The history of the Barracks is why I initially wanted to stay there and I wasn't disappointed! The beautiful prepared breakfast baskets, the attention to detail, historical pieces, the furniture and the spa bath (we had a family room) were so very welcome! Our host, Terry was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend
I was told the spare camp bed (we have a family of 5) wasn't comfortable.

Heritage and Colonial aspects
Also super clean and comfortable
Nothing - You need to understand it's a Colonial property - it's absolutely awesome

Warm and cosy even in Hobart winter. Walking distance to local cafes and shops. Everything was provided and owner available if needed. Perfect location for me.

Close to the airport and not too far from Port Arthur (an hour), great shower pressure, comfortable bed, the goodies basket, the staff. I also enjoyed that it was mostly traditionally decorated adding a quirkiness to accommodation.
The sitting area wasn't overly comfortable (small uncomfortable couch and arm chair) and my husband struggled with the low ceilings of the loft.

The hosts were great. Very attentive and made my stay great. The house is historical but the hosts have updated the bathroom. Comfortable bed. Great wifi. Close to town but on a quiet street. A good base to explore many other nearby places.
I stayed in the upstairs apartment which has slanted ceilings so watch your head if you are tall.

Left some belongings behind & the hosts very kindly got it back to our home address.

so cute, lots of character, nice little welcome basket for when you arrive
really not a fault of the property but because of being tall I had a bit of an issue with the dormered ceiling.

Breakfast was a great variety. Location is a hidden gem. Close enough to Hobart and surrounding places of interest. Easy to drive to after a day of exploring.
We were very pleased with everything

Good central spot for exploring but definitely need a car there. Midway Point Tavern a shoirt drive away is good for cheap meals. Nice sitting out the back in old fashioned garden.
The owner Terry was very helpful and cheerful.
We stayed for 7 days but cabin too tiny for 2 people for that long. Would be OK for 1. Uderstanding the place is very old but some TLC to fence outside cabin would make it more appealing from the front.

We were welcomed with a lovely note in a gift hamper. The managers were easy to contact and we’re always helpful. The place looked just as charming as the photos.
A little bit tight in the kitchen area which is combined with lounge/dining but it didn’t bother us too much.

Breakfast wasn't an option however the snacks provided were adequate, complemented with the coffee making facilities. The location always suits me, quiet and close to other facilities.
I have stayed numerous times at this site, all good and will return.

Has to be the best value & most charming accomodation in Tasmania! We've stayed in the Garden Suite for a total of 3 nights now and it is furnished with such love that the whole suite feels like a warm hug. The description for the room warns that it's small but honestly we didn't think it was too small at all, it has a really comfy double bed, a fantastically warm heater, and a spacious bathroom. Nice shower with great pressure, and immaculately well cleaned. We could not believe the value for money! Not to mention the free drinks and snacks left by the lovely hosts.
If we had to pick one thing, possibly the very small plasma TV, which we endearingly referred to as 'Michael Scott's plasma' (a joke for the Office fans). However, the picture quality was good and the petite size added to the overall charm of the place.
