Leuk verblijf in de natuur

Heel rustige omgeving, midden in de natuur. Leuke bungalow met uitzicht over het meer of weide afhankelijk van het seizoen :). Heel aangename gastvrouw die ons veel vertelde over het leven in Vietnam. We hebben lekker gegeten en ook de cocktails vielen in de smaak. Voor de liefhebbers is er 2x/dag een yoga les te volgen.

Tranquil stay in cute bungalow!

The best place to say in Phong Nha! We absolutely loved our bungalow and the view from the massive balcony and huge windows was amazing. They have the cutest animals on the property and the staff and their family are so so lovely. We had many meals in the restaurant and they were all delicious. Nice peaceful location and it’s easy to rent scooters directly with the accommodation to get around

Un retiro de verdad, en familia y bien cuidado.

El alojamiento está al lado de un lago y es precioso. Está alejado de lo que es el pueblo de Phong Nha pero no es algo demasiado relevante puesto que allí merece la pena moverse en moto/bici y no es difícil ni caro. La piscina es una maravilla y las habitaciones están muy bien, son amplias y tienen bonitas vistas. Sin duda, lo mejor del alojamiento es el personal y la tranquilidad que se respira en el lugar. Maxim fue encantador e hizo que nuestra experiencia fuera sin duda mucho mejor. Además el negocio familiar y es bonito ver cómo todos trabajan para que aquello funcione de una manera tan armónica. Tienen un par de perritos muy simpáticos y algunos animales más que también son geniales. Realmente se siente como un retiro.

Poder quedarme más! Merece la pena pasar un par de noches para poder disfrutar de todo.

Amazing place!

The owners were lovely, very kind, caring and helpful - they told us about what to do in phong Nha, were down for some chit chat and helped us spontaneously book our bus including motorbike :) The place is lovely with a big pool, lots of nature and amazing fresh food!

A beautiful oasis to relax and enjoy beautiful rural Vietnam

Loved the entire place, the restaurant area, the accommodation, the food and most importantly the helful and friendly hosts. We have 2 small kids (ages 3 and 5) and we all felt at home. Theu and Maxime are super helpful and kind, they helped us plan trips in the area and arranged the pick up and drop off for us from the train station, our kids played with their girls and had fun together. The place is an oasis and I would recommend everyone to stay at leat 3 nights to properly enjoy the place and the surrounding areas.

Juste parfait

Merci pour l’accueil chaleureux. Max est toujours à votre service, n’hésitez pas a lui demander où vous voulez visiter au Vietnam globalement ou faire des choses «hors de sentier battu ». Super endroit pour une « belle échappée » avec les séances d’yoga et méditation en privé ou en groupe.

A Must Stay in Phong Nha

What a great stay I had here! Beds are comfy. Really nice swimming pool, beautiful view and just very cozy! Staffs are super sweet as well and very helpful.

Nice Spot

QUIET ISOLATE SPOT & GOOD STAFFS

Nice place to relax after a month of traveling! The bungalow has a big balcony with stunning views. Room is clean and good service. Good price for what it is and I high recommend!

Perfect!!! Second time...

I was here before COVID. Everything is changed but it is still the best place to stay. The lake water up and down but the view from the balcony is still amazing. There are only few staffs but they are always here when you needed. It is quite tourists and hard for them but I like this quite.

peaceful, quiet and pretty homestay overlooking a lake/field

We stayed here for a week whilst we explored Phong Nha and went caving. The staff were so helpful and accommodating, and had upgraded us to a nicer room when we arrived! We had a spacious comfy room overlooking the lake/field, and it was lovely to watch the cows and buffalo meander through it every day from our room. It was such a lovely peaceful stay - a really great place to relax and see the local area from. They also gave us early check in off the night bus which made such a difference for our arrival day.

Pleasant

This is the second time I booked this place and it was not the same with what I had experienced before. Less tree, the lake was in drain season and facility of the re-built shacks were poor. It seems that it has not been taken care of for quite a long time. The sink in the bathroom was stuck and I informed the staff there but no-one came to fix as promised. Wifi doesn’t work either. Location is quite around 3km from the center and you will have to rent bicycles or motorbike to get to the town.

Superb

Very friendly staff. The BBQ you can pre-order a day in advance is amazing. The rooms are spacious and as beautiful as on the images. Renting a motorcycle for 150,000 VND / day worked very uncomplicated.

