Cute cabin right above creek, found as described!
Pros-
-kids loved loft bedroom w four twins,
- fun watching the flying pig set up their rafts (yes you can hear them but we’re up by 8:30 anyway)
-deck overlooked creek, fun seeing wide life too
Cons
-walls within cabin are paper thin. For example if i was in master bedroom whole cabin can hear normal conversation. Every time my kids rolled over in beds upstairs I awakened bc I could hear it. My son literally put his finger from the loft floor edge into my bedroom to wave goodnight.
-beds all were super squeaky and rolled on wood floors constantly.
-tv in family room virtually unusable at 7feet up.
-laundry is not in cabin. Separate bldg is easy but the hours are 4-9pm!! This was unknown and after a week in GTNP this threw a wrench in our plans. So Plan accordingly
-Basically everything is very cute! But many things felt like they may fall apart, very much a rental and not someone’s home.
We enjoyed our 5 nights! But likely would try something different if/when we return! Cons-

Incredible views, great accommodations, great location

The Mountain King was such a cute and cozy place to stay, with that incredible balcony overlooking the beautiful Yellowstone River! The only issue, and I’d read on some reviews about it, is that we were never able to park in that one offered spot! There was a permanent car parked several feet into that very narrow space!😁

The cabin was wonderful! Parking was a bit challenging but not a deterrent at all. Location was amazing. Gardiner is a fantastic little town, and the people are super friendly! You can walk to anything! The park is literally across the street, and so fun to watch rafters putting in while relaxing on the large porch on the river! Host is super responsive and helpful. We will be back!

Had a great trip out to Yellowstone. Saw lots of wildlife and caught a fish in the river just below the rental. Would visit the mountain king again.

The cabin is a beautiful cabin and very roomy. The check in process was a bit confusing as the email stated that the keys would be on the table and the door would be unlocked. When we arrived the door was locked. I signed into VRBO and there was another message with the code and info. The cabin is very clean and stocked well with everything you need including coolers. Overall a positive experience and would return if ever in the area again.

Went with a family of 5 of which 3 were teens. The parking was not ideal for a large suv and the beds were not tailored for older teens. The house would be great for a family with small kids but not for older teens or adults. The rafting company is right next door so you can hear them and see them right outside your window early in the morning. The views were spectacular especially at night from the porch and it is right outside Yellowstone so it is close to everything.

Location relative to Yellowstone cant be beat BUT the cabin is Literally right next to a rafting guide and they launch the rafts right outside the bedroom windows. You can hear them banging up against the walls. Also, the upstairs air-conditioning dis not work properly so we just used the downstairs. Not a big deal because we spent most of our time away. The place has a great feel to it and the view from the porch is amazing! Especially for the sunset!

Overall stay was really nice. The parking situation here is the worst part of our stay. Because the rental is at the end of an alley we had issues getting blocked in. That being said the owner was super helpful in getting the vehicles moved so that it did not interfere with our plans. She was quick to respond and these issues were due to others parking where they should not. Neighbors were really helpful too. Our only other complaint would be the height of the mounted tv. It is so high! We did not enjoying the living space like we would have if the tv was lower. But the views from the balcony really make this a great spot. We loved watching the rafters go by. Comfortable beds and very clean too.
4.6
Great view but kitchen needs to be updated. towel rack needs to be mounted properly.
AC unit on loft did not worked and window would not open.
TV needs to be updated
Parking is very tight.
There is also no privacy in any room since wall are so thin.
This place has a great view but has many problems.

Great clean space..plenty of room for our family of 5 to spread out. Walkable to restaurants and shops. Definitely raft with Flying Pig!
4.6
The cabin was cute and we greatly enjoyed watching the wildlife across on the mountains from the porch. Cabin is extremely close to other buildings and you were awaken Every morning when the rafts were being dropped to the river. Other than that it was beautiful and loved listening to the River at night. I do recommend it.

the cabin was nice and clean 2 things it needs is a ice maker in the fridge and tv channels to watch tv. parking is a little tight but was ok.

Didn’t realize our neighbors would be so close, but they weren’t bothersome. Easy access to Yellowstone Park. Walking distance to everything in town.

We enjoyed our stay, came to watch wildlife in Yellowstone. Cabin is very close to the north gate making it very easy to come and go. Had everything we needed for the trip, great view of the river and surrounding mountains from the deck.

The property is very nice, clean, very neat and great location. One thing, the WIFI is not working.

