the staff was helpful, and the location is excelent
There was a power outage and lack of water for more than 24 hours, and no system was in place especially to replace the water. we left one day before because of that.

This place was located just near (but not overlooking) Quilotoa Lake. It was really packed with tourists. The single room I had was quite small and basic, but sufficient. The dinner was pretty much standard fare: potato soup, chicken, rice, potatoes, some super sweet drink, no dessert. There was a space downstairs where guests could relax, with chess boards, hammock, tables and chairs, and a dispenser to refill your water bottles. Upstairs is the breakfast room. Breakfast was not just eggs and bread, but also a varied fruit plate. Since I was leaving very early the next day, they kindly offered to give me breakfast at 6:30 am and also arranged for a taxi to pick me up. This hostel is a great place to meet other travelers.
Unfortunately the bathroom had a sort of bad smell. Also, the water in the shower wasn’t very hot, despite letting it run for awhile. My room was noisy as it was located near the reception and near the open area downstairs. Some other guests were very loud at night. Around 10:30 or 11 pm a staff member came, told them to be quiet, and turned out the lights. After that, everything was quiet.
Although the room price included dinner and breakfast, I think you can probably find a better deal at some of the other hostels.

Best staff!
Very good breakfast and lunch included.
Best location!

The food was delicious, the breakfast very generous, the shower was hot, the bed was comfi, I met very nice people there and the location can't be better (right in front of the view point).
The ceiling over the beds is a bit low so I had to duck a little to get there. Also, the lady at reception (which was very nice) told me the last bus is at 5:30pm, and it was at 5:00pm, so I missed it and had to pay a taxi to the next town. Would expect staff in hostels to know better or say "I don't know", as I plan my day by their word...

Beautiful hotel just outside the Laguna Quilotoa. Personnel was very kind and helpful. We had a room with a terrace with a wonderful view over the mountains. All what's necessary is provided - along with breakfast, dinner and a stove in a room, in case you got cold (remember it is 4000m above sea level)
Everything was perfect!

Very good!
Wrong place on Google maps

Nice room. Fire in your room.
A bit pricy compared to other options in Quilotoa. Dinner could’ve been better.

location , good breakfast
the bed had a plastic covered mattress making it uncomfortable for sleeping. The evening meal was poor.

Nice clean hotel close to the crater rim. Good meals, fairly helpful staff. They will start the wood burning stove in your room while you have dinner.
It’s a little sparse and there wasn’t a lot of info like where meals where going to happen so we ended up walking around searching a few times. But it’s in a great spot and it does the job.

location is great. Facilities are good.
Staff was very unhelpful. freezing They wouldn’t turn on heat in common area until we asked for over 2hrs. They ran out of drinking water, but wouldn’t put out a new one even though they had more. Had to pay for hot water for coffee or tea. Internet didn’t work in rooms or common area.

Delightful lodge. Very quaint, great food. Strongly recommended

it’s location, and that it had a wood burner in the rooms
my room and bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, however this was rectified once I complained

The location and the atmosphere were really nice!
The last stay on our 3 night hiking Quilotoa Loop, this was the most expensive accomodation with no additional value added. Room pretty small, food portions small, nothing special on the menu, chicken and rice... No drinking filtered water available, just bottles for purchase.
Also, it was advertised that there will be sauna available. We asked and there was none.
All at all, it was definitely a good place to stay, no issues, everything clean and organized.

the location was great, right next to the Quilotoa crater rim. Food in the restaurant was good.

We loved the log fire in our room, as at 13,500 feet it can get quite cold. Our room was very clean, the shower had good pressure and had lots of hot water, which was great after a long day of dusty hiking. The breakfast and dinner with our room rate was amazing, especially considering how little it cost. This area has plenty of extra hiking for us to do, and we would love to return to this hosteria one day.
The lady who runs the operation is an absolute delight, she gave us a small gift when we departed, all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Don't be put off buy how cheap it is to stay here, it is amazing, I have stayed and places at 15x the cost and not been as satisfied.

Great location next to the viewpoints, extremely good value. We had a room with external windows that was very cute, not many of the rooms seemed to have external windows though. They lit the log burning stove to warm the room at night which was enough to keep us warm in bed.
The main dish for the included dinner wasn’t great- just a dry chicken thigh, some rice, some mashed potato and a mouthful of salad. Would have been much better with some kind of sauce. The hotel can get very cold.

Perfectly located in front of the crater, staff friendly and helpful and really good food.
Matress were not really comfortable

Lovely fireplace for keeping warm at night, nice local food and overall, a comfortable place to stay. Breakfast was tasty.
Some of the facilities a bit outdated and could be modernised. Not as good value for money compared to other options perhaps.

Attentive staff
Charming guesthouse aesthetic
Cozy room did not have much space for luggage; not really a problem.

Beds were comfortable, great location across the street from la laguna.
No common space to hang out, everything was tables and chairs and the chairs were usually up on top of the tables. Food wasn’t great.

The Hosteria is very cozy. The staff is very friendly and there is a nice common area where you can relax and play some games. The food was very nice and the location is awesome.
The rooms are al interconnected with the common area. And the rooms are not soundproof, so you will hear people talking when they are in the common area.

The hotel has potential to be lovely with the spacious shared room and good location...
Unfortunately it was extremely cold wherever you went. The room, the shared space, and the restaurant were freezing cold. There were heaters, but none turned on. In addition, the hostess made sure my stay turned out very unpleasantly. When I bought a tiny bottle of Ecuadorian "wine" she charged me 8 dollars, but when I checked out and was to pay the next day she changed the price to 10 dollars! ("wine" I returned immediately after the first sip) Also, diner was very poor. The vegetarian meal was just plain spaghetti soaked in teriyaki saus. I do not recommend this place.

We really enjoyed staying at the hotel. The rooms were clean, food tasty and the stuff always helpfull. Wifi worked well in social room.

Perfect location, directly across the road from the mirador. Nice and warm coming into the restaurant/reception out of the cold. Delicious dinner and breakfast.

During my stay it was really cold there. The staff have put on the fire place so that was really friendly, but still the it was a bit cold.

This property reminds me of an alpine lodge with its design and use of wood. It's cosy too, with electric heaters and a wood stove in your bedroom to keep you warm at night. The bed was wide and comfortable, spacious for two people. Hot water in the shower. Decent dinner and breakfast. Quiet at night and right opposite the mirador looking out across Quilotoa Lake. We also enjoyed the chess games in the lounge area with heaters to keep you warm. The free tea was another bonus.
The lighting in the room could have been better – a bedside lamp would have made a huge difference. The shower head in our room needs fixing or replacing as water shoots out the back and sides. No hooks in the room to hang jackets or other clothes.

It was really nice that there was a small wood-burning stove that one of the staff lit in the early evening, as the room was very cold due to low outside temperatures and wind.

The supper served was warm which was lovely after the cold windy hike.
In general, it was not very warm in any of the rooms and took a bit of pestering to get staff to come and start the fireplace for us. The breakfast was very basic after having amazing meals at hostels the days prior. The steady flow of hikers combined with others arriving in Quilotoa by bus allows them to keep the prices a bit higher. It just kind of is what it is for all accommodations in Quilotoa.

Comfortable room and bed
Hot and nice shower
Good breakfast
Good location
Nice and comfortable common areas
Dinner can be improved. Small portion and not so good. Not exactly what you would like to have after one day of hiking.
Heating system in the room did not function well.
