Breakfast was delicious, view from our upper balcony room was spectacular. We saw monkeys and birds!

the view were amazing, the pool was very nice, the gardens beautifully done. the food was excellent (except the beans and rice). in the morning and night we could hear the animals in the jungle.
The road is a steep hill not well maintained. we eventually could drive it but the car got hit underneath by the rocks. This is a couples hotel so my 25 year old daughter was bored. there were not many activities around except for the beaches. we did not see any wildlife except for iguanas.

This property has a gorgeous view of a valley and the ocean in the distance. It also has a fun bar / restaurant called the Bamboo Room as part of the property. The drive to the property is only possible with a 4x4 and the last 75 meters to the parking lot are up a 45 degree incline dual strip track. It is hard to get to.
Like everything in Costa Rica, it's just expensive for what it is.

Comfortable room with balcony, excellent views.
Not friendly service, there was no water in our room for 12 hours and nobody said anything we had to ask what the problem was.
When asking for some bottled water we were told there was none!

Everything! This place is an absolute gem and I really wish we had more nights here. Excellent value for money. The view from our balcony was sensational and we spotted a white faced monkey, agouti and many different birds in just a few hours of being there. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food at Bamboo was delicious. It's all about that view though.
Just be aware that the road up to the hotel is a gravel track, quite steep in places. The final bit is the driveway which is concrete but super steep so be ready for it. Our two wheel drive rental managed it OK but there was a bit of wheel spin. Worth it when you get there though.

Location was good and the staff were great. Beautiful spot. Great breakfast.
Room was small. Put luggage in front of door as there was not enough space. Unable to walk to toilet with bathroom door open.

Julie immediately reached out to connect with me regarding the tremendous opportunities the area offers. She went above and beyond helping us as we stayed in South Pacific for 2 weeks even when we were not staying at Alma de Ojochal at that time. Allan and Magaly and other staff were very friendly and helped us truly feel the Pura Vida.

Beautiful property with outstanding views overlooking the jungle towards the sea and the backdrop of the mountains. Exemplary staff, rooms appointed and tastefully decorated. Will return for home base to explore more of Costa Rica.

beautiful view, lots of wildlife, very comfortable bed and linens

The driveway into the hotel is somewhat dangerous at the top and road into requires SUV and possible 4w drive on rainy days. I'd be surprised if a compact car can even make it up the road yet alone the driveway.

Beautiful place with a beautiful view and lots of wildlife
The only negative was the bed isn’t comfortable but it was a great place to stay

The view was amazing. Breakfast was included. The Bamboo restaurant on site was open 4 nights with entertainment .The food was excellent and the owner John provided great tunes .
The mountain road to get there was extremely ruff.

the fact there are only 5 rooms means it’s beautifully tranquil and feels very exclusive. there is a great view from
the pool which is lovely to relax around. the attached restaurant and bar is great fun and has a lively atmosphere
the decor of the bedroom didn’t match the very modern and luxurious bathroom

John the owner and all his staff were wonderful. John entertains at the bar restaurant every Friday Saturday and Monday. about 40 white faced monkeys came by twice in the one night we were there.

This is a great boutique hotel with beautiful views from a very spacious outside balcony.

The staff, breakfast, views and were exceptional! They really went out of our way to ensure that we were really comfortable.
The restaurant is closed until November.

Charming B&B nestled high up in the forest with sweeping jungle and ocean views. Comfortable rooms with huge terraces. Friendly and attentive staff and owners. Great live music show on Saturday and Monday by the one and only Johnny Bamboo! We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend

Alma de Ojochal is an ablolute gem! We were so happy that we stayed for another night. The view from the rooms and breakfast is amazing, lots of animals around.

The location is nice, great view and pool area. Delicious breakfast freshly prepared by Jose every day. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There are good restaurants in Ojochal, our favorite was Heliconia.
Value for money isn't good, and we were rather disappointed of the place. We were three people in a kingsize room. The description on booking.com said "sofabed" but there is no sofa. I had to sleep on a bed that looked like out of a hospital and the mattress had a plastic on it. Maybe more hygienic but totally uncomfortable. Not sure the owners ever check for the rooms to be in order. The bedside lights are some cheap unkind office supply, there are sliding doors with mosquito nets but the windows are locked, so where's the point? There's only one sunshade at the pool and it can't even be moved, shade is more or less zero. The air condition has a very bright light to display the set temperature, you kind of need blindfolds to be able to sleep... We got various e-mails with suggestions what to do in the region before we came, but during our stay, the only time we saw the owner is across the pool asking if we were doing ok while walking by (not really caring for the answer I guess). For the price we paid compared to other places, next time I'd definitely chose a different one.
