About this house rental
Set apart from the village on a peninsula of the Mopan River, Cohune Palms is blessed with cool river breezes and a jungle setting. Being on the river and under gigantic palm trees certainly makes it feel far away from town - but the best part is that it is conveniently located just 2.5 miles outside of San Ignacio and is easily reached by taxi.
While resting in one of the hammocks, swimming in the river, jumping off the rope swing, or watching iguanas and howler monkeys can all be done at Cohune Palms, most are here for the great many adventures waiting to be had in the area - visiting archaeological sites, exploring the famous ATM cave, ziplining, visiting waterfalls and butterfly farms, horseback riding, floating the river, cave tubing or birdwatching.
Cohune Palms is an excellent base for the wide variety of tours and explorations in western Belize. All tours are easily arranged either by us or directly by you with one of the tour companies in San Ignacio. These can be booked in advance or we can call them in the day before at no extra cost. They all pick up and drop off at our place every day so no need to worry about transportation arrangements.
Our restaurant features local and international cuisine, as well as local beer, wine and cocktails, and we are happy to cater to guests’ dietary and time preferences, serving breakfast as early as needed for timely departures on day trips.
We have free parking and can also arrange for transportation to and from the Belize City airport, the water taxi, or other areas of interest in Belize.

Cohune Palms is just what we were hoping for. The property is really lovingly maintained. The staff are really warm and accommodating- Ms. Nellie's cooking was just perfect after long days of tours! The cabins are not posh but not supposed to be- and it was HOT in there, we ended up asking for additional fans in the evening- but they were clean, and had everything we needed. We specifically chose this location because we weren't planning on exploring town or being "close' to other food/activities, we just wanted peace along the river and planned long tours during the day. It's not really easily accessible to town unless you rent a car. We would stay here again happily, though likely in a cooler time of year!

Idyllic setting right on the river, set back in a jungle setting. This place looks like it is out of a storybook.

Full value. Rooms were clean, meals were prompt at breakfast and dinner.
But the kicker is the cabanas are right on the river, just an incredible location to relax and cool down after a days excursion.
