We really enjoyed our time in our cabin. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. There was abundant wildlife on the property. We saw more wildlife here than at the national park. We enjoyed this place more than staying in town because of the seclusion, privacy and quiet. The cabin was very cute and charming and the shower was nice. It was nice to have a fridge in the room as well as a shared kitchen to use.
Our first night there we were locked out of our cabin and there was no one at reception. It was only 5 pm not late at night. We were stuck for 3 hours with no shoes, phones, money, food, water, etc. No one ever came to reception. We had to have another guest call the owners who were away in Europe who had to then call someone to come and let us in our cabin. Without the help from the other guest, we might have been stuck sleeping outside all night. There was also a fiesty dog on the property who would not stop attempting to 'play' with me and I ended up with scratches and bruises on my legs. They were apologetic, but I definitely think the place could have been managed better! That experience would have made a less chill person super angry. Also, the cabins were pretty rustic. There were tons of insects inside and it got very hot during the day. The fans were helpful, but if you are sensitive to heat and bugs look elsewhere.

The staff was flexible with a late check in, kind and generous with free fruit and a coconut. They cleaned the room daily and did laundry for us. And they found a red eye tree frog for us to observe when they realized I loved seeing all the animals on the property. It was clean, the WIFI worked strong in the room, two fans in the room kept us cool, the pool was great, we didn't see one mosquito here (mid-November) but the best part was all the animals on the property - a couple types of poison dart frogs, red-eye green tree frog, iguanas greeting us at the pool, agouti scampering about the grounds, various birds and more. I don't think they served breakfast which was fine. Next door was Bridgett's and they had some delicious breakfast options. It was about a ten minute walk to the town but only a couple minutes up the street from the beach and reggae bar. The best part of the location for us was it's setting in the woods where it was peaceful and we could see many animals right on the property.

We loved seeing and hearing the wildlife from our cabin. We also enjoyed using the swimming pool. It was a short walk to the beach where we were able to hire paddle boards / surfboards etc. We also had excellent food and drink at nearby bars/restaurants that were all welcoming and family friendly. Slightly longer walk into the town (about 20 minutes).
Lots of biting bugs! Mosquito nets are provided but 3 out of 4 of us were attacked on a nightly basis. We did use repellent etc. It does rain heavily in Costa Rica in the rainy season; it's warm rain so it didn't bother us too much but it's definitely worth packing a lightweight raincoat and an umbrella!

A couple of bigger Bungalows, set in lush tropical environment, with a small pool in the middle, set back app. 100m from the black beach, what more could you want? Well how about Monkeys and various Birds, e.g Hummingbirds, and other wildlife coming to visit while you relax on the terrace or in the pool.
If you have been backpacking in the tropics in your youth, this is the place to go with your family to show them the full picture.
We had the large, three bedroom, bungalow with kitchen and dining room which felt a bit like a mountain hut due to its rather dark interior. Having got used to this the hut is just perfect for a family. The owners running the place are very friendly and attentive. Cahuita is a layed back, "wild", spot, luckily yet lacking the hype and vibe of a tourism hot spot like Puerto Viejo.

Lots of wildlife right outside the rooms, we saw lizards, tocanos, ginnie pigs, lots of birds, small frogs and beautiful nature. Really relaxing
I will pay some extra money to have AC. It will be nice if the pool can be open at 7am instead of 9am. Thats it, otherwise is great, good value for money. We will be back

The owners were very obliging and helpful. We had enough space and the surrounding was beautiful (lot of agutis and howler monkeys in the jungle). We also had a nice terrace with a hammock.
Because its near the jungle/ocean there were lot of cockroaches and it was very humid.

We just loved it here! The location is very nice - a couple meters to the beach and a 15 min walk to Cahuita. We felt very safe, even during the night.
The cabins are simple but cute. We had the family cabin which comes with a kitchen and everything you need. The beds are clean and come with a Moskito net.
The sell eggs from their chickens and are so helpful. They showed us a lot of animals, the guy working there was so super friendly and always happy to talk to us.
The lady behind the reception even offered a free transport to the bus when we had to leave.
We definitely recommend this amazing place and will come back ASAP! :) thanks for everything!
