Bed was clean, toilet was leaking and wouldnt flush properly

Room need upgrade and freshening

Check in and out was easy enough. However, the sheets were dirty, as was the bathroom and the door to the bathroom wouldn't close. It would jam on the floor about 4 inches away from the frame.

Maintenance lets this place down.
Leaking tap in the bath
Door handle falls off
Cleanliness wasn't great. Huge hair ball in the bin on arrival
Very dusty carpet around the beds

The property was clean and the staff helpful and had everything you would expect from this type of accomodation.
we had a problem finding the venue as it was not clear to me that there was a north and south location and we went to the wrong one initially! I think this should be mentioned more clearly in the website and booking pages. there are service roads that connect the two locations but until you know this its quite confusing.

When we arrived at the hotel, the lady on Reception could not have been more helpful and welcoming. I cannot fault the service we received on arrival!
The room catered to our needs perfectly, as the beds were comfy and there were a couple of options directly opposite for getting food for the evening.
The main drawbacks, however, came in the cleanliness and general upkeep of our room. One of the taps on the bath had been leaking slightly, for what looks like a while, resulting in grime around the top of the bath.
Whilst there, we encountered an issue with the toilet flush remaining stuck after we used it, meaning it then ran constantly. We were able to stop this ourselves and saw no need to make a fuss at the time.
The door handle then came off in my hand from the inside of the room when I closed the door once. I was able to put it back and use it, but had to be very careful as it came off again very easily.
These weren't issues that totally ruined our stay but did take the shine off of our experience, and did not warrant the £80-odd cost that was being charged that night.
I was going to mention these issues when we left the next morning but the Reception desk was closed, so hopefully this will go a little way to raise these now so they can be fixed.

Good stuff first. The lady on reception was amazing and so helpful and polite. Nothing was too much for her. Had tea and coffee making facilities.
Bad stuff. Windows filthy dirty you couldn't see out. Holes in curtains. Bugs in bed. Bathroom filthy. Bed left us aching all over next day. Serious investment needed in hotel. No one to raise with in the morning as no one on reception. Appreciate these are supposed to be cheap no frills but this was worse than expected and not acceptable

Older hotel and rundown but clean and comfortable. 24hour front desk friendly staff

Extremely tired rooms with damaged furniture. Dust and litter under beds and dirty, uncleaned windows.
Rooms not made up unless you put a card on the door. But you're not told about the card and it's hidden in the wardrobe behind the do not disturb card.

Hotel us tired, bathroom door doesnt shut, not all lights worked in room. Hair still around sink in bathroom and bottle top on floor but friendly staff, my children loved the rabbits outside and quiet

Bed comfortable

Loved the are and nearby pub.

Good value for the price we paid. Furniture is outdated and some visible stains on furniture, however room was clean and we had all the basics we needed, including clean towels and sheets. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would be nice if they could offer breakfast, but convenient Costa across the road.

Bed was a bit small otherwise more than acceptable and would stop there again if needed.

Good stay. Room clean and comfortable.
Only let down is the service station had very limited food options: only McDonald's or WHSmith.

Very tired hotel in need of an update. Bed was comfy so slept like a baby but that may be because it had been a long drive to get there?!

Helpful staff. Good nights sleep. Good value for money.

I feel really bad leaving a terrible review as the staff obviously work very, very hard; but I’m afraid the hotel is not up to standard and my remarks are justified, even at the low price per night.
We stayed in room 18.
The bathroom has a significant amount of mould, the floor is almost completely spongey due to water damage and needs replacing as a matter of urgency as it is not safe. The bath is chipped and dirty and the plug provided was covered in mould and gunge, and had no chain so we had to get it out with a tea spoon. The bathroom needed replacing atleast 5 years ago. The toilet was disgusting. The bathroom door was damaged and stained and didn’t close properly.
The deadbolt lock to the room door didn’t work. The window limiter wasn’t attached so was useless. It isn’t safe for a single female with young children to have the windows open as anyone can get in, and as it is mainly a truck stop, it was very busy.
The beds were comfy, the bedding was clean; but there were ants in the single bed and we have been bitten by something on our heads and necks in the night. The room was very dated and worn, and needed upgrading with the bathroom. There were a lot of cobwebs and dead bugs, mould and stains on the walls and ceiling.
The hotel is very quiet between 10pm and 5am so we had a good night sleep every night.
I would not stay again and would not recommend to anyone else.

We arrived around 10.15pm as we were at a concert in Winchester that finished late. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the concierge who was very friendly and accomodating. The room was very clean and warm and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the room quiet. In the morning there was plenty of tea, coffee and milk and the shower was hot and powerful. All in all it was a good stay.

At booking we were not advised that there was a fee of £10 for our dog, there was no section to add a dog at any point, in the on line booking. We even contacted customer services to make sure it was pet friendly, but again we were not informed of the additional fee for our dog. Had we known in advance it is unlikely we would have booked here as other places offered breakfast and no additional dog fees for a similar price.
The room looked dated with the hairdryer not working, but was clean.

Hotel was fine - reasonable price and clean/comfortable. However, the description "with restaurant" was a bit misleading as the only facility was McDonalds and when I arrived they were changing menus and cleaning down equipment so half the menu was unavailable......

Musty and damp smelling corridor and rooms. For females please note all on ground floor so may not feel safe. Okay for price and one night wouldn’t feel okay staying longer due to the air quality.

Comfortable and clean, great value, EV charge point at reasonable price. All good.

First room we were given smelt damp. Second room was obviously not a room that was used very often as was very cold. It was well into the night before it warmed up. Lady at reception was helpful though

Room spacious. Very clean. Bed very comfortable. Staff friendly. Decent tv with plenty of channels.
Bathroom door very hard to close and flush not great but for the price an excellent stay.

Relatively large family room especially for the price.
Could do with some refurbishment but for the price ...

Convenient location for an overnight stop between Northern England and Southampton Cruise Terminal.
Easy access, clean and comfortable. Yes the property is dated and shows signs of wear but would use it again.

There is a 24 hour reception desk and the person manning it was very friendly. You are essentially in a small bungalow style hotel attached to a petrol station. The room was okay, but pretty basic. The price was low, but not unusually so (£69). At that kind of price you would get much more from Premier Inn or Travelodge. The bathroom really needs to be re-fitted and all of the old mastic and grout needs to be redone.

Clean and comfortable room. Bathroom needs updating...tiles in particular look very dirty (but its just age).
Reception very friendly

Excellent value for money. Great location and friendly helpful staff. Will certainly stay there again.

We stayed as we were attending a wedding locally and struggled to find hotels as there was a festival going on locally. Staff were very nice but the hotel is basic, showing a lot of wear and tear and dated to say the least. I’m tall so hung off the tiny bed. The place is a bit smelly, damp I assume. Long overdue a serious refurbishment. Bathroom was pretty gross, whilst not dirty the grout was very discoloured, the shower head was old and full of limescale, bath stained. No plug sockets beside the bed. Think 1980’s motel and you’d be about right!

We liked the room but we had to move because we were unable to shut the door of the bathroom of the room originally booked. The staff were very understanding and helpful. The second room was very comfortable but on opening the window I had to screw back the screws which were about to fall out of their moorings. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Very very reasonably priced.

No good dining nearby
No phones in room
Old bathroom fixtures
