is a lovely, peaceful place to stay with everything that you may need. The garden is stunning and the presentation of breakfast outstanding. No dining room so breakfast is delivered to your room. This feels like such a treat as I sat and ate it dressed in robe. George, the dog, is the sweetest little dog ever.

Breakfasts are served in the room at a time of your choice. Delicious and the choices were excellent. The location was great for the amenities at the resort. The room was very pleasant.

Was a lovely way to start my husbands 40th celebrations, we will be back x

First impression was amazing, good that it has a car park too. The room was lovely and had lots of little extra’s that we didn’t expect. The breakfast was so good and we loved that it gets served to your room so you can relax and enjoy it.

Beautiful long weekend with friends staying in a little gem of a guest house

Everything - it was a beautiful gem of a place. it was spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was spot on. The breakfast was lovely and there was a huge selection to chose from. Eating in our room was a lovely start to each day. We loved our stay and will definitely be going back again.

Great place

David greeted us and took our bags up to the room .He explained about the keys and the breakfast ordering system!The room was Beatrix Potter themed as you'd expect and very comfy and clean.It's only a short walk into Bowness. There's everything you need in the room and great attention to detail . After reading through the 6 pages of the breakfast menu with its very specific instructions we were delighted with it when it was delivered to our room!

I already want to go back and stay!

the moment I arrived I was made to feel very welcome by the hosts Jenny and David (and their little pooch George) the property itself is immaculately clean and you can tell the hosts take pride in what they do. I was travelling solo so had the single room but it was more than perfect for what I needed. the room had everything you could ever need for a short stay and the touches were very welcome such as homemade cake and biscuits, water, tea and coffee. my room had a separate bathroom for my sole use and the shower was perfect after a few hours hiking. Although a single bed it was perhaps the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in (even comfier than some of the top-notch hotels I’ve stayed at!). the cream on top of an already perfect cake was the breakfast that was served the next day. there was loads of choice for breakfast and when it arrived at the room it was phenomenal. beautifully presented and tasted delicious. proper home cooked comfort food to set you up for the day ahead. David and Jenny were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much bother for them. I arrived early just to drop my bag off and the room was already for me hours in advance. and they were happy for me to leave my stuff to go exploring the next day. I would highly recommend Puddle Duck Lodge and will definitely be booking again next time I visit The Lakes. The place is perfect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great find, comfortable and perfect location…was a pleasure meeting the hosts David & Jenny.

What a find, was a pleasure staying at the Puddle Duck Lodge and to meet the hosts David & Jenny who really made us feel welcome. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed being able to have a lovely breakfast delivered to our room. Easy working distance into Bowness, perfect location.

Couldn’t honestly say we had any dislikes…apart from picky me & didn’t like the veggie sausages but I honestly didn’t leave hungry…halloumi option next time 😃
