Jackie was a wonderful host and very friendly
Nothing at all the place was very peaceful
4.1
Great location. Jackie was very helpful. Very clean and comfortable. Good shower.
Having booked a room with private bathroom, we were surprised that there was just a shower in the room with the toilet down the corridor.

Great location, friendly owner. No complaints.
No significant issues, really.

Jackie the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The shared bathroom was extremely clean, and full of toiletries, as she maintains it throughout the day.
Bedroom was very clean and tidy and bed was comfy.
Located on a quite street just a short walk either way to town centre or the beach.
Hard to say anything bad really, apart from the door to a neighbouring room was very loud and creeky.

Very friendly host. Took care of securely storing my Brompton and trailer. Had all the creature comforts a weary bicycle tourist needs.
Nothing worth mentioning

The location is excellent - just a minute walk from the sea and a few mins walk to the centre of Whitley Bay and the Metro. Also Jackie, the lady who runs it was exceptionally nice and helpful and keeps the place spotless.
This is an old style seaside B&B (without the breakfast) - unpretentious and maybe from another era and is fine for a night or two. There are no facilities in the room beyond a kettle, though, so longer stayers may find themselves wanting a fridge at least. The central heating is very patchy - it only comes on for an hour or so in the morning and then another couple of hours later in the day. If you're in the room in the middle of the day it gets very cold. For what it is, though, it is good value budget accommodation in a convenient location. If you've seen Get Carter (the original) you'll get an idea.

Wifi signal is strong than i expected.
Jackie is nice
The TV is no network, the heater is not work. Although i turn to the maximum but the room still cold all the time. One day i almost spend a whole day at room. I found that the heater is work timeslot : 16:00-18:00, 20:00-23:00, 08:00-09:00.
Even i turned the power to maximum, but it still a little bit warm only. The man who stayed next room also complained the heater is not warm.
I asked Jackie next day, she said it's normal because she is setting the timeslot and temperature.
Are you kidding?
It's 0 degree outside at the midnight but the heater is not work because was the settings?
I am happy to stay again, but definitely not in winter.

Good location between the beach and Metro. Large room with private bathroom and TV. Snacks, tea and coffee in the room and the gust house was well heated and decorated. Really great value for money

I should say the room an bathroom was very neat. Good tv and enough towels, shampoo, snacks, tea coffee. Location was good as well. Room heating wasn’t on my first night, luckily there were 2 duvets in the room. I did tell them next day and was resolved. Can’t blame them for taking some controlling measures with soaring energy price, but please make sure there is adequate heating. Wifi was good and I was staying in the downstairs.
Noise level was extremely high. There were children crying till 12:30 every night, I am not sure they live in the same place or next door, clearly not guests. It was a disturbance, more than that it was sad hearing children crying continuously late night. They only have 2 parking which will be full almost all the time. There is free parking (till 9) on the roadside which means you have to leave by 9 or get up and pay in the morning.

I was staying room only which suited my personal needs and finding holiday accommodation for one at a reasonable price is not easy. The Pines Guest House is a good traditional establishment with a good reputation for being well ran in a friendly manner while respecting residents’ privacy. My single room was clean , comfortable and warm as required. It was well maintained each day with e.g.used towels being replaced and hospitality tray being topped up as required. The Pines attracted a good class of guests in the week I was there , ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep.
The location was very convenient for Whitley Bay’s shopping and entertainment facilities and the excellent coastal stretch there is only minutes away by foot. I no longer drive so was pleased by the plentiful bus services to Newcastle And Northumberland. And of course Whitley Bay has its own station within The Metro rail network ?
Nothing comes readily to mind. Next time would try staying there in Spring/ early Summer to make more of the sights and sea life around Northumberland.

Owner very friendly & helpful.
Would stay again if we return to Whitley Bay.
Separate toilet but we knew this before our stay.
The shower head holder was broken so had to hold shower whilst using.

Lovely location. A bit dated. Jackie was very helpful. They don't do breakfast anymore. But she fave me a toaster so I could make something for the little one on a morning before we went out for breakfast. Property could do with being updated. Apart from that is was OK.
Needs updating
