Beautiful property.
At first glance the room was clean but when I went to use the plug socket there was thick dust and under the bed had not been cleaned in a long time. I needed to push the bed to the side and was met with months worth of dust and litter.

We loved everything, amazing building, rooms were gorgeous and spotless, staff were extremely friendly and helpful The food was fabulous. The porridge with the single malt for breakfast was delicious. The value for money was incredible. We will be back and want to try out the other properties belonging to James.

Good parking, suite was a good size room and was quiet in the evening.
Very dark on the inside lounge although probably cosy in the winter months with the log fires. Did not ask if we wanted sauces at breakfast or toast. You could get if asked but could not find staff easily. But breakfast on hole was fine. Staff need more training in customer service.

Excellent staff, all friendly and helpful, a delight to visit, steeped in historic features, lovely building and surrounding areas, food was excellent, thank you.
Meal moved back by 40 mins from my online booking due to a wedding, not too happy but after saying this the meal was very nice indeed, compliments to the chef.

location
The property is good but the lack of understanding from the management buffles me. I prepaid for the hotel on booking.com using my partner Gregory Law’s credit card and when we checked out of the hotel they charged Gregory Law’s credit card again for the same stay. They are still insisting we booked the hotel direct when we clearly didn’t.

Amazing place
Stunning location, lovely room, stayed in the Kings Suite, fantastic views over to the river. The most fantastic reception hall with so many original features, like something from a film set, staff really on top of their game.
Looking forward to returning.
A few areas could do with a little more cleaning, and carpets in the rooms are looking shabby.

beautiful historical property
the room was modern and small which was disappointing

Breakfast average, semi self-service OK but hot served breakfasts could have been more freshly cooked - not just the eggs. The Bistro bar service was excellent, especially the staff. The food was of a high standard- the steak and ale pie was great.
The lighting in the bedroom could have been brighter.

I liked the upgrade to a suite! The entrance is magnificant and extremly welcoming with the fire. A tad warm perhaps!
More fresh fruit for breakfast, there was only bits of apple left and a grape when we went. Toast on a plate could be upgraded to a toast rack. But if thats all im able to write then Its not much of "what didnt i like"
