Great location - idea if you want to be located close to/on the Royal Mile. A quick car trip from Waverley Station. You can also walk easily to/from Princes Street. Interesting historic building. Clear check-in instructions provided by the host.
The mattress was a little uncomfortable and the wifi didn’t work at all. The stairs to access the apartment are very steep and narrow, so may not be ideal for guests with accessibility issues - however this is clearly advertised by the property, so no complaints. 😊

The location is as good as it gets in Edinburgh and is simply superb. I also liked the general style of the room, in an old classic building where natural features like the stone walls are kept in combination with necessary new features like the kitchenette. And that latter is a great addition to the room, making it possible to have small snacks/meals in the room.
The general maintenance of the room was very poor. It is expected that accommodation standards in the UK is lower than many other countries in Europe, but I feel that my room at least was in dire need of some TLC. While I had no problem accessing the room, I did meet others that were struggling, so while the instructions are said to have received awards for its easiness, I do believe that things might can be done even more straight forward. It should be added missing ropes (as “handrails”) in the staircase as with such curved narrow stairs, something to hold on to is imperative to personal safety. Very understandably, there is no airconditioning in the building/room, but during warm summer days (which I do know there are not too many of in Scotland), there should have been a way to either open windows or a small individual unit to provide some airflow.

The room was located just above the Royal Mile (the windows opened above the street). It was very convenient to walk to everything near the castle, and both Old and New Towns. The room itself was nicely appointed and the hosts left some nice treats for us
The dark, steep stairway was scary, especially when carrying heavy luggage. It is not well lit, nor is there much of anything to hold onto. . The instructions to enter independently were long and the walk up the medieval staircase was a bit edgy. I would also add a fan as there could be some stuffy nights. Also, someone was smoking in another room and it seeped into ours. Smoking doesn't seem like a safe thing to do in an old building like that.

Como antes habian dicho, las escaleras son agotadoras, se podrian abrir mas las ventanas para ventilar mejor. Ojala le agreguen algunas repisas para dejar cosas ya que no cuenta con closet.

la ubicación que está en plena calle principal, la habitación es bonita, con cocina y todos los utensilios . te dan té y varios tipos de galletas, habitación limpia.
había mucho ruido, no de la calle en si (porque siempre hay gente) sino un ruido fuerte como si arrastrara algo durante toda la noche, no sé si de las puertas, ventanas o del viento pero era horrible, tuve que dormir con auriculares. La cama se hundía por partes, duermes con el cuerpo torcido. Si buscas descanso no vengas aquí.

Communication with the owners was great. I asked for an early check in as I was meeting friends to go on a walking tour and didn’t want to be carrying my bag with me. I messaged them in the morning asking if they could let me know just so I knew if I had to book luggage storage. I got a confirmation text at around 11 today all good to go. The room was stunning and decorated to a high standard, the bathroom immaculate. Also the instructions for finding the apartments and accessing the key etc were so clear it made everything super easy. Although next time I might ask for a room on one of the bottom floors the spiral stairs kicked my motion sickness in each time I went up or down 🙈😂. The apartments are central to everything in a great location I will absolutely be looking to book again the next time I am staying in Edinburgh. Thank you so much Xx

We had a great stay. Loved the property and it's unique features. The location was brilliant as were the facilities. The bed was very comfortable and we loved all the lighting options.
The communication with the property was really easy and straight forward and we liked it wasn't at a set time, face to face so had more flexibility.
Great value for money.
We would definitely, stay again!
Minor things - the pillows were solid, both of us found them uncomfortable.
We set off the fire alarm trying to cook breakfast. It was straight above the hob. Fortunately a quick wave of a towel and opening the window stopped it.
Bathroom could do with updating but thay's superficial. It was clean and had everything you needed.

This place was perfect for my wife and I, the second time we have been and both rooms were lovely, spotless and the location is stunning, 5 minute walk up to the castle and the mile, easy check in and got messages to welcome us and make sure we arrived ok, wouldn't hesitate to book again!

