My husband and I and our friend stayed at Miyajima Seaside Hotel and had a wonderful time. The free bus provided by the hotel collected us and within 10 mins you are at the beautiful hotel. Our room was stunning with a sea view and a balcony where we spent a lot of time watching the deer outside. Food is a kaseiki dinner and breakfast where we got to try many things we've never had before including the islands speciality, oysters. We were served by one of the hotel's interns who was kind, professional and explained what everything was on the menu, and how to eat. The public bath onsen was very beautiful and calming. Would definitely recommend staying here and experiencing a traditional onsen, with the added bonus of being so close to the famous floating tori gate.

Very nice and attentive staff, very nice place.
Way too expensive for what they offer. The beach in front is quite bad/dirty. Far away from the city. Too many rules regarding schedules. Too early check out (you need to leave at 10 or they will not take you to the city by shuttle bus).

This was a great 1 night experience to fully embrace Japanese culture. The hotel were exceptionally welcoming and seemed to enjoy teaching us barbarians how to learn their ways. Our bags were collected from the ferry wharf while we explored the island. We were picked up at 2.30 and taken to hotel. Your shoes are taken away and you wear their slippers with separate ones for the loo. You wear a yukata robe and guests were sitting in hammocks enjoying the view. We used the onsen baths and were the only ones there (luckily, as you are nude!) The room has a tea area and tatami mats so you wear NO shoes there. While you have a substantial and adventurous dinner your futon beds are made up in your previously empty room. The view from our room was wonderful. We also played pingpong and another group used the karaoke room. The breakfast was also very good and the waiter was the nicest guy in Japan!! We were dropped into town after breakfast as it was high tide and we saw the O-torii gate and did ropeway. The hotel brought our bags to ferry at midday after I called them. So efficient!
The hotel is a bit dated and is really big and empty, but that adds to the experience. The bathroom isnt great and they could maybe make it smell better?

This Ryokan was an amazing experience. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. They were ok with my different demands, which included sending my luggage with the transport bus to the Ryokan without me (since I wanted to see Miyajima before dinner) and asking for a bike to rent and then have it ready to use at 6am so I could go visit the temple before breakfast. Beyond that the Japanese room was wonderful with an amazing view of the beach, food was also 10/10 traditional Japanese course. I will definitely stay here again if I visit the island next time I visit Japan.
If I had to nitpick something is that the hallway between the onsen and the elevator to the room was quite cold. They also don't have a 24hrs front desk, which was not a problem to me this time, but depending on your schedule it may be.

Beautiful place, excellent service and facilities!

cozy and very comfy futons, most staffs can communicate in good English. Free shuttle bus service from/to hotel/jetty at designated time.
was really looking forward to the Japanese style meal. It looks nothing like the photos. Photos look amazing and premium, in real only small portion of food, not impressive at all. If you are here for oysters, please be mindful that they are only available in winter. The photos show oysters in the meal, was a bit misleading.

We really enjoyed our stay! Staff were very helpful, a shuttle bus is available to get you back and forth from the ferry and central area of the island. Dinning experience was great. Well recommended if you wish to experience a typical japanese stay ♥️.

The staff was excellent. They even came to the ferry port to pick up our luggage so we could wander around the town and see the Tori gate and eat lunch when we arrived early before check-in time!l.
The dinner was delicious and served in our room! The breakfast was nice and served in the banquet hall. My only complaint was that it was raining, which, of course, they could do nothing about.
No complaints.

room is clean, and the hotel shuttle bus is very convenient, saved us a lot of time on commuting between hotel and ferry station. Breakfast was local Japanese style, and the food was great!
my stay was in early Dec, felt a little bit cold in the room even with air-con.

What a wonderful hotel! The staff were so attentive and friendly. Beach out front and plenty of nice spots to sit and watch the boats and the cheeky deer 😀
Breakfast and dinner were absolutely superb, the best food we've eaten during our trip. Fantastic facilities and a magical.island. We will definitely return to Miyajima Seaside Hotel!

The service was professional and friendly, the cleanliness of the hotel, the view and the food.
Perhaps it is because the building is showing its age in certain ways, somehow the toliet and bathroom always has a smell/odour. After some observation we think it is coming from the plumbing system. We just kept the doors closed including the sliding door, which helped. Otherwise the maintanence of the rest of the facilities was good.

Staff was great. After I checked out of the hotel they kept my luggage at the hotel and brought to the ferry departure area later so I can tour town without luggage. They are the best! Food was great too.
