Fantastic host, very helpful and excellent English. She booked us slow boat tickets at a good price which came with a packed lunch of our choosing, they also served breakfast if you want and gave us lots of tips on Laos and the local area.
Highly recommended
Beds are a little hard…

Stayed here for 1 night before the gibbon experience. Clean and well run hostel with everything you need for the gibbon experience, or if you're heading to the slowboat or across the border.
Only two bathrooms for showering.

Cute little hostel, stayed there for one night before and one after the Gibbon Experience, and it was perfect! Lovely staff, who is super helpful, I bought a sim card, the slow boat ticket and exchanged money, but the staff is also lovely to chat too! Yummy breakfast and sandwiches and super nice atmosphere. Beds were comfy, good AC, clean bathroom. It really has everything I needed for those two nights!
I didn't have anything to complain about!

A great one-night pre-Gibbon Experience stay, with a fantastic host. Nok helped us with a transfer to from Nateuy upon arrival and, following departure, our trip to Chiang Rai across the Thai border. Showers with incredible water pressure.

Really helpful, especially if you are going on the Gibbon experience - the office is so close! And you can rent things from the hostel if there is anything you are missing.

Nok the owner was so welcoming and helpful. She organised our 2 day boat trip and gave us great advice. She speaks perfect English. The hostel is exceptionally clean. Air conditioning and fan in room. had a great nights sleep. For breakfast we ordered Museli, fruit, yogurt and coffee which was delicious. Would highly recommend this hostel.

Very nice contact with Noh, happy to be able to speak English after a long time in Thailand.
We were stranded because of a not-so-daily slowboat, so she came with a great alternative to pass our waiting days.
As a family, we just filled one of the rooms. Worked perfect for us.

Because I had to wait for the slowboat for three days, I decided to stay in Huay Xai for the weekend. I thought there would not be anything to do in this town, but then there was Noke. Noke is the owner of Little Hostel, and she'll entertain you. She's also gonna be more than a hostel owner, she felt like a roommate to me, someone I could chill with. We watched some Netflix over the weekend en chilled. I was able to do some work in the living room, which was really nice. When more people came in, she even arranged a full on tour to a waterfall for a very low price (just the price of the tuk tuk). I have never felt so at home in a hostel, and honestly, if I had more time I would have stayed there for weeks.
In terms of facilities: everything you need is there. It's also the first hostel which I actually find deserving of a 'sustainability' label, as there is a drinking water system, there are small reusable towels to use for washing your hands and Noke even makes her own mosquito spray! The hostel itself was very clean and breakfast was good. Noke will also arrange the slow boat for you at a good price.
Leaving the hostel.

Best hostel ever!!
Anoke is a great host, planned a hole day of sightseeing for us, took us out to dinner and in the morning of our departure, her grandmother blessed us for a good return home. Will definitely be back ;)
