Very comfortable, clean and enjoyable.

A suburban location was a car trip to town and there didn't seem to be many (any?) restaurants around the area within walking distance. But the rooms were fine, clean, well appointed, great wifi and enough electric outlets delight. Full proper SA breakfast with all the bells and whistles and a sparklingly clean pool to relax by. Can't ask for more than that!

The guesthouse is just a one minute walk from the cliff path to Hermanus. The area is very quiet and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit salad. The rooms are comfy and big as well as the beds.

Gorgeous accomodation, no expense spared.

Location is directky across the road from the cliff top walk, cleanliness, modern, no expense spared, all facilities including room were outstanding, also had seperate kitchen facilities and an extensive honestly bar with large beverage refrigerators. Everything was lovely, owner and staff very friendly, helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Gorgeous gorgeous place would highly recommend to anyone. Would definitely stay here again

Peaceful coastal retreat in Hermanus

Super friendly welcoming staff, walkable to the town, easy fob access for the main gate, very clean throughout, and probably the nicest breakfast we had during our trip! The automatic under-sink lighting in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise too (an idea I might have to steal). Would happily stay here again.

Carrying around the rather large keyring with the room key and fob was a little awkward in the pocket (at least you won't forget to leave it when checking out), and it can get a little warm inside during load shedding hours, but otherwise everything was great and we only regret not staying here longer!

Great place for a perfect stay in Hermanus

We have been here years ago and loved the place because of the friendly host Sue and we loved the decoration a lot. now we came back years later and got to meet the owner Carol, who is very lovely and always trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was great and we didn’t miss anything at all. the place with this beautiful decoration can really make your stay a perfect one.

our stay was short but very sweet and we will definitely return .

We were welcomed at the gate into a beautiful light and bright Guest House… The Bamboo theme throughout is simple and not overdone..subtle. the Staff were present for our needs whilst respecting of our privacy.

During our 2 day stay we didn’t find anything we didn’t like.

Outstanding!

The property is in great shape - it is bright and attractive, in modern contemporary style. The rooms are of ample size. and beautifully furnished and decorated. The owners have an eye for detail and work very hard to make their guests’ stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast was excellent - everything you hope for!

Fantastic as always

This Hermanus stay is alwys good, nice design, good bed, close to golf course, safe parking.

Wifi was very bad, on evenings when everybody were at home practically zero chance.

Super - highly recommended!

Delightful property. Comfortable and spacious room. Delicious breakfast. Friendly, professional hostess. Will definitely return if we come back to South Africa and will highly recommend to others.

nothing - except the 2 hour power outages several times a day- not the property’s fault, but occurring throughout the entire city.

Felt like “coming home” even if you are on vacation- fresh, modern, caring and absolutely lovely!

Being at Bamboo Guest House was like being “at home”, we felt very welcomed and the 2 wonderful ladies owning the guest house were very nice and helpful. Loved our room, the “trusted bar” system, the fresh breakfast, the Christmas gifts on Christmas Day etc.

amazing guest house, with supper hosts, in a great location

The property was supper special, the pool area was prefect and everything was immediately clean, towels and beds made everyday which was great. breakfast was fantastic, help yourself buffet which is a prefect way to kick start your day. location close to beaches and beach walks, prefect if you want a beach day or any beach activities (surfing, swimming). owners where supper host just so accommodating like a home from home!

Super friendly staff, go the extra mile to provide excellent service and very friendly. We felt very welcomed from the moment we drove through the gates! Spotlessly clean everywhere. Allowed us to check in early and made us feel relaxed

There is absolutely nothing not to like. Will definitely return and highly recommend....and I rarely do that!

Fabulous guest house. Would highly recommend.

A fabulous guest house. Carol, the host, couldn’t have been more welcoming. She clearly cares about the experience her guests have and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fabulous and the guest house is beautiful. Lovely walks along the cliffs close by. Lovely place to stay.

It’s a little out of the old town of Hermanus so you have to drive if you want to go out for a meal.

My friends recommended staying for at least a couple of days in Hermanus. and I added of course in guest house Bamboo

on my trip about Africa, this is the best guest house. The traveler takes a hotel room to sleep, as usual, but you won’t leave. all rooms are very comfortable, you are surrounded by attention and care. absolutely relax like home. I love this place and people.

unfortunately every evening turn off light in whole Hermanus. it’s not a problem of this guest house. but bamboo made workaround:) and you will get necessary comfort

Feeling at home away from home

we only stayed for one night and planned to depart early morning, so a short stay, but Carol and her staff did everything they could to make us feel at home; tips for restaurants, how to get there, providing telephone numbers for a taxi and prepared a quick and easy breakfast in the room. The room and rest of the accommodation is very spacious and has a lovely decor with attention to details.

Our second visit did not disappoint! Bamboo House is a lovely place to stay. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable and breakfast very enjoyable. Theresa and Maria made us very welcome and the pool was excellent for cooling down in the hot weather. No doubt we will be back!
