The breakfast was delicious and filling. The accommodations were absolutely lovely and a simple passage through an archway leads to the beach. Each room is unique and the patterns on all the tiles keep the eye moving. Coffee table books show that this site has won design awards.
The Wi-Fi signal is spotty and weak. If you are on vacation and this is of no concern than no problem. It became a hassle for us because we needed to reschedule a flight that was canceled because of a transportation workers' strike in Germany. We have an extra data plan, but who really wants to use it when Wi-Fi is usually a better alternative.

The establishment is basically a hidden gem in La Marsa. The decoration, architecture and especially rooms have a mystical and magical feeling to them, details from the past and traditional Tunisian culture mixed with the interior restauration and rework makes it an out of time and space place
The fact that we stayed in February and we couldn't use the pool !

Unfortunately we had to drive to an ATM because we had to pay in cash since the card-payment terminal did not work.
other than that we were rather content. Also, the breakfast is good for tunesian standards

BEWARE COCKROACHES:
Dar Marsa Cubes has cockroaches. We found two of them on our second night at the hotel. Finding the second cockroach in our room was the breaking point that led us to leave the hotel after a series of poor experiences. Dar Marsa Cubes feels like a bed and breakfast, but charges 4-star hotel prices. We realize that cockroaches can be common with hot temperatures and in certain places, however, it is not what we signed up for when booking a hotel that costs over 100 euros a night.
STRANGE CHECK-IN:
When we arrived we had a strange check-in experience. We were asked to pay upon arrival and then taken to our room -- right next to the check-in area and front door. The staff asked if we liked our room. It was much smaller than it looked online and the thin door right next to the check-in area meant that we could hear everything in the lobby. We asked if there were other rooms available, perhaps further away from the main entrance, but they said the hotel was full for the 4 nights of our planned stay. The photos online were much better than reality. We felt like we'd been taken advantage of.
DIRTY BATHROOM:
The bathroom didn't have a holder for the toilet bowl brush so it was just laying on the floor near the toilet. The shower door joints leaked and flooded the floor with water, including where the toilet brush was laying on the floor. When we shared this with the hotel, they said the shower leaked because we were tall. The shower itself was moldy.
COCKROACHES:
We returned to the hotel on our second night and found a cockroach in the bathroom, which we trapped. We shared this with the hotel and they said, "okay," but did not offer any solutions. We then asked if they could come and take it out of our room and if we could have a new room. They responded with: "like we told you the other day, we are full, there are no other rooms." The next morning we found a second cockroach next to our bed. That was it. We packed our bags and told the hotel that we were leaving. The hotel did not try to find any solutions for our stay. They reimbursed us for the two nights that we didn't stay at the hotel.
EARLY DEPARTURE:
We felt that a full reimbursement for all four nights should have been offered or at least three nights, as we did not really sleep the night we found the cockroaches. Eventually, the hotel transferred reimbursement for the two nights we did not use a week after we left (they could not reimburse the credit card we used to pay for the room). We felt they did the absolute minimum they could do. We found a great Airbnb for half the price in La Marsa and moved there for our last two nights.
BOOKING.COM - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
We booked through Booking with the false assumption that they could support us in a situation like we had. Our previous hotel in Tunis was excellent. When we reached out to Booking.com customer service about Dar Marsa Cubes and the cockroaches, they did not provide any support, other than offer a 15% reimbursement on the 4-night stay we booked. Do not expect Booking.

The management was very kind and welcoming. The location is very practical, right across the beach.
The wifi was not working very well and slow connectivity.
3.0 / 5.0
The staff (Amel & Stephane) were super helpful and kind. The breakfast prepared by Amel was enormous and excellent. The house itself is beautiful. We spent a lot of time in the garden/pool, which was super comfortable. We were also able to invite a couple friends over for coffee, which was very nice.
We booked the Jasmin suite. It is definitely not a suite as the bathroom and lounge are separate. In addition the lounge is a pass-through room to get to the terrace, which is sold as private but this is not the case. It is actually a roof top terrace, so too big to be sold as private. The bathroom only has a bath, which takes about 30min to fill up and the shower cable is too short to use as a real shower. Sometime there is no hot water due to “the boiler flame being blown out by the wind”. The beach is very close but not clean (Tunis issue more than this specific beach). Overall its a beautiful and comfortable house with great service but would not recommend due to the excessive price.

The house is fabulous. Very clean.
The staff was friendly but very reserved and without enthusiasm.
Structure not the best for young kids (no kid chair)

The breakfast was very good. the location is quiet. close to the beach.
before to do my reservation, I went through the comments, I was quit impressed with the general feedback. But actually when reached there, it was a bit disappointing, the room was very small, the bathroom as well. it was very hot during the night due to heating system.

Breakfast was super and close to beach by walking . And surely decoration .
We were two persons but they put 1 towel for bath . And shower cabin was very bad , so small . Personal was interesting because they don't want to talk . After 10 pm you must try to enter to hostel because noone you can find easily.
