Staff, Breakfast, location was really good!
6.0
The hotel location was great, directly on the beach. The room was clean, spacious, great hot water, great view from top floor room, sunrise streams through the big windows, beds were comfortable, large bathroom, enough storage space for luggage. There was A/C but it struggled to keep the room cool. It was still better than none. It would help if they had blackout curtains so the heat from the sun didn't come in. The wi-fi was OK. We really liked the style of the hotel with large tiled Mexican style floors.
The small restaurant under the palapa which is part of the hotel had the slowest service I've ever experience. We think they didn't want to serve us at all. We went there daily for the 5 days we were there but it got worse as time went on. Waiting over an hour to order after looking around for staff and making eye contact but they just wouldn't serve us. I had to get up and go ask the man running the place anytime I wanted something and he just pointed to the girl who worked there. I saw him serving the other tables and taking orders. She was sick and coughed openly every time she put food/drinks on our table. We ended up getting head colds by the time we left. We tried to spend more money there but they made it very hard. It felt a bit discriminating and unwelcoming. It reflected poorly on the hotel. We ended up going to a different restaurant the last day. We had had enough.

Not a lot of dining options for dinner. Had to take expensive taxi ride to Zipolite.

Desk staff really helpful, friendly family relaxed atmosphere in hotel.rooms cleaned very well each day. Spacious rooms simple but nice. Lovely beach on the doorstep
Restaurant staff a bit unfriendly. The breakfast and dinner is really well cooked but the tables and service are really lacklustre. I am not sure about keeping the parrot in the cage downstairs on so many levels it’s odd

The room has a sea view. The staff was friendly
The bathroom was very dirty, the tiles had a brown scum on them...I thinn nobody scrubbed them during the whole covid lockdown. Horrible smell from the restaurant downstairs, so it is not possible to use balcony...overwhelming smell or old frying oil. Hotel doesn't look like pictures at all.

This is the best place to stay in Puerto Ángel. The restaurant was excellent and the staff do kind.
3.0
The location is nice if you get a room facing Puerto Angel bay.
The sheets of our beds were horrible, not a fault of the cleaners, but the directions that decided to keep using the same old sheets to make more profit. For what we paid I would expect a different standard, compared to other properties we stayed in Puerto Escondido and Huatulco. Rooms are so basic, the bathroom is very old, the bed is uncomfortable and you could feel the springs in your back, there is a strong smell in the corridor and doors are so basic you need to shut them to close, disturbing the other guests. No insulation at all. I wouldn’t recommend it, in general I wouldn’t stay in Puerto Angel but opt for Mazunte probably which has higher standards.

It's right on the beach. The staff was wonderful. I had a great omelette and bacon. I'll return.
There was a bad storm and the electricity went out, but the staff quickly provided candles.

The view is stunning and the staff are friendly and try to be accommodating. The restaurant is a little pricey and the prices changed daily but the food is quite good.
While the location of the hotel is wonderful (situated on the bay with an incredible view of the water), there were several issues I experienced:
1. I requested a change to my booking after two nights staying at the hotel with little sleep due to the noise of the parrots and loud voices in the morning. I asked the manager if I could cancel three nights and leave early and he informed me that I would be able to. He said he would contact booking.com as a "partner", however upon asking him daily what the status was (since I wanted to move to another hotel as quickly as possible) he finally let me know on the day that I planned on leaving that he was unable to reach booking.com to change my booking. He said he tried calling booking.com and emailing and logging in, to no avail. In the end, I left the hotel early and was not refunded for the three nights that I did NOT stay at the hotel. This was of course very disappointing on the part of booking.com being unreachable to one of their partners and the manager of Cordelia's hotel being unable to accomodate my booking change request.
2. The noise at this hotel was simply unmanageable. There are two resident parrots that are kept on the lower floor, however the hotel is an open concept and my room was open to the screaming of the parrots starting at 6:30 am. I wanted to escape to this part of the world to rest and catch up on sleep, and it was impossible with this noise. The staff also were quite loud in the mornings walking around the hallway where my room was situated and talking loudly amongst each other. I felt like I was in a hostel, not a hotel.
3. The beds were rock hard and the pillows were flat and hard as well. I have never experienced a more uncomfortable stay at a hotel or even a motel.
4. The water in the shower was always cold, which I was unaware I would have to deal with. I had to take cold showers, which was also unpleasant and shocking as I was not expecting this.

The staff is very nice, the facilities are very clean, the hotel has its own beach and great location. Food and drink good.
Could have more options in the food menu. There are no bars or different restaurants nearby the hotel but tourists can visit other nearby beaches.