Absolútne krásny apartmán v centre starého mesta, perfektné vybavenie, možnosť 2-4 osôb v jednom apartmáne. Ubytovanie sa nachádza v pôvodnej historickej budove / pôvodné kamenné steny a schodisko/.
Majiteľka apartmánu s rodinou sa o nás perfektne starali a vždy nás ráno kontaktovali SMS správou či je všetko v poriadku, nechýbala ani mala pozornosť po príchode.
Jedinú vec, ktorú by som v rámci vybavenia pridala je nejaká možnosť na separovanie odpadu, konkrétne plastov a skla :)

The location is the only redeeming factor about this property
Everything. The property was accessed down a dark, unlit alleyway and then up a windy stone staircase with an unstable rope rail. The room itself was definitely not 5 stars. The pictures on booking.com make the property look romantic and attractive, but the room we stayed in was horrible in comparison. I am aware that not all rooms are shown, but the one we stayed in was on another scale compared to the pictures on the website. The carpet was threadbare, the curtains didn't fit the windows, the 'fridge' was warm, the bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed we'd experienced and even had two coffin shaped dips in the mattress. The singe paned windows mean you hear everything all night long. The duvet didn't fit the bed. Very disappointing and I would steer clear of this property.

Huge wonderfully warm room, with lovely features and view of Royal Mile. So close to everything: amenities, museums, restautants. Accessed up the amazing, tiny stairwell, it fulfills a castle fantasy!

Great location in a historic setting
Be aware that access is via a very old stone spiral staircase. I loved it but it was quite a climb to the forth floor where our room was, and wouldn’t be suitable for everyone.

It was a little frustrating due to several negative points and only two positive points (floor, mattress, shower and curtain). Potive were the location, and we asked to leave at midday and it was allowed.
First, I disagree with this policy of saying that the photos of the rooms are mixed up and you have no way of knowing which one will be yours. You can define the descriptions and rooms so you know what you are choosing. We got a room on the fourth floor, different from what we imagined. The stairs are horrible. Second, the mattress was old. When I asked, I got the answer that he was only 2 years old, which is clearly not seen in the photos (even the tag said he was 16 years old). There was a decrease in the flow of the shower and the blind was broken (certainly from some time ago, it was not repaired and we were not even informed about it.

Mixed Experience at Royal Mile Suites
The location of this rental was excellent, nestled conveniently near both Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. This central positioning made our first day quite enjoyable as we easily explored these iconic attractions
However, our experience took a downturn from the second day onward due to a significant issue: the absence of running water in the shower. Despite promptly emailing the owner, we received no response. In search of a solution, I reached out to what was advertised as an emergency contact number the following morning. The owner did answer then, assuring us that they would come to check the issue, but unfortunately, no one showed up to resolve the problem. Further attempts to contact them via the same emergency number were met with voicemail, even after three repeated calls.

We loved the charm of this old building and finding the room was a fun adventure.
Climbing to the 4th floor with our luggage was a bit tricky.

The room location is amazing, you are right on the Royal Mile. We took public transport from the airport, and it wasn't far from the bus drop off location. The staff was very kind and worked with us to have the room made up early, since we came in before official check in.
I know that can't always happen, but it was nice they worked with us. Usb ports were a plus.
4 flights of stairs is a long way to climb with luggage. But we knew it when we booked the place, and we got cardio going up and down, always a plus. Still can't say it was my favorite.

Eigentlich nur die sehr, sehr zentrale Lage direkt am Lanmarket mit Blick auf diesen.
Wir hatten laut booking.com die Suite Bruce gebucht mit angegebenen 28m2, das tatsächliche Zimmer hatte dann ca. 10m². Woher die 5 Sterne im booking.com kommen, ist ein Rätsel, das Zimmer ist eher auf Hostelniveau, außer dass es ein ganz akzeptables eigenes Badezimmer gibt (wobei die Ritzen der Duschwanne mal wieder intensiv gereinigt werden müssten). 160 cm Bett mit dünner Matratze auf Spanplatte. Das Zimmer befindet sich im 4. Stock und ist nur über eine gemauerte enge Wendeltreppe, wie sie aus Burgbesichtigungen bekannt sind, zu erreichen. Da es nur ein Self-Check-in gibt, kann auch niemand mit den Koffern behilflich sein. Wir sind beide über 60, zum Glück noch gut zu Fuß und waren mit dem Auto unterwegs, so dass wir unser großes Gepäck dort lassen konnte. Mit großem Gepäck, no chance. Extrem überteuert.