The motorbikes we rented were almost out of fuel in both cases. On one day we did not even make it to the gas station so that Trang had to come and provide us enough gas to get to the gas station. Also the motorbikes were in a pretty bad shape, but good enough to finish our trip without bigger problems. So while their own rental is not ideal, it will work out in the end as Trang is always ready to help.

If you’re looking for a hotel, it’s much cheaper and more convenient to stay in Phong Nha town.

This is more like camping than a resort or a hotel.

Didn’t appreciate the cold and unwelcoming attitude of the host starting with our first day where no one was at the resort to welcome or check us in. We didn’t see the host till our third day. By then we’d also been rented a broken motorcycle, faulty ac, dirty room and mattress with termites, cold shower, closed restaurant and despite all these issues it was appalling how unapologetic everyone was. Not sure if our treatment during this stay was an anomaly because we were the only guests here for a few days and they’re still reeling from the losses of covid - but before staying here please read through the reviews and decide for yourself. Views are nice but not worth it for me, it’s much cheaper (by half their price) and more convenient to stay in Phong Nha town.

Lovely chilled location, a bit out of town

The place was a little bit out of town so it was a little bit cutoff. However if you are looking for a chill in between cave tours its a great place. We probably didn't get the full experience as my husband wasn't well and the weather was cool, the views (and buffalo's) were amazing to watch the world go by whilst recuperating. I guess in the summer months laying on the lovely veranda would be amazing. The staff were very attentive and tried to make bland food for my husband to ensure his stomach got better!

I think it is common of the area, the food was a bit greasy for us

the shower water is so slow we couldn’t have a shampoo, glasses window of the terrasse couldn’t close with key, either the safe box expansive price for fruits juice serving in a small tea cup

Exceptional

The untouched nature here is amazing. Its incredibly peaceful to sit on your balcony and watch the buffalos grazing or the cranes returning "home" after a long day. The room is very spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed is comfortable. The 15 minute walk from Phong Nha town did concern us initially but I'm so glad we decided to stay here in the end. Nguyen Shack is by far the best place to stay in Phong Nha.

If I were to be nit-picky, the toilet bowl is a bit too low, so if you're tall it wouldn't be very comfortable. The menu at the restaurant is very limited, so you would probably be better off dining out.

Can't fault Cuong and the team in the kitchen - really helpful. Location by the lake is beautiful.

Some oddities in the room - shower does not drain into drain hole, water goes all over toilet and floor is in an inch of water. Rooms a little dusty. Could do with more blankets. Too cold for pool, but also very dirty (maybe for winter). In hindsight, and on reflection of all our Vietnam stays, I think this was quite overpriced, plus 100K car to town and 600K to Dong Hoi feels a little high (500K is normal) - so a little bit of gouging going on.

would recommend this beautiful place to everyone. a real gem in Phong Nha

it was beautifully located at a lake with a view on the mountains. Loved staying here. staff was very friendly and helpful. lodge was exceptionally beautiful and clean. so much thanks for letting me stay here!

the shower could be a bit warmer. I think this Feroli system (electric shower) just doesn’t do the trick. I guess that in summertime when it’s really hot, the shower would be great. when I stayed here it was around 17 degrees Celsius and rain.

Would def recommend if you want to enjoy some peace and quiet time in nature

The location is amazing! Do note that this accommodation is not in the village centre, however just outside in the middle of nature overlooking a beautiful lake. The staff is lovely and super helpful. And the huts (3 beds, lake view) are really spacey and have a marvelous view overlooking the lake. The beds are really comfy too.

You can tell the accommodation is trying to get back on their feet after the scarce COVID years. The pool was out of use and the huts could use some reconstruction. The fridge f. e. didn’t work and the shower curtain contained holes.

Out of the way, nice view on the lake, friendly staff, very quiet and secluded. Staff was very attentive and always present.

Facility had a lot of construction, the cement rooms took away from the authentic feel of the place (reception and dining area).

THE BEST HOTEL IN OUR TRIP IN VIETNAM

We always choose affordable hotels during our trip and Nguyen Shack is the best one. It is located in a very nice and quiet location. They are offering a big discount because covid affection. Our room was next to the lake and the other side was hilly. They were badly affected by covid and had to rebuild a brand new hotel. The swimming pool is currently inactive due to the cold weather and very few people using it. Staff are always happy and eager to help. We rented motorbikes and toured the caves.

The lovely spacious rooms in the mountain settings were lovely. everything was very convenient with the host organising everything for us. Such an easy and pleasant stay, with great food and great staff.

The pool was a little grubby, and the showers were cold.
