God beliggenhed.

Proximity to beach. Friendly staff.
Pricey. For what it offered. The rooms were hot without a/c. The cost of watermelon juice at LKR 900 was a rip off.

The location was great. Close to Unawatuna and turtle beach but far from the crowds. We could go swimming at the front of the hotel. Big garden and lovely staff for our 3 year or old son to run around and play

Proximity of the beach, lovely staff, food ok. Nice places to eat out.
Loved all the nature around.
Bathroom needed updating but functional.

Right by the sea. Friendly staff and they offered nice breakfast and food was good.
Much too overpriced, nothing deluxe. Nothing like in the pictures at booking.com. Damp and musty smell. Need some renovation. Cockroaches in the room.

The location is amazing

The room was clean and comfortable with a living area attached as well as a terrace. The staff really looked after us. We were right on the beach and about a 10 minute walk down the beach from where the turtles are.

The service was top!!!
Very nice and kind people and a good calm location.

Over priced. The photos are much better than the reality.
The bed is nice and comfy
Bathroom is awful
Location is ok. Nice to be by the beach, but it is not private as they advertise or great for swimming.
We were surprised how different the reality is from the photos. We complained and the management offered us a discount, even so we’d prefer value for money
Breakfast is disappointing. They seems very reluctant to offer nice bread, and offer very minimal fruit, eggs and tea/coffee. We had to pay extra for juice. Considering the price we paid, we expected better quality of everything.
Our room was only cleaned once.
The entrance looks like a building site. Its right on a busy road.

Location is Good
Very old place. Not look like this photo.

loved the private beach, the very friendly staff, and releasing baby turtles out to the wild!!
Nothing! The only thing to say is that it’s a 5 minute tuktuk away from Unawatuna beach, so if you’re wanting more of a vibe in the evenings with bars and restaurants then you’re slightly away from it, but that was perfect for us 😁

Very nice accommodation, big family room with kitchen, bedroom and nice bathroom. Kettle, fridge, water, coffe, tea. Rich breakfast. On request lunch or dinner. Very nice and caring staff. Just on the beach.
Nothing.

The peaceful beach front location is idyllic. We travelled with our toddler and the living space in the rooms, patio, and lawned area were really great for a family. There are only 3 rooms there and for us we loved that privacy and peace. We were very lucky some turtle eggs the owners had been caring for hatched during our stay, and they invited our daughter to release them - a very special experience.
Breakfast was disappointing, but nothing particularly wrong with it, just very very simple for the price point. Some things could easily be improved to make the space feel more comfy and luxurious - replacing stained shower curtains, making beach steps safe and attractive, tidying or hiding waste better behind the rooms.

Very quiet (only 3 apartments)
Nice large garden at the beach

The location was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast very good and Sri Lankan also, private cooks preapred us on order special meats for lunch or dinner ( curry, fish, seefood) - everything really yummy; private beach with its own sunbeds und umbrellas; turtles in the sea and sometimes on the beach, nice garden with coconut palms...
Apartment equipment very poor - so called kitchen had only a sink, an electric kettle, broken leer cabinets for dishes, two cups for tea or coffee; on demand we have got a small fridge. I would say the whole apartment needs overall a significant investment for reconstruction. There is also a big noice from the main street and sea waves as well; it could be helped by using some ear plugs - we did so. Access to the sea due to permanent waves and stones was rather complicated. The price is also higher than usually in the neigborhood.

I like the location and access to the beach.
The food. The lack of wifi. The service. One worker was incredibly grumpy and unwelcoming. The villa itself needs lots of work. It is very tired and not worth what is being charged.

Staff and service! Guys here were super friendly and helpful. They checked us in earlier, helped us with taxi and scooter and everything else we needed. Special thanks to Naomi, Mahesh and Nadeepa, Chaminda. They were stars!
Lunches were unexpectedly great too + the hotel is small so you feel secluded.
all was great!

Location is great with amazing views and it’s right next the famous dalawella swing.
Staff was really friendly, whatever your need they’ll try their best to get it to you.
The night atmosphere is dead, no bar nothing going on but fortunately there is a bar just 2 min walking so I can’t complain :)

Location is fantastic. Right on the beach and it’s beautiful. Within a short distance you find places to eat, and other sightseeing.
The staff is super nice and helpful. Breakfast was awesome and the guys are humble and ensure you have a comfortable stay.
Well, to begin with we felt the property was over priced. Except the location and the staff everything else was pretty average. At the time check-in, the room had a bad odour. Then in the night, there were cockroaches in the bathroom. Next morning, the AC also stopped working but then the staff moved us to another room and the stay was better then.
We realised the prices are too high when booking with booking.com or any other agency.

Wow, what a perfect start to our trip in Sri Lanka. We arrived in the dark but could hear the ocean from our room. We woke up in the morning to discover such a beautiful, peaceful (and pretty much deserted) stretch of beach with turtles swimming just a few meters from where we woke up. It’s much quieter here than Unawatuna which is just around the corner. Mahesh and Chaminda were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome. The food was out of this world!!! I would recommend saying for the food alone!
The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed from good air con, warm showers and good wifi.
Chaminda introduced us to Banti who took us for a surf lesson locally which was also amazing.
There are also great places within walking distance to visit such as wijaya beach (amazing pizza and a lovely sunset spot) and Sri Yoga Shala for yoga.
Can’t recommend this place enough!

The location was so good, it has nice view of sea.
Price wasn’t worth to the room. We had non A/C budget room and it had not good ventilation also. But it was expensive.

Our stay in Isle of Thalpe was absolute brilliant. We stayed in one of the three sea view rooms, which are very spacious with their own patio and living room. It's actually more like an apartment with a couch, flat screen TV, fridge, kettle, sink and water dispenser. All nicely decorated with some colorful touches. You have an amazing view from your room or patio toeards the water. I loved hearing the ocean all day and night. The staff is super friendly and attentive and keeps the place and the rooms very clean. The beds are really comfortable and have perfectly working mosquito nets. There are nice wooden cloths racks and gear mirrors in the sleeping room. If you need, there is AC, but we were always good with the fast spinning but silent fans in both rooms. The location is absolutely fantastic, basically on the beach, with a private garden and two outdoor showers. It's not too far from Unawatuna, you'd walk there easily. Sunsets are stunningly beautiful and swimming is a bliss all day long, especially at high tide. You can lay on sun chairs at an elevated level on the little wall or directly on the beach. There are some other restaurants around, also a few local spots and fruit stalls. But the manager and chef cooks delicious food tailored to your personal taste and you can eat in the restaurant or even on the beach. Bathrooms are good standard and water pressure is great. WiFi works will and is incredibly fast. I also saw the backpacker room which is small but okay to sleep in. You can still use a communal kitchen area and sit outside on couches. We absolutely loved our stay and can highly recommend Isle of Thalpe.
