Het is een mooie karakteristieke woning. Het heeft een huiselijk gevoel en een fijne locatie. Van de eigenaar hebben we nog heel veel tips gekregen om te ontdekken.

Das Kleinod von Swellendam, eine absolute Empfehlung!

Bezaubernde Unterkunft, idyllisch gelegen mit traumhaftem Garten. Ausgesprochen sympathischer Gastgeber mit dem man sehr interessante Gespräche führen kann. Das Frühstück war hervorragend und sehr liebevoll zubereitet. Danke für die schöne Zeit im Cypress Cottage!!

Ontzettend goede gastheer

We hebben een zeer warm welkom gekregen van de vriendelijke eigenaar die bovendien een goed woordje Nederlands spreekt. Hij heeft ons kort verteld over de historie van Swellendam. Zijn restaurant tips waren erg goed. Hij heeft ons Republiek Swellendam aangeraden en daar hebben we heerlijk gegeten. De volgende dag heeft hij ons ook tips meegegeven voor op de route naar Plettenberg Baai. Zo gaf hij ons mee te gaan lunchen bij Ile Du Pain in Knysna. Voortreffelijk! Het Guest House heeft sfeervolle kamers en de bedden liggen prima.

Für eine Nacht vollkommen ausreichend. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Leute.

Sehr netter Eigentümer der uns wirklich jeden Wunsch erfüllte. Sicherer Parkplatz für das Auto und direkt vor der Haustür. Das Haus selbst ist zwar schon etwas älter aber trotzdem in einem guten Zustand mit Grillmöglichkeiten und einem Pool. Alter Ofen im Zimmer zum heizen und wirklich einen süßen Hund der uns gar nicht mehr von der Seite weichen wollte.

Gibt nix negatives zum Aussetzen.

Historical stay in Swellendam

Etienne was so interesting and knowledgeable about the local area and South Africa in general. The guest house was beautiful and the room we had was comfortable and very well equipped. There was WiFi ,hot water and lights during load shedding. The breakfast was tasty and generous. There was pool but too cold for us in August. A great stay, we would stay again. Location was good for the village and the national park.

Exceptional

By now, we're back in the Netherlands after a simply wonderful holiday in South-Africa (and Mauritius). We have lots of wonderful memories and our stay in Swellendam was definitely one of them! The house was stunning! An old VOC house with a matching interior. But what really stood out for us was our host. A relaxed, funny, informative and hospitable and friendly guy. Thanks again for making our stay a memorable one!

Comfort and no nonsense hospitality for a great price. Friendly staff.

We have stayed n the same room before and we return to Cypress cottage because it represents incredible value for money when we go up to Swellendam. The room is large, the bed is fantastic and the water is hot. Also the parking is easy and safe. You can actually walk to nearby restaurants. Etienne is there if you need him but just let's you get on with things.

Very pleasant relaxing stay provided by a great host.

The house was full of Old World character set in a peaceful location close to all amenities and within easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. The room was clean comfortable and well equipped. The pool was adequate with a good sitting area providing comfortable loungers and good quality towels. Great breakfast with a full range of choices served on the veranda overlooking the beautiful garden. The host Etienne was a mine of local knowledge which he shared by advising on visiting local attractions and route advice for our onward journey.

Lovely stay in Swellendam!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cypress Cottage! The guesthouse is immaculate - beautifully decorated and spotless. The hosts are friendly and helpful - lovely people to chat to. We would highly recommend Cypress Cottage and we would definitely stay again.
