Nice

the room is nicely decorated and the host prepared lots of little food for guests. The host suggested places to be visited and that's useful tips for the travellors.

the room is a bit dim and not much hook for hanging clothes in the washroom. The shower is only from top.

everything about the property was great! Marcus and Simone are definitely what you hope for in the hospitality industry. They’re so welcoming and they have such a beautiful property. . Simone spent quite a bit of time with us detailing what we should know and places to go.

Exceptional

Upon our arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome, my partner and I were informed about the town and must see places by the host. The overall experience was amazing we enjoyed our stay and it felt like home.

Beautiful weekend

Very clean and comfortable place with basic breakfast ( bread, yogurt, cereal, fruits, sweet pastries). We enjoyed our stay. Simonne is a warm welcoming host .

A relaxing, comfortable and peaceful getaway.

Beautiful quiet location. Tastefully decorated with attention to detail. Walking distance to the esplanade and various shops and eateries. Very relaxing and homely atmosphere with the most comfortable bed! We wished we could have stayed longer!

Our stay was very relaxing.

Both the setting and our room were beautiful. The verandah and grounds gave a feeling of tranquility. The breakfast was very good. Simonne was an excellent host who recommended a beautiful place for our large family to meet for brunch…and left us tasty treats!

Very pleasant place to stay in for our short visit to the island, Simonne is a terrific host.

Very pleased with the location and ease of access to Cowes CBD. Surprisingly (and pleasantly) quiet leading to a great night's rest. Simonne was a great host and happy to help with anything we needed at all.

Lighting in the room was a little on the dim side for reading, otherwise all was fine.

Exceptional

Loved the room, the outdoor space, how close it is to the centre of Cowes and how accessible the rest of Phillip Island is. The host was great showed us through the room and recommended lunch and dinner spots. The brekky supplied was fresh and delicious.

lovely Bed and Breakfast with BEAUTIFUL garden

we stayed at Genesta House for our Honeymoon-Trip to Australia and absolutely loved it! the House and ESPECIALLY THE GARDEN is BEAUTIFUL! We almost didn’t want to leave the veranda at all Beschuss it was so tranquil and peaceful. Simonne was a wonderful host - so helpful and nice! I cannot recommend Genesta House enough.

Cosy, comfortable staying at a location that is more than 100 years of age.

The host Simmone was extremely friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant she recommended (Bani) and it was good. She made us feel welcome. She also prepares welcome cookies, red wine, fruits and breakfast was simple but nice. These may seem "little" things but are differentiators compared to any others which don't go the extra mile.

The continental breakfast was delicious and substantial. Selection of teas, coffee, juice, milk, bottled water, fruit , muesli, cereal , yoghurt , a nice loaf for toasting, jams, butter etc. Lovely. Little extras in the room, chocies & even a little decanter of port. It was charming, we loved it.

Lovely B&B right in the heart of Cowes. Easy walk to everything. Place was comfortable and clean. Owners very helpful and accommodating. Would go there again.

Genesta house was a dreamlike peaceful sanctuary.

Simonne is an amazing host. Everything I needed was provided along with addition thoughtful additions. I am a lover of port and I was so excited to find a decanter in my room. Simonne was very knowledgeable about the island and recommended the most beautiful hike. This is my first and only choice for accommodation on the island.

Much nicer that staying in a generic hotel room

Adorable room and garden setting gorgeous. Hosts were extremely lovely and helpful. Breakfast supplied for the morning was sufficient . Extra touch of champagne and chocolates for our anniversary lovely. Very central location. Electric car charger close by.

We felt the sound barrier between our room and the next could have been a little better. Bedding was nice but bed could have been a little comfier.

This is a rare oasis in a very busy world. The setting, ambience, facilities and hosts are all exceptional and cannot be recommended more highly. Genesta House is the ultimate escape destination and we will be back for another first class experience very soon.

Did not enjoy the breakfast, went out and purchased breakfast The house was clean and comfortable and we were given the weekend away as a gift.

Exceeded Expectations

They really have thought of everything here. Loved sitting on the patio, looking at the nice garden. As a bonus, they provided a cheese platter for my stay AND transport to the Penguin Parade.

Sometimes could hear the people next door. But it didn’t really bother me that much.

Wonderful hosts making for a very special mini break in the heart of Cowes.

Marcus and Simonne were excellent hosts - they made us feel very special. We did not realise until we arrived that the breakfast was a continental breakfast; This should be made more clear on the website; having said this, Marcus and Simonne presented us with special treats during the course of our stay, including a cheese platter and champagne for new years eve which was such a lovely surprise. Overall as a result of Marcus and Simonne's hospitality we had a wonderful stay. Our group of friends booked the 3 rooms, which gave us exclusive access to the front verandah where we spent every night - which was lovely. The location is excellent. We were able to walk everywhere; beach and local Cowes retail and restaurants. A very special place to spend some quality down time.

The rooms were much smaller than we anticipated, with limited to no space to empty our suitcases. We actually stayed for 5 nights so this was a bit of a challenge. Limited sound proofing between the rooms, which we were advised will form part of the renovations which are due to take place this year. A fan over the front verandah should be considered, for some nights it was quite warm.

Everything. Hosts went out of their way to make our stay relaxing providing many added extras in the fridge for breakfast, chocolates, an afternoon cheese platter, port and wine. Also accomadated dietry requirements. Well presented and very clean. Will definetly go back 😊😊

Comfortable stay within walking distance to Cowes Beach, cafes and shops

Location and ambience of the room. Love a clean and large bathroom. Continental breakfast was a nice inclusion and great to fuel up before heading out in the morning.

The mattress could be comfier as the spring can feel a little rough. Though we still slept really well from the long days at the beach!
