Dinner in the evening was delicious, and staff very friendly. Attentive to my husbands gluten free (Coeliac) requirements.
Room comfortable and quiet.
Didn't like the fact there was a large step up to the toilet seat - we were a little afraid of tripping in the night if we needed to use it. Don't know if there's a structural reason why it couldn't be on normal floor level.

I have been coming to this pub for nearly 40 years so I know the location well and have seen many changes. I hope that the current owners do not lose the character of this pub, as the staff are marvellous.
The quality of the food has deteriorated since our last visit, which was surprising. This comment is made to both a light lunch in the bar, and also a meal for two during the evening - disappointing!

A good size and very comfortable room. Food in the pub was excellent. Staff was very helpful
There was an issue with my shower but staff did address this immediately I made them aware.

This is a stunning property in a beautiful location on the Western bank of the River Test surrounded by trout streams and rivers that cross and interlink through the village.
The rooms are finely furnished and have real character. Facilities were ample and comfortable.
The bar and restaurant are welcoming and very popular at lunchtimes and in the evenings with an impressive menu. The cooked breakfast was very good.
The staff that I dealt with were friendly and helpful.
These are only small niggles but for over £200 that I paid, it’s worth mentioning.
The room was generally clean but there was a fair bit of dust on side tables and mantelpiece which was surprising . The tea / coffee making facilities in the room were fine but the sachets of sugar were crystallised and solid, so I’m guessing they hadn’t been checked for some time.

Location is wonderful, staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was a very good standard.
Room cost was very high indeed. Although clean, decor was tired. Shower head was scaled up, paintwork was stained, bed was very soft. Although a room fan was provided, room was stuffy, even with window opened.

Good food but felt it expensive. Bed not comfortable for me but might be alright for other people.
Felt it was expensive for what I had.

Room was attractive and well appointed. Good situation in quiet village within walking distance of Stockbridge. Food was excellent (dinner and breakfast).
Bed had a thick, wool (?) mattress topper and as the room was a nice temperature (underfloor heating?) it was far too hot in the bed and we did not sleep well.
There is no actual door between the bedroom and the bathroom, just a loose sliding panel, so not much privacy when using bathroom.

Excellent location in a pretty English village. Very helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of time to help and joke with us. Served a superb breakfast with so much choice. We also enjoyed the Sunday lunch. The room "Mayfly Mess" was very comfortable. Loved that bath ! Bathroom shower was outstanding!! A relaxing stay, thank you to Shelley and her team.
Not a criticism, but the pub gets very busy, evenings and Sundays. It pays to book in advance. Thank you to Shelly for suggesting that.

Food was excellent. I had dinner.
A later finish time for breakfast would have been appreciated.

The Food was excellent. The room was very cosy, with all the mod cons but very traditional and interesting.
The bar shut at 10pm ( bit early).
