Die Lage im Dschungel. Die Aussicht auf den Vulkan war sehr schön.
Alles top!

Everything. This was my favorite place to stay. The view was amazing from the hotel room, property was maintained extremely well, and the rooms were comfortable, ac worked well, pool was nice, Jimmy R. one of the bartender was super friendly and fun to talk with.
Nothing. Had everything I was wanting.

La comida y el servicio en el restaurante, cuando llegamos a desayunar no había nada tuvimos que esperar que prepararan los alimentos. El jugo estaba feo.

A little expensive for what it is.
Beautiful surroundings.

The view was absolutely breathtaking every morning, and breakfast was amazing with a variety of options. The staff is very accommodating, and willing to help in any manner. It was a very welcoming feeling, especially when you’re in a different country.
I really can’t complain about anything. The only thing I could complain about is how bad my legs hurt, sometimes walking up the hill to my room LOL

We loved staying at the Lost Iguana. Pool was awesome, loved the hiking trail, the bath tub on our patio and outdoor shower were amazing. The dinner at the restaurant was just okay, breakfast we enjoyed more! It’s a little bit off the beaten path (if you don’t have a car I imagine it’s hard to get around) - but we would definitely stay there again!
Restaurant was a bit overpriced for the quality, and the hills to the rooms were challenging so just a note for anyone who is not up for a steep climb to your room! The rooms could also be updated a bit, and the bed was pretty firm.
4.4
Spectacular view in an outstanding area surrounded by forest.
The rooms were cozy and nice with forest decorations.
Nice lunch and dinner at reasonable prices.
Breakfast was nice but limited to 4-5 items although you could make/order your own.
Incredibly friendly staff
The location is perfect however it's too far from the airport (San Jose in our case) and the roads are very narrow but again this could be positive when you are there to relax far from crowded city life.
4.4
the view outside our window and on our balcony overseeing the Arenal mountain. the lush gardens and landscaping. the staff were helpful and friendly. comfortable beds. good breakfast
the restaurant needs a menu update for dinner, wouldn’t recommend eating there. if you don’t have a car, the location makes it difficult to get to any attractions and/or food etc. the water cut out a couple of times while we were there, not a huge biggie but when you’re paying $$$ the little things count. personally, I feel it’s a little expensive for the facilities and the outdated decor

The resort was beautiful, we were surrounded by nature and greenery, definitely felt like we were staying in the jungle. The view of the volcano from the room was spectacular. The room was immaculate, and the cleanliness of the entire resort made us feel very comfortable. The food and drinks were great, but none of these would have been possible without the amazing staff. Luis, Nacho, Edgar, and Joshi made us feel right at home, they're amazing at what they do.
We honestly cannot think of anything we did not like.

I’ve rated this a 10 but is more of 8/9 but it’s shortcomings (more later) are more than made up for by the stunning forest environment. We saw more wildlife from our balcony and on the hotel’s forest trail than on any of the paid for tours we went on. You must walk their trail, very very slowly. And there is nothing that can compare with looking at that volcano every day from our balcony, particularly at sun rise. Absolutely stunning. it feels like you are looking out across the forest canopy towards the volcano. You can sit on your balcony watching the afternoon rain approaching and here the unbelievable noise it makes ! Book a top floor room!!!
La Fortuna is a tourist hell-hole so it was great to get somewhere away from all that, but handy for all the activities
Snacks and appetisers are better value than Entrees IMHO and a couple of them are more adequate and very nice, raw tuna nachos were brilliant
Rooms are accurately portrayed on website
They have the room lighting very wrong. Just a big harsh ceiling light or an over the bed spot light which you have to get out of bed to turn off. There is no mood lighting at all. There are no bed side tables, lights or sockets either. The light on the balcony just illuminates the no smoking sign, you couldn’t read by it. We did however find some candles in bathroom which we used on the balcony.
La Fortuna is a family destination so there are families staying at the hotel which means if your looking for a mature vibe at the swim up bar midday to mid afternoon is the best time because after that time it’s basically a kids pool.
Bar vibe would have been better with out the big TV showing ESPN sports channel, but then I’m from UK not US
Service and tax NOT included in menu price . So when service is added why then ask to add tips ?

we loved the location as it is far outside of la fortuna and is great for if you want to relax
Our last night as we where leaving early morning ( 5 am) there was no water to shower and no staff available to fix this. After 10 pm
there is only a security that’s it

Did not have the breakfast, but had a delicious dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful with getting a tour set up at the last minute. Loved the view of the volcano from our room.
Had problems trying to get reservations directly and had to use booking.com

staff super friendly, nice hot pool with wet bar. Pool bar tender very helpful, incl. showing us small red eye frog on leave next to the bar :)
Nice hiking trail on property. View from room balcony is amazing
5 dollar for a cappuccino at breakfast?? After the room was over 300.- and breakfast buffet is not really special. Spoiled the overall impression. „double beds“ only recommended for 1 person, saggy and way to soft

Amazing breakfast. Perfect location. Great hiking trail on site
4.4
Great remote location with beautiful view of Arenal volcano out on the back patio. The on-site restaurant was outstanding.
Zero complaints

Outstanding facilities and setting.
All good.

The grounds and gardens are well kept and there are lots of humming birds, the walking trail is also nice. The volcano view is spectacular especially if you are lucky enough for a clear sky. We upgraded to a suite for Christmas and the room was amazing, really big and comfortable and we liked the outside showers and hot tub. We enjoyed sitting in the heated pool for late afternoon happy hour and pool towels are provided.
We felt the hotel was trying too hard to cater for North American and European families and was lacking in authenticity, but we don't usually come to resorts like this. Arenal/ La Fortuna in general was the most touristy place we visited in CR.
They add 10% service charge and 13% tax onto everything so the final bill was expensive and the restaurant was a bit hit and miss. Need a car or tour transportation to get anywhere.

View was incredible! The restaurant was convenient and happy hour was great!
The light for the outsdie shower didnt work so we couldn't use it at night which is when we returned from a day trip. The tub water wouldn't get hot either. We informed staff and they said they'd send someone but never did. At check out they did issue us a credit for our troubles.
4.4
the view from our room was amazing and the staff was very helpful
they did not clean the room unless we asked them to do it. and the floor from our bathroom started to leak. to reserve the tours the hotel charged us 20 dollars and did not warn us about that extra cost.
4.4
What’s not to like!! The view from the room was STUNNING. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful. The food was excellent. Had a great time here-our best stay in the whole two weeks in Costa Rica
The wifi was down for a whole day of our trip-made forward planning a bit difficult-but the staff were responsive and it was not their fault (the electricity company was to blame).
The key cards for the room didn’t work every day necessitating a trip to reception up and down a hill!
