Awesome to spend more time trying to get your money back than you spent at the hotel.

This Hotel charged my credit card days after my stay eventhough it was already paid for in full. Without any explanation. They refuse to get back to me concerning this. Do NOT give this hotel your credit card; they might charge you double, like me. Gross incompetence or straight up criminal behavior, who‘s to say?

Nice hotel, nice setting in a busy city!

Nice hotel, we were greeted outside the hotel by friendly staff giving us the information about parking and showing us to front reception. Great restaurant for dinner and breakfast! Friendly staff and great service! Rooms were clean. Nice pool area.

The person at the front desk was not as friendly as the other staff.

Nice place to stay, good food, but not much to see in the surrounding area

The breakfast was really good. The staff was nice and helpful.

The air conditioner didn't work in the room we were given. Had already unpacked by the time we realized the place was not cooling down. Talked to the staff and were given another room. A bit of a hassle to move to another room and start over as it took away time from exploring the area. Also, the location isn't what I was expecting. I thought there would be more to see/do nearby but that wasn't the case.

No repitiria, muy descuidado.

Las vistas de la piscina.

Lo descuidado que esta todo, encima yo en la suit no había luz, dos lámparas en el apartado de la cama que tenía que encender la linterna del móvil para ver algo. Todas las pareces rozadas, el armario roto, la mesa para cambiar, todo picado. Le hace falta una remodelación entera.

Overall a nice, clean hotel

Breakfast was wonderful (a lot of variety and the staff was very helpful). AC worked well and the room was very clean. I was able to do a late check-out ($30 extra). The pool looked lovely, however it was a bit crowded and we didn't have the opportunity to use it.

Reception was hit and miss on friendliness - everyone we interacted with was pleasant to very kind, but our initial reception was less than warm. One restaurant recommendation that we took seemed to be a bit odd (the restaurant asked where we were staying - it seemed like it was a referral/kick-back deal) - the food was fine, but I think we would have been better seeking out something on our own.

Good place to say for a few nights

The place is very easy to find and a good location for start your Costa Rica experience. The pool is very tidy and the staff very friendly. Breakfast is served as buffet. Auténtico is located near the main attractions of San José. Internet is very fast.

The humidity in the room was very high. It might be no good idea to go out after sunset, because the area might be unsafe. It is safe during the day.

Great for folks who put cleanliness and location as priority

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Restaurants and convenience stores are about 15 mins walking distance. The hotel is located on a small street, so it is quiet. The food served at the restaurant inside the hotel was pretty decent.

Nothing major. The room is relatively small. The swimming pool is also small.

Great Junior suite for 4 nights

I had Junior Suite, Room 219, corner, for 4 nights. This hotel was great, I booked airport pickup from them in advance, pickup was there when i exited airport. about 20 min drive from airport to hotel. Check-in was quick, staff friendly. The pool looked nice, but i never used it. The room was great! lounge area, dinning area, 2 queen beds, TV, a safe, and large bathroom. Breakfast included. The TV only has one English channel, CNN travel channel. The food was good, breakfast was a bit lacking, they did have fresh fruit and fresh juice. I ordered twice from the restaurant, both times delivered to my room as i asked. Caesar salad with grilled chicken was very good, and grilled chicken with salad and fries meal, with ice cream (comes with chocolate sauce on side) was a good second meal. I used the tour agency that is under the hotel, around the corner to the right, willy tours, its nice that it is close. The hotel is very close (1 block) from the large park in San jose, and within 30 min walk of downtown san jose (central market, etc..) I walked to multiple museums, parks, downtown, restaurants, the hotel is in a good location, and has a door security guard at night. Grocery supermarket 1 block across the street. Overall this was a great hotel to stay at, quality and value for money, I would return again for sure.

There is not much i didnt like, but i am very critical so did notice some things: -The room floors are extremely slippery. They are some kind of wood or fake wood floor, but with socks or without socks (dry feet) you slide very easily on the floors. Probably ok if you wear shoes in the room. -The only thing missing from the perfect room was a mini fridge. -The ice machine was on the 3rd floor (i was on second), most hotels normally put one on each floor, but not a big deal, i dont mind a flight of stairs.

Good for business travelers and short term stays

Capable and friendly staff. Good value.

Safe was old type with a key. Did not know if it worked. (Did not ask front desk) Facility was not a recent design, lacks details of newer hotels (Small bathrooms) Yet functional overall!

Good for 1 night

Easy to get to for 1 night stay, comfortabel big bed, easy secure parking, very friendly staff, great water pressure in the shower which was lovely after some days staying at places with very little water pressure. Also the breakfast was great

No option to turn on the air ventilation in the bathroom, which made it very damp. For the price I would’ve expected the bathroom and bedroom to be cleaner. We also slept with a window facing the restaurant which was a bit noisy, although the restaurant closes at 10PM, so around 10:30 it was pretty silent. Just good to keep in mind

It was fine and pretty reflective of the price

Everything was clean, everything worked fine and the breakfast was pretty good.

Reception wasn’t super helpful, but not a big deal. We asked if they knew how to get to Manuel Antonio and they said they had no idea, I would assume that’s a pretty common question and there was at least a brochure on the wall.
