A property with character. Very friendly staff.

We stopped at the Chateau de Grosfy for one night on our way to Bretagne. Our family of four had a whole suite with three bedrooms to ourselves and it was a great experience staying at this quirky and beautiful house.
Our host Pierre was most forthcoming and flexible when we weren't able to arrive within the check-in hours. We met him the next morning when he fixed us the most fantastic breakfast including eggs from the chateau hens, warm croissants, home made marmelade. It was all lovely. Great value for money.

full of character, beautiful grounds, friendly host, games room
very small thing, perhaps one or two more electric sockets in the room for convenience

Breakfast was Good. Quite Location.
We originally booked our stay at The Chateau for £75.00 which was confirmed and paid for. We were emailed some weeks later to say that our room had been given to someone else. We were sent pictures of a lodge which they could put us in instead. We were disappointed not to staying in the Chateau but agreed with the change as it looked nice inside and we didn't have time to search for anywhere else. When we arrived we were told that we were going to be put in another building as the one we agreed to had been given to someone else as well ! What could we do as it's New Year eve and had driven 300 miles to get there. We had no choice but to stay. The property was not somewhere we would choose to stay poor quality and certainly not worth £75.00. The most it was worth was £50. We have stayed in a lot of places through Booking.com and this was not up to our usual standard. Very disappointing hence the low rating.

The chateau should be renovated it looks and feels very old

The owner was an excellent host and the breakfast was exceptional
restaurants nearby if needed or as we did , it’s easy to get a delivery of pizza or burgers
the property was a bit difficult to find. it’s well off the beaten track our sat nav took us to somewhere nearby , but eventually we found it
don’t be put off if there is no one to meet and greet , the owner is a busy Vet and he was out on a call

amazing character, wonderful team of staff and great breakfast, it was a beautiful experience.
hard to get food delivered, ours took 2 hours so be warned (evening meal).

quirky chateau at an amazing price ! great as an alternative to a boring hotel !! Pierre the host was great and flexible on arrival time and our rooms were large and beds really comfortable !

The breakfast was nice. And plenty of it.
It did not have what it advertised in the room, no tea making facilities, no seating area, only old and damaged furniture, poor decor and shower that trickled. Though it matched photo, the rest of the room had cupboards with stuff in, it was old and tired and no appealing to stay in.
4.4
Very clean and comfortable. Very dark at night and complete peace and quiet.
Super, freshly prepared breakfast with lots of juice and coffee.
The château is full of character.
No handle on inside of en suite bathroom door.

This is the real deal. A real chateau: quirky and rustic rather than elegant . Honest great value for money. Fantastic breakfast at one big table.
A bit difficult to find.

This is a truly magical place - so beautiful and full of charm. The chateau is not large, but the garden is impressive and if I had more time, I would simply stay here and relax. Pierre is an attentive and friendly host.

Lovely shabby chic experience in this old chateau. Delicious breakfast and welcoming patron. Perfect for our overnight stop en route to our destination.

Left after 30 minutes due to very disappointing reception and service on arrival. The owner (Pierre?) was not present. It's a shame because there are so many positive comments about this person. After leaving I had contact with owner by email. First he started by saying that we shouldn't expect a 5* room for 1* price, but that wasn't our point at all. In all my travels - all over the world - I have never experienced this behavior on arrival. Apologies followed later and communication was pleasant. Thanks, Pierre! Unfortunately, we have only been able to receive a refund of 41.5% of the total amount.

Pierre went out of his way to make sure we were fed and comfortable after we arrived late. He was a great host, has a great sense of humor, and we hope to visit him again. The breakfast was fantastic with local cheese and Pierre's own rhubarb jam, all in a lovely, peaceful setting. It was great speaking with Pierre in both English and French.
4.4
Amazing place if you want to feel yourself in 19 century in middle of France.
Super friendly owner.

Pierre is a very kind, welcoming and hard working host. The Chateau de Grosfy is beautiful and the location is very quiet and relaxing in the middle of picturesque villages of Normandy. The breakfast was very good with fresh bread (baguettes) and croissants. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed for our short stay. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a special experience in Normandy.

Location was great, set in lovely grounds with plenty of space to sit out on an evening. The owner ordered us takeaway pizza for dinner and it was really nice. Owner and all staff where lovely and breakfast was fab.

Friendliness of host, great for the dog, good breakfast, very relaxing first night of our drive South.