We loved our stay in Gardiner, everything was clean and well stocked.
The views of the river were definitely the highlight of our mornings and evenings.
We watched an elk eat right below our balcony on our last evening!
Communication with Liza was great, she was responsive and very helpful after the flood. We are so glad we made it and feel so lucky to have enjoyed Gardiner this summer. 100% recommend and can't wait to be back!
We were able to visit the park with a Yellowstone Wild tour (we did the nature tour with Emil, and it was amazing!).

Super peaceful! The balcony was our favorite to sip coffee and watch the river. We came home so relaxed!

Overlooking the Yellowstone - i’ve stayed at these properties for several years now. We rented a bigger one since we had more people coming. We love the porch overlooking the Yellowstone. I love that the location is walking distance from town. Our favorite place to come once a year.

Beautiful cabin!!!
This was our first trip to Gardiner. The cabin was very cozy and was a great location. The views were absolutely breathtaking . I took some of the most beautiful pics from the cabin. Todd was amazing. He was so very helpful and tentative. When we plan a trip back to Gardiner we will definitely stay at Todd’s Cabin-Laura E from Alabama

Wonderful view & Perfect location
We stayed in the Mountain King cabin for 3 nights. Our group was 4 adults and 3 kids. The bunk room was perfect for the kids and the 2 bedrooms worked well for the adults. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The view of the river was amazing. We were within walking distance to everything. We loved sitting on the porch watching the rafters and looking for elk on the mountain. The cabin had everything we needed and the hostess was extremely responsive and helpful. This was a fantastic family getaway! Would definitely stay here again.

Best property manager I've ever worked with
This was an amazing VRBO experience. Cabin was great, the view was amazing and the property manager (Liza) was spectacular. We are caught in the Yellowstone flooding and the roads out of Gardiner MT were closed the day we were checking out. Liza kept us updated with local news and emergency information. She provide us with water options when the town water system was not usable. She allowed us to stay and extra night as we had not place to go! Don't hesitate to rent the Mountain King cabin or any of her other properties! Great memories

Cabin was just lovely!
The view of the mountains and sound of the river make the property!
Parking is a little tight for large vehicles but doable.
Plenty of space for all five of us.
Will be back!

Beautiful view of the river and surrounding hillside. Only minutes from entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Within a mile of grocery store, gas station, and restaurants. The only inconvenience is that the laundry room is in a separate building and is only accessible from 4-9 PM. This isn’t ideal if you are planning on being in the park all day. So, I’d plan your laundry day for a day you plan to relax a little at the cabin. Their are nice washers and dryers there. Overall, it is a great place to stay! Will definitely schedule again in the future.

Cousins from opposite sides of the country, met in Gardiner and had a wonderful stay at the Mountain King cabin! My second stay here - you can't beat the views of the mountains and the river, just beautiful! We spent three days enjoying multiple drives into Yellowstone from the North Entrance and spending our evenings relaxing in the cozy, warm cabin (super convenient to the park). The cabin has everything you need, full kitchen, comfy beds, relaxing living room and awesome porch. Super clean! Would highly recommend!

I enjoyed my stay. The cabin suited my needs. I really enjoyed the deck overlooking the Yellowstone River. The remote control for the TV was missing but the property manager brought another TV for us to use. She was very nice and bent over backwards trying to make our stay better. The only downfall to the property is the parking. There is only room for one car. Other cars must be parked up on the main street. Other than that, it was wonderful!

Unfortunately we (2 couples) only stayed 1 night. Wish we had made it 3 after we checked in and realized the cabin was everything it claimed to be and then some. I didn't tell the other couple where we were staying and they were blown away when they saw the cabin and the awesome view. The cabin was very comfortable but we spent as much time as we could enjoying the view from the balcony (needed 3 more wine glasses for our sunset toast). We set our alarms to get up at dawn to watch the sunrise and look for wildlife. We saw 4 elk grazing on the hillside and the sunrise was phenomomal. Perfect location and the laundry room was an added bonus. We would definately stay here again and recommend the cabin to other travelers.

This little wood cabin overlooking the Yellowstone River was amazing for us. The views were unbeatable. We were 3 couples and it was perfect for us. We were a little concerned about the one bathroom but it worked out just fine. It was clean and the beds comfortable. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting Yellowstone and would definitely want to stay here again.

Great view of the river from the deck. Cute decor. We came with another couple and left the kids at home but they would have loved the loft if they had come.
Kitchen wasn’t very well equipped. It would have been nice to have some Kleenex provided.

There were 8 of us in this cabin on the river and we couldn't have loved this more! The Mountain King Cabin was the perfect place to start and end our adventures in YNP for 4 days. We walked in and it was clean and ready for our visit - the neighbors and the folks at the rafting company next door were super nice. I highly recommend this place for larger groups - it was literally the perfect getaway!
