It was just fine as a stop for the night on my way from Portsmouth to the lake district. I arrived quite late but was expected and the gentleman was very helpful.

Good location
Very nosy in the room from traffic noise, old windows with no secondary glazing in our room.
The nose disturbed our sleep

Location was good. Room was clean. Staff friendly, Tea biscuit toiletries and bottle of water provided. Free Wi-Fi
problems with food were sorted without question.
Everything very old, All carpets and units very worn. Whole place needs upgrading. Room small and bathroom small. Bathroom cabinet did not open. Just a coat rail to hang clothes on. Floorboards all uneven..
Food was not good. Could not eat burger for dinner or waffles for breakfast - had to send them back,.

The shower worked well. The meal service was quite quick
The TV in the bedroom refused to offer any BBC programme.. The room was a bit cramped

location
Couldn’t get any hot water for a shower in the morning! freezing shower

Room and bathroom was nice.
Live music until the early hours resulting in drunken rowdy behavior bottle smashing and swearing I to the early hours we were not told when we checked in about the event. We were just handed our key and ignored, and there was nothing on their website when booking that suggested we'd experience any disturbance.

staff were lovely and helpful.
rooms dated, food was average at best.
bath wouldn't hold the water.
breakfast was poor for £9.
for a hotel you should get tea and coffee with your breakfast not pay extra

Room facilities and decor was stylish

Compact comfortable room with powerful shower accessed from balcony next to the car park - second photo is view from the balcony. (This is probably less noisy than being in the main building). Good food in the pub with masses of seating and pleasant staff. I went for pie and mash followed by apple crumble with custard. The food was well cooked and arrived hot. Staff checked if I needed anything. Would use again for work visits. Ideal.
The carrots with the meal weren't well scrubbed. I didn't like a bit of grit from the carrot tops but they were cooked well.
Room door step is higher than usual.

The corner room on the front was amazing very big, big bathroom, very comfortable bed.. heating on all night. very clean, I felt very comfortable, very nice.
amazing price
the only thing that did not make this perfect was.. the windows was single glassed so you could really hear the cars.. and there must be a church very close as you could here the bells all night.
but only cars… in rush hours… and the windows look amazing and would hate the thought of them being ripping out… and maybe listed as it’s old. and lovey old town and thought the bells was nice to here for a change.
I sleeped really well and my alarm did not go off and the bells let me know it was 8 am and I shot up out of bed.. the price is so cheap
I would stay here again 100% I loved it there…
if had some second glassing to help with noise bet you could get a future for the room.

central location in Whitchurch for all needs
the room was incredibly warm despite being winter, needed to have windows open to ensure good airflow
3.8
very clean, breakfast available if needed, staff pleasant
Due to it being an old building the floors were a little uneven in places, not a problem unless wearing heels.😊

lovely pub/hotel right in the middle of a lovely town.
we had dinner and breakfast here. both excellent.
the staff were super friendly and very welcoming especially Nicky who was just lovely from the moment we arrived.

Room was separate from main building so quieter than I had thought.
Parking is a bit of a lottery.

room was a little shabby & uneven floors but it’s an old property

Staff very helpful, breakfast good. Location great. Room clean, and spacious.

Lovely staff
Large room
The bed was very uncomfortable, too soft
Avoid as very loud - local pub/bar played loud music until half 1 in the morning
Very hot in room as windows closed due to outside noise and no air con
