La ubicación. Está frente al mar
Es una cabaña muy básica, de difícil acceso en auto y una vez estacionado por un pasillo de piedras en desnivel. No sirven desayuno.

Location was fantastic, few steps to the beach. Hector, our host was friendly and very helpful. He prepared a delicious breakfast that he brought to cabin every morning. Saw dolphins, sea lions and swans from our window.
Shower was cold.

It was the location close to the beach and the beautiful forest in which our cabina was set that made this my favourite stay of our 10-day road trip in Patagonia. We heard the waves of the Pacific in our bedroom, and when going for a walk at the beach, we saw several dolphins catching their breakfast. The lush green soothed our souls and hid our cabina but let just enough room for glimpses of the sea, and although there was another couple, we hardly noticed them. The wood stove made the lodge really cosy, and Hector delivered nicely presented breakfast in a basket. He built the lodge himself and it shows in a positive way: attention to detail, lots of found wood and other materials, and perfect for the setting in nature. Beautiful designed bedding and towels.
We had trouble with catching the ferry from Caleta Gonzales, and Hector was very gracious about changes to the booking.
Although there was a kettle, kitchen facilities would have made this even more perfect. Hector is in the middle of erecting a communal kitchen for the guests, though, and Chaiten is only a five minute drive away. For us, for one night, it did not matter. Wished we could have stayed longer.

good spot by the sea with black necked swans in that area. The bed was large but cold
Extremely expensive at 180 USD per night for essentially a basic fishing lodge. Cold and damp. Very rough old bathroom facilities with broken toilet flush and small inadequate shower. Old rusty stove in an entrance area which required logs to burn. Torn chairs. Meagre breakfast served out of a hold-all. Bizarre owner.

The beautiful location in the forest by the lake. The tasty breakfast. The cozy wood stove. Seeing dolphins swim by. Having our picnic lunch (our food, no restaurant here) on the beach side deck.
The extremely creaky bed, felt like it could collapse at any moment. The lack of signage on the gate. There was NO signage on the gate to the cabins. The curtains were too small for the windows which compromises privacy.

This place was right on the ocean with a beautiful view of the volcano. Truly a magical setting. Just wish we had more time to enjoy this place.
Everything was great.

The room was small, heated by a wood burner so very cold if the wood burner went off.
The room had NO sea view, you had to walk to the sea instead.
We liked to have a breakfast at 7.30 but that wasn’t possible, so he gave it the night before (so it was cold and old)
It was far too expensive for what we got, and we had to pay it in cash so he would not have to pay taxes…

The location was amazing. We could hear the sea from our cabana. We saw 2 dolfins pass by as we were sitting on the bench on the beach. We had an amazing host who took really good care of us. Oh and the breakfast is amazing too!
It takes a while before the water warms up. That said, this is everywhere

great location at the sea; saw dolphins, a seal and even a few swimming penguins. Comfortable bed and room.
Location is missing on Google Maps and not well indicated on the road itself, so relatively hard to find.

We had the BEST time at Ecolodge Playa Fandango! Where even to begin writing this review. First of all, Hector is one of the nicest, friendliest, most entertaining, and accommodating hosts anywhere. He met us on arrival, got us headed down the right road towards the cabin (don't be alarmed, it looks like you're driving into the forest... but the reward is waiting for you when you get to the end), gave us a quick tour of our cabin, and made sure the fire in our wood-burning stove was going strong. He also showed us how to keep it that way overnight. The cabin itself is lovely, spacious, and only steps from the private beach. Just gorgeous! We had the left half of the cabin, another couple was staying in the right side (though we never heard a bit of noise). There was a nice sized living room with comfortable chairs, a table, a refrigerator and the woodstove, all with a view out to the water. A very large and super comfortable bedroom was just up a few steps, and the nicely appointed bathroom was off of that. And then there's the beach. It's rocky, you probably won't want to spread out a blanket and get a tan, but it is stunningly beautiful and mere steps from your front door. My partner and I stayed out there for hours, having a few beers at the end of a long day, watching the stars and the amazing night sky. The next morning, Hector brought breakfast to our room, and set everything out on the table for us to enjoy. Coffee for me, tea for my partner, eggs, ham, cheese, bread, fruit salad, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. It was more than we could eat, and positively delicious. This isn't anything like a typical hotel, it's much smaller and more rustic. But for us it was perfect as we were traveling the Carretera Austral and enjoying a more adventurous journey. In short, if you have the chance to stay here, DO IT! The place is amazing. We absolutely loved it and hope to return some day.
Nothing, it was perfect.

Cosy little cabin in the woods by the water. The view of the flock of black necked geese along the shoreline was priceless
we didn’t have enough kindling to get the fire going in the morning, but we should have added a log the night before :)

This is a peaceful getaway outside of town. if you have a car you get the best of both worlds - ocean waves and the restaurants in town. Hector is very nice, his dog is adorable and a wood fire keeps the place cozy and warm. no WiFi but if you have a Chilean SIM you are all set.

Alison and Hector were wonderful hosts to their cabanas located on their own rocky beach overlooking Chaiten Bay. They served us a beautiful breakfast with home baked kitchen.

Perfect location in the forest at only 30m from the beach. The dolphins swim along the coast line! A very delicious dinner is cooked on request. The breakfast surprised us too.
The lodge is rather cold at night.
This place has no wifi and only cash payments are accepted.
